The Buried Luna: Back As The Rogue Queen

Vesper’s POV 

“What is the plan now?”, Darius asked as he stepped into the room fully with a glass of wine in his right hand and the other hand buried in his pocket. “There is no time”, he paused for a while and sat down on one of the couches in the room. “We have to attack before it is too late”, he finalized. 

“I know and I am working on that”, I replied slowly as I faced him because I was staring outside the window when he stepped into the room. “This is my fight and I want to do it the right way without mistakes”, I added, increasing the intensity of my voice. 

“I know and I am not disputing that”, he said and dropped the glass of wine on the table while spreading his arms to express himself. “I have told the pack rogues about your plan to attack the Lunaris pack for revenge and they are ready to fight for their queen”, he added and I stayed silent, not because I wanted to but because I was trying all I could to make sure that I do not say anything offensive to someone that saved me when there was nobody to do that. “You have to make your plan fast”, he said and stormed out of the room. 

Minutes after he left the room, I still stood on the same spot. “How exactly did I end up here?”, I muttered and stared at the moon crescent tattoo that sat beautifully on my wrist. “If I want to find out, I need to fight”, I thought and right there, I made up my mind to attack the Lunaris pack. 

I was involved in a very brutal accident that almost claimed my life years ago, but I was rescued by the rogues of the wolfbane pack. I lost my memories and became a nobody. 

I became a woman of strict personality and from that, Darius asked me to be the queen of the rogues and I accepted. A new personality was brought up in me and I was given the name— Vesper Rhea. I stared at the tattoo on my wrist once again and tried remembering where and how I got it but my head was as blank as it has always been. 

“Ahhh”, I groaned as a throbbing headache hit my hand. My hand travelled to my head in a few seconds and I grabbed it so hard like it would stop the headache. Anytime I tried remembering anything about the life I had lived before the accident, I get headaches like this and it only leaves anytime it wants to. 

“Stop stressing yourself, even I can’t remember what happened”, a loud and rude voice interrupted my thoughts and I smirked. The voice belonged to Ash ( my wolf ) but I ignored it completely. Instead, I pulled off my clothes and entered the bathroom for a warm bath. 

Ten minutes later, I came out of the bathroom and dressed up, ready to address the rogues of the pack. Stepping out of my room and entering the pack, I sighted the rogues on the field having their daily practice. 

Bang! Bang! Bang! 

I smacked the iron bell beside me to get everybody's attention. “Attention everyone!”I shouted again at the top of my voice and they stopped all that they were doing .

Hundreds of eyes turned to me and I scanned the field slowly. Some of them had scars on their bodies and some carried scars that no one could see. This shows the level of what they had passed through as wolves before they joined the wolfbane pack to become rogues. 

 “Just as the Beta of this pack has told you all, I want us to prepare well for the attack against the Lunaris pack”, I started and paused for a while trying to caption the expression on their faces. They all carried the same expression that showed determination and preparation. 

“We will surely do that ….. Even if we have to now, we are more than prepare”, Fepris, the head of the security rogues commented with a soft smile on his face. 

 “We still have to prepare”, I said and looked at him. “Let the preparation start immediately”, I added with a slow nod and a loud cheer erupted from the field. I turned back and left the field as fast as I came with a small smile plastered on my face. 

“You didn’t tell them when you will be attacking”, a thick voice said behind me and I turned back to see Darius standing like he had been waiting for me. “I haven’t decided but I know it will be soon”, I answered as fast and humble as I could. 

“But I think it is only logical and right that we plan this together….. I am the Beta of this pack”, he snapped and something twisted painfully in my chest. I stared at him for a while before giving him a reply. 

“And what if you are the Beta of this pack?”, I answered him with the same energy. “Uhmm…. What if you are the Beta of this pack?” I asked him again and moved closer to him while holding his gaze. 

“I do not care if you are the Beta of this pack….. This is my fight and I would have it anyway I want to”, I snapped at him and he flinched. “Let this be the last time you would talk to me like that”, I paused and moved back a little. “Gather the rogues and train them properly, we attack in a week”, I added and left. 

ONE WEEK LATER

“Get them!!! I screamed at the top of my voice as I watched the rogues attacking the wolves of the Lunaris pack. 

We got here about thirty minutes ago and the fight has been brutal since then. I looked around and saw hundreds of dead bodies lying on the ground, most of the bodies belonged to the wolves of the Lunaris pack. A large smile plastered on my face as I watched the fight unfold. 

“Yiaaa”, I screamed again and pushed my long nails into the stomach of one of the wolves in front of me.  “Ahhhh”, he screamed with hot tears rolling down his cheeks as I pulled out his intestines. “Niceee”, I laughed out loud as I stared at the bloody intestine in my hand. 

My nails became extra long again and I used them as my own weapons to fight against the wolves of the Lunaris pack. “Behind you queen”, I heard Fepris’s voice and before I could look back, I felt my feet moving away from the ground and I stumbled with my face on the ground. 

“Argghh”, I screamed as pain flooded my system. I tried standing up from the ground but my strength failed me. 

“This is the end for you”, a man with a thick voice said behind me and as the voice settled into my system, my head banged. 

“I think she is the queen, I need to kill her to make her rogues surrender”, I heard the man’s thick voice again and my eyes widened because right now, I do not have the strength to attack him. I looked back and saw the man coming towards me with a sword in his hand and ready to cut my head off but he stopped when he moved close to me. 

“Elowen”, he called gently. “Elowen is that you”, he called again but this time, his voice shaked and tears rolled down his eyes. 

“I thought you were dead, why didn’t you come back to me”, he muttered and before I could process what was going on, he hugged me. 

“My Luna, thank you for coming back to me”, he added as he pulled me closer.
