Aria

Before either of us could fully process what was happening, Hope was already running.

Marcel left my side instantly, meeting her in front of the stage. He scooped her up, holding her tight against his chest as she wrapped her legs around him. She was shaking with sobs, clinging to him while he kept rubbing her back, whispering something only she could hear.

The music cut off, but it didn’t matter. Hope’s cries and shout filled the hall and everyone was already looking at us

Then came the gentle chorus of awws from the crowd like everyone was collectively happy

Marcel glanced at me, giving a small nod for me to follow. We slipped backstage, the three of us huddled together. He set her down on top of a speaker so they were almost eye level , and I stood beside them.

"We’re both here," he said softly, brushing her tears away with his thumb. "I’m sorry I was late. I had to pack the car…it took a minute."

"Mr King, the other kids are waiting…" the event organizer began, but Marce

Aria’s POV — age 17 I could hear them from the hallway. My parents.. They were arguing again there voices overlapping, like they were both trying to win a war nobody even understood anymore. It was always about the same thing lately — his job as a Reporter …mom used to love it but now she hates it . I tried knocking but they didn’t hear it. Or maybe they did and just didn’t stop. My stomach twisted. Today was supposed to be peaceful. Today mattered. I took a breath, pushed the door open. They both froze mid-fight, mid-anger, mid-breath “Mom… you’re supposed to help with my hair,” I said, peeking in. My voice came out small even though I hated sounding small. She nodded, jaw tight, eyes still burning from whatever she was yelling seconds ago. I didn’t wait. I turned and rushed back to my room like stepping away could make me forget the shouting Once I got to my room I sat at the vanity table…looking at the Family photo on the table Dad was holding mom by the waist, they lo

Aria's pov I took a shaky step back, trying to process what I just heard but my elbow hit a vase and It toppled, crashing to the floor, shattering into a thousand pieces. "What was that?" Mrs. King’s voice sharpened. I didn’t wait. My heart slammed against my ribs as I turned and bolted. I didn’t stop until I was in my car, hands trembling on the steering wheel. I drove home like my life depended on it. Marcel would tell me if he knew right? But why didn't Aiden tell me and we've been married for two years now By the time I pulled into the driveway, I didn’t even bother parking properly. I ran straight for the house, my pulse still hammering in my ears. Halfway through the hallway, I bumped into Hope. She fell on her butt, her yoghurt falling from her hand and she picked it up immediately “Hey, easy,” I said quickly, scooping her up. She didn’t even seem to care — her focus was on the yoghurt cup in her hands, trying so hard to peel the lid off. “Mummy… open it,” she said

Marcel’s POV“Well, that explains it… how he got in the first place,” Michael said, his tone grim as we watched the footage from the day of Hope’s showcase. The bastard who shot me — was me.Or rather, the man pretending to be me.He walked into my building, my office, driving a car that looked exactly like mine. No one questioned him…. Of course they didn’t — they thought it was me.He shot me in my own space and still managed to walk out like he owned the damn place. The pen in my hand snapped clean in two.“Dude,” Michael said, his gaze dropping to the ink spilling across my fingers. I tossed the pen aside and wiped my hand on some tissue papers , jaw tight enough to crack a tooth.“He’s just one man,” I said through clenched teeth. “How hard is it to find one man?”Michael didn’t even look up from his laptop. “The funny thing is , you haven’t considered the odds that he’s your twin..like a triplet situation.”I turned to him definitely sure, I was glaring daggers at him but he did

Aria's pov “Aria.” His voice was low, almost rough. “You’re thinking about Aiden right now.” I stood up immediately. “What? No, I’m not.” He gave me a look…I knew that look — that quiet, dangerous edge — and I also knew I had just a few minutes to make him understand before he lost the small bit of control he was still holding onto. “Wait, wait,” I said quickly, reaching out to him, pressing my hands against his chest just to make some type of connection in this moment “I know how this looks. But I want you, I really do. It’s just… it wouldn’t be fair to Aiden.” He said nothing, but his jaw clenched tighter. “I don’t think he’s out there cheating on me right now,” I continued, “but I’ve been with you—constantly. And tomorrow we’ll sign the divorce papers properly. So if you can wait a few hours, just a few, I’ll leave early in the morning and come back here… fully yours. Though you already know I am.” My voice dropped, soft. “I’ll be Aria King again. And I want that.” He d

Aria's POV He kept kissing me as he walked, his hands steady on my waist. There was nothing soft about it, nothing slow either. Just utter lust and need My back hit the wood, breath caught in my throat, and I could feel his erection right where I needed him“Please,” I whispered against his lips, “fuck me” the word barely making it out… before he pushed my panties to the side and sank his fingers inside him I moaned and held unto him for dear life as kept working his way, he groaned against my neck, “God ….I missed you “ He said, his breath hot on my skin, his lips moving lower he moved my dress taking my breast in his mouth “Mummy?”I froze. My eyes snapped open, even as Marcel kept sucking . I turned just enough to see Hope slipping away from Mrs. Potts, running toward us “Oh no,” I breathed, trying to steady my voice. “Hope’s coming,” I whispered quickly, hoping he’d stop. He didn't “Hope’s…” I tried again, but he only groaned in frustration before finally setting me d

Aria “What?” I asked, still trying to catch up with what I was hearing.“Well, you do look amazing,” he said, that familiar smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “And I knew you’d forget.”“What?” I asked again, my voice smaller this time. “You… you know me?”He chuckled softly. “I’m supposed to not know you?”“But the doctor said…” My words broke apart. Tears burned at the corners of my eyes, blurring his face.“Right,” he said, a little sheepish now. “I just wanted to scare you. But then you started avoiding me, and judging by how you were trying to run out of the room just now, I think it worked. When I woke up, I realized the next day was your birthday and—” He shrugged. “I needed to stall a bit. I’m sorry.”Relief flooded through me so fast it made me dizzy. The tension that had gripped my chest for days finally settled. My breath came out in a shaky laugh that turned into a sob. He reached up and wiped the tears from my cheeks, his thumb warm against my skin. But just as qu
