Natalie’s POV

“Actually… I’ve been dating,” Dylan said casually, like he was commenting on the weather.

I blinked. Once. Twice.

Emma nearly choked on her drink. “Excuse me—what?”

Dylan lifted a shoulder in a careless shrug, a faint smile tugging at his mouth. “Dating. You know. Seeing people. Nothing serious.”

The words hit me with an unexpected rush of… relief? No—more than that. Genuine happiness for my friend.

“That’s great,” I said automatically, and realized I meant it.

Emma, however, was already leaning forward, eyes alight. “You do not get to drop that bomb and then skate past it. Pictures. Now.”

Dylan laughed. “Absolutely not.”

“Oh, don’t even try,” she shot back. “You’ve seen every questionable man I’ve ever dated. This is only fair.”

“I object to the word questionable,” Dylan said, pulling out his phone anyway. “Some of them were objectively terrible.”

“You loved them,” Emma replied sweetly.

“Temporary insanity,” he muttered.

He scrolled for a second, then turned the screen

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 193 – Preparing for Love and War

Brandon’s POVNathan does not belong anywhere in York International. And now he’s in my boardroom. That was my first thought when I walked in and saw him already seated at the table, arms crossed with a smug expression on his face. He looked as if he owned the place. Ugh. Why did I agree to this? Nathan and I had never gotten along. We’ve never even liked each other. But Natalie had asked, a voice in my head reminded me. Yes, I couldn’t say no. She had a point, after all. “If we’re serious about containing this,” she’d said earlier, calm but firm, “then Nathan needs to be present. Graveswell has pieces we don’t.”I hadn’t argued—but I hadn’t liked it either.Nathan glanced up as I took my seat, a faint smirk tugging at his mouth like he knew exactly what he was provoking.“Let’s get this over with,” he said.I ignored the comment and nodded to Elena. “Start.”Elena tapped her tablet, the room settling into a tense, expectant quiet as the screen at the far end of the boardroom li

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 192 – Just a Little Longer

Natalie’s POVI parked a little farther from the lakehouse than usual, my heart beating faster than it should have. For one ridiculous second, I half-expected Brandon to jump out from behind a tree or call my name from the porch, and I let out a soft laugh at myself as I stepped out of the car.Get a grip.Of course he wasn’t here. I’d timed it carefully, made sure enough hours had passed after our call. His car was nowhere in sight, the driveway empty and quiet the way I needed it to be.Still, the thought flickered—unwelcome and persistent. What if he came back? The idea sent a strange rush through me, equal parts anticipation and panic. I pushed it away quickly. Brandon wasn’t like that. He respected boundaries, even though he didn’t really know his “ex-wife”. And yet.Things were different now.Since the scrapbook.Since the way our words had started answering each other, unfolding in ink. What if he now insists on meeting with me? Maybe I shouldn’t even answer him anymore in tha

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 191 – Sudden Visit

Brandon’s POVI woke up with the strangest sense of calm—and the most inconvenient ache in my chest. The date replayed itself before I even opened my eyes. The shopping, the paint, the laughter, the billiards game… The way the night seemed to stretch without either of us trying to hold onto it. How we’d walked to the parking lot together, hands full, steps slow, neither of us quite ready to say goodbye.I remembered standing there under the mall lights, the space between us charged and obvious. I’d wanted to kiss her. God, I’d wanted to. The thought had sat right there on my tongue. But I hesitated. And Natalie—graceful, unreadable Natalie—had just smiled, soft and knowing, and said goodbye like she understood exactly what I was doing. Or not doing. This Sunday morning, I didn’t have anywhere to be. I was tempted to visit her at her home, but that would be too soon, right? It might scare her off. I didn’t plan to go to the lakehouse, though. But somehow, I just… found myself turning

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 190 – Not Accidental Anymore

Brandon’s POVWe stepped out of the shop with the gift bags between us, the soft rustle of tissue paper sounding far louder than it should have. That was supposed to be it.I should suggest something else, I told myself. Anything. Coffee. A walk. Another store. Because if this ended here—if the highlight of our time together was shopping for someone else’s wedding—that would be… pathetic.Natalie shifted the bag in her hand and looked at me. “So,” she said lightly, “where do we go now?”My heart kicked hard against my ribs. She wants to stay, I thought. She’s asking.“I—” I started, then stopped, scanning the mall like answers might be posted on the walls. And that was when I saw it.A new storefront we definitely hadn’t passed earlier—bright signage, splashes of color across the glass, people inside zipped into plastic coveralls, laughing as paint flew in every direction.Natalie followed my gaze. Slowed. She studied it for a long moment, expression thoughtful rather than impulsive.

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 189 – One Day Wasn’t Enough

Emma’s POVBy the fourth day back, I had convinced myself of the story. That Maldives had been a pause in real life. A pocket of unreality where sunsets were too perfect and feelings came too fast. That whatever Lucas and I shared had dissolved somewhere between the flight home and his silence afterward. No calls. No explanations. Not even polite good-morning messages. Well, what did I expect? This had happened before that first time we slept together. And the second time too. I groaned. When will I ever learn? This guy doesn’t take any woman seriously. So that morning, when I stepped out of my apartment and headed toward the small café downstairs—the one I stopped by almost every day for coffee and something warm—I was already braced for the usual. It’s over, I was telling myself. Just like a dream. Disappointment has a routine. I’d learned it well.So just imagine my shock when I saw him there! Lucas was standing just outside the café, hands shoved into his pockets, shoulders te

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 188 – Unexpected Date

Natalie’s POVI said yes.Not smoothly. Not thoughtfully. Just—yes, tumbling out of me before my brain could catch up and overanalyze it to death.Brandon froze for half a second, like he hadn’t expected the universe to cooperate. Then his smile broke wide and unguarded, the kind that made his eyes crinkle, the kind that didn’t belong to the composed CEO I knew at work.He also turned visibly red.Like—actually red. Ears, neck, all of it.“Okay,” he said, nodding once. “Great. That’s—great.”I laughed, because he looked both triumphant and mildly traumatized, standing there with a bruised ego and a shoe that had almost betrayed him completely. We started walking without any real direction, the mall stretching out around us in polished floors and passing conversations. After a few steps, he reached over and wordlessly took the kettle box from my arms.“You don’t have to—” I started.“I insist,” he said. I snorted. “The old one died heroically. In a cloud of steam. So I got a new one t
