Dillon’s POV

How to propose?

That was the number one question on my mind. In fact, I spent so much time thinking about it, I was driving myself a little crazy.

I knew I wanted to marry Cassandra. I had no doubts now. She was everything to me, and even though our relationship had moved forward at lightning speed, it just felt right. So I wasn’t worried about how soon it was.

I also wasn’t worried about her answer. I knew she’d say yes. Cassandra and I fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. We clicked. We had a rhythm, her and I. And I was excited to spend the rest of my life with her.

We had similar dreams for our future. Travel. Owning a sailboat. Advancing our careers.

Right before Cassandra and I became an item, I’d been feeling really burnt out at work. I’d just sort of lost my passion for the whole corporate world. I was irritated during meetings, and tired all the time. So, I’d toyed around with the idea of doi

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 274: The Police Station

Cassandra’s POV I went with Jordyn and Stanley to the police station the next morning for moral support. Even though it had been a long night, we all had a nervous energy. Part of me still couldn’t believe Jordyn was doing this. I mean, Vivienne was his mother, even though she was a really shitty one. There had to be a part of him that was sad about all of this.If everything worked according to plan, Vivienne would be behind bars later that day. It was surreal to think about. That woman had made my life miserable for so long, it was almost inconceivable that she was finally getting what she deserved.I was really proud of Jordyn for finally standing up to his mother. I hated that it had to be like this, and I’m sure he’d need a lot of therapy after sending his mother away to jail, but he was giving himself the chance at a new start, and a life without his toxic mother.I was also happy for Howard. He deserved to have Stanley’s company, just as he deserved a life without his a

Dillon’s POV Everyone listened as I explained how this would all work. The plan was to hit Vivienne with everything at once.“If we file the court order to force a reading of the will, we can force the reading by tomorrow afternoon,” I said.“That’s fast,” Jordyn replied.“Yes, it is. But it’s done all the time. For situations like this, or in situations where certain family members can’t be found, and so on. Anyway, Vivienne will be notified that the will is being read with or without her. The executor of the will take care of that for us. Knowing Vivienne, I’m sure she’ll show up. Meanwhile, Howard and Jordyn will have already gone to the police station to officially press charges. You can both notify the police of Vivienne’s whereabouts and ask them to refrain from arresting her until the will is read. Again, it’s not that uncommon to wait until a will is read before someone’s arrested.”“Okay. So we have to go to the police station first thing tomorrow morning?” Jordyn

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 272: The Plan to Take Vivienne Down

Dillon’s POV I called Cassandra to fill her in on my phone call with Jordyn. Honestly, I was glad that he’d finally decided to take action. After Cassandra overheard the conversation at Stanley’s celebration of life, where Vivienne confessed to all the shit she’d done, we’d told Jordyn, of course. With Cassandra’s testimony and the evidence we had from my private detective, we had more than enough evidence to press charges against Vivienne for black mail, malicious bribery, kidnapping, and attempted murder. But at the end of the day, it had been Jordyn’s decision and Jordyn’s alone to make. So when he told us that he didn’t want to press charges, Cassandra and I had no choice but to support him. However, apparently he’d changed his mind, and I was happy that he’d reached out to me for help. I told Cassandra that we were all meeting at our place that evening: Stella and Cameron, myself and Cassandra, and Jordyn, Jordyn’s father, Howard, and Laura.

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 271: Lawyer Up

Jordyn’s POV I called Cassandra to tell her that the reading of the will had been postponed, yet again. She was sympathetic.I hung up, feeling despondent. My mother was playing games. Again. Somehow, Vivienne had caught wind of the fact that my father and I had hired a lawyer to contest the will, once it was read. I was sure that Stanley had left the company to her, and she was going to take it from my dad and give it to that lover of hers, Brock. My dad and I were going to fight it, and now she knew. So, in true Vivienne fashion, she’d refused to come to the reading of the will. I was infuriated. My father had worked very hard for my grandfather. He deserved to have the company. My mother was a criminal! She’d been the master mind behind Stanley’s poisoning and she’d tried to black mail Ellie. Ellie was hardly innocent, but Ellie was currently serving time for her crimes. My mother was not.And now she was trying to

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 269: Laura’s Offer

Cassandra’s POV “What?” “Pardon?” Stella and I both said at the same time. Laura shrugged, a huge smile plastered on her face. “I have lots of money. It’s really no big deal. I just sold an app I developed. Huge payout. So if you’re in a bind, I’d be happy to help you out.” Stella and I glanced at each other. An app she developed? I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. This woman was a goddess at pretty much everything. But I was hesitant. I didn’t really feel comfortable borrowing the money from Laura. On the surface, things between Laura and I seemed to be better. She seemed genuinely friendly towards me, ever since the Red Rock Canyon. I was willing to embrace her new friendliness, and I sincerely hoped that Laura was done with all the bullshit. I wasn’t particularly happy with my botched hair, but my stylist had done her best to cover it up. And for my drugged drink, well…maybe she’d just had a lapse in judgemen
