Jordyn’s POV

I pulled the fish out of the oven and tried not to gag at the smell.

Ugh.

I fucking hated fish. I mean come on, who ate things that had gills and scales? I’d always been revolted by the thought of eating fish. They just seemed so…dirty.

But Laura loved fish. It was her favorite food, so, like the good boyfriend I was, I’d made her fish for dinner. I figured I’d just chug some wine and muscle through a few bites.

Things were going so well with Laura, I could hardly believe it. I’d been pretty pissed when I found out what she’d done with the contract, but after her explanation, I had to admit – it made sense.

She had way more business acumen than Stella and Cass combined, and she was offering to help them. Even if it HAD been a strange way to go about it.

My mind turned to thoughts of Laura as I squeezed lemon onto the fish. Her glossy, black hair. Her thick eyelashes. The curve of her breasts. He

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 387: The Illusion

Jordyn’s POV Cassandra didn’t like it when I warned her about Sebastian. I could see it on her face. She was insulted. She didn’t come right out and say it, but the moment the words came out of my mouth, I regretted them. I was insinuating that I thought she was capable of cheating on Dillon. She hated that. She fell silent, her eyes averted. Fuck. I shouldn’t have said anything. Now she was pissed at me. So my warning did nothing to help the situation. If anything, it only served to make her more defiant. I tried to back peddle by telling her she was a grown woman and I wasn’t going to tell her what to do. But it didn’t help. So I just shut my mouth. I would stay glued by her side like a magnet until we left the next morning. And I sure as hell wouldn’t say another word about it. I could tell Cassandra was confused. She was attracted to Sebastian but she didn’t want to be. I knew the feeling all too well. W

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 386: Choke Hold

Jordyn’s POV I hadn’t expected to run into Sebastian. He smirked at me and my blood boiled. We stopped and stared at each other for a moment, the tension between us palpable. Then, without thinking, I lunged at Sebastian, slamming him up against the wall. I held him there with my elbow over his throat.“I know what game you’re playing,” I hissed at him. He looked at me indignantly, but he didn’t struggle. “Don’t even THINK about laying a hand on her,” I threatened.“Or what?” he asked. My elbow was firm against his throat. Not firm enough to cut off his breath, but firm enough to threaten to do so.“Or you’ll fucking regret it,” I saw through clenched teeth.“I highly doubt that,” he replied with a smirk.“She’s engaged,” I told him.“But not to you,” he countered, his tone amused. His words hit me hard. But I refused to show Sebastian that. There was more beneath the surface of his words.“Kindly step down and let’s talk about this like gentlemen,” Sebastian said. “You’re no gentle

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 385: A Shiny Heart

Jordyn’s POV Blaire had grilled me during our walk through the maze, without seeming like she was actually grilling me. She asked probing questions about my marriage to Cassandra, and then about her relationship with Dillon. At first, I’d been confused by her questions, until I realized… Blaire wanted Cassandra for her son. She confessed that she was worried about Sebastian, since he didn’t seem to want to settle down anytime soon. She was his heir, and she was concerned about Sebastian’s reputation with women and what that meant for her family name. She claimed that he just hadn’t met the right woman yet, and that when he did, he’d turn around. “He has a shiny heart,” she’d told me as we walked side by side. “He just needs the right woman to polish it off.” What the hell?! I highly doubted that her son had a ‘shiny’ heart like she claimed. In my opinion, he had a cold, dark heart. But she was his

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 384: I Know the Type

Jordyn’s POV Our trip to the palace had come out of nowhere. One moment, we were sitting at a little café, a dozen shopping bags at our feet, sipping lattes. And the next, we were in a limousine, gliding over the French countryside. I’d heard Cassandra talk about Blaire several times. She was in awe of the ‘dutchess’ from France who ordered custom made dresses that cost more than an average person’s entire rent for the year. She seemed to have some sort of connection with the women even though they’d only met in person once. She told me they were ‘fast friends’, or kindred spirits. Honestly, Cassandra gushed over Blaire, claiming that Blaire was one of the most interesting, captivating, and sincere people she’d ever met. So when Blaire invited us both to visit her, Cassandra had jumped at the opportunity. I had my reservations though. I mean, we didn’t really know these people at all and we were in a foreign country. But it became glaringly obvious v

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 383: Paris Cassandra

Jordyn’s POV The thought of going to Paris with Cassandra had me torn. On the other hand, of course I wanted to go. I knew it would be a memorable trip and I adored spending time with Cassandra. But on the other hand… I knew it would be hard, since I had such strong feelings for Cassandra. But, maybe it would be like ripping off a bandaid. I had to get used to being around her and NOT acting on my feelings. So at the end of the day, I decided to take the opportunity. Maybe if I spent more time with her as just friends, my feelings would start to dissipate. Cassandra was like a different person in Paris. She had a wide smile on her face, and she took everything in with so much curiosity and wonder. She marveled at everything, from the cobble stone streets to the architecture to the food. She didn’t even attempt to speak French, she left that up to me, but she listened to the foreign language intently. The villa was magnificent, as

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 382: The End of the Ball

Cassandra’s POV “Sister?” I said, surprised. But Antoinette had referred to Blaire as Blaire. And throughout our entire stay there had been no mention of a sister. “Step sister,” Sebastian explained. “She’s the product of my mother’s third marriage. Her husband already had a child, Antoinette. She was twelve when our parents got married.” That would explain why she didn’t call Blaire mom. “You never mentioned her,” I said. “She just came back today from a trip abroad. Alaska, I think, but I could be wrong.” “Does she live here, at the palace?” I asked. “Yes,” Sebastian said. “What about her father?” Sebastian sighed. “When the marriage ended, Antoinette stayed. I think my mother felt sorry for her. Or guilty.” “Why?” I asked. “Because her father died in a hunting accident,” Sebastian told us. “It was the only one of my mother’s many husbands that she tr
