Cassandra’s POV

Cam, Stella, Dillon and I all gathered in the hallway outside our rooms. We were on our way to a charity auction hosted by the cruise ship. After the strange meeting with Brock and his wife, we’d spent the afternoon at the pool. We’d left Dillon behind since he was knee-deep in networking, but I’d been thrilled when he joined us poolside a little later. It had been a fabulous afternoon and our faces all bore signs of the sun we’d basked under while lounging by the pool.

Stella had taken forever to get ready. She put on one dress after another, discarding each one in a huff. She’d finally settled on a low cut, form-fitting red dress with cute, black polka dots. I opted for an emerald green silk slip dress with an exposed back. It fell to my just above my knees and the color reminded me of Dillon’s eyes.

“Well look at you two,” Cam exclaimed, kissing us both on the cheeks. He’d had all afternoon to sober up and he looked charming in his pin-striped suit. “Aren’t we the lu

Jordyn’s POV Laura stole Cassandra’s speech. I don’t know how she did it, but it was written all over Cassandra’s face. No one else noticed though, since all eyes were fixed on Laura. But I saw it. I saw the way Cassandra’s face went pale the moment Laura started talking. I also knew by the tone of the speech that it wasn’t Laura who had written it. The speech had ‘Cassandra’ stamped all over it. I was surprised that no one else could tell. I watched Cassandra as Laura delivered her speech. Even from where I was sitting, I could see Cassandra’s hands shaking. Jesus fucking christ. It was a low blow, stealing a speech that Cass had written for her best friend and her brother. But in hindsight, I wasn’t that surprised. It was exactly the sort of thing Laura would do. Cassandra was nervous when she took the mic. I didn’t blame her. No one else knew, but she’d been put on the spot, rattled

I was painfully aware of how quiet it was in the ballroom while everyone waited for me to start my speech. You could hear a pin drop. I swallowed, my heart pounding in my chest. I glanced at Stella’s expectant face. I had no idea what I was going to do. I felt like an idiot, standing there in silence. “Um, hello,” I started. The mic gave a loud squeal of feedback that made me recoil. ‘Come on, Cass, get your shit together,’ I told myself. This was exactly what Laura wanted, to derail you. Don’t let her win. Think of something to say. No one knows Stella and Cameron better than you.’ “I always wanted a sister.” The words came out, surprising me. Stella nodded. So did several other people in the crowd. “But I was stuck with Cameron,” I blurted out. This made several people chuckle. ‘Okay. Yes. Good. That’s a good start.’ “But I guess Stella’s stuck with him now, hey?” More people laughed. This helped

Cassandra’s POV I sat back down, swallowing my anger. It was supposed to be my turn at the microphone, and Laura had just butted right in there. But what could I do? I couldn’t exactly tell her no. She was already making her way to the microphone. So I plastered a fake smile on my face and sat back to listen to her little ‘speech’. The moment her first words left her mouth though, my blood froze. “Some people say love is fragile, but I disagree. Why? Because I’ve seen firsthand how strong love really is. The love between Cameron and Stella is unwavering, unbreakable, and the furthest thing from fragile you can possibly imagine.” I stared at Laura in shock. Those were MY words. That was how MY speech started. What the actual hell? Laura continued, reciting my speech verbatim. MY speech that I’d spent so much time and energy on. I’d written something that was from my heart, something real and raw. S

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 412: The Surprise

Cassandra’s POV Stella had dreamed of having snow for her wedding. But since we’d moved up the wedding date, there wasn’t going to be any snow. It was the one thing I couldn’t give her. Or at least, that’s what I thought. It was a simple solution, really. Jordyn came up with the idea, and once he told me, I honestly didn’t know why I hadn’t thought of it myself. The ballroom had a little terrace area outside, attached through French doors. It wasn’t a big space, but it was big enough for what we needed. Jordyn had arranged everything, and as we stood waiting to be announced for the wedding party grand entrance, Jordyn assured me that the surprise was in place. “What surprise?” Stella asked again. “Never you mind,” I said to her. “You’ll see.” We all took our places, lined up outside the doors. Dillon had to escort both me and Laura, since Cameron was with Stella now. But whatever. All the guests h

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 411: Downpour

Cassandra’s POV Stella and Cameron barely got out their vows before the sky opened up and the rain started to fall. “Oh my God!” Stella laughed, trying to cover her head with her hands. “I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride,” the Justice of the Peace said quickly. It was a torrential downpour and guests were already standing up. Cameron scooped Stella up in his arms and dipped her backwards. Their lips locked in a passionate kiss, their first kiss as a married couple. The rain streamed down their faces, but they didn’t care. They’d done it. They were married now. The guests erupted into applause. Dillon took off his jacket and rushed towards me, covering my head with it. Everyone was getting drenched under the dark skies and the wind was blowing fiercely. Tears streamed down my face, although you couldn’t tell because my face was so wet with rain. “Your dress,” I exclaimed as Cameron put

Cassandra’s POV “You ready?” I asked, clasping Stella’s hand in mine. We were standing side by side, hidden from view from the guests in a little room with massive French doors that opened up to a small staircase. The staircase descended down to the garden where guests were seated on either sides of an aisle. Dillon and Laura had just made the descent down the stairs, arm in arm. No one else saw, but Laura gave me a sly smile when she linked her arm in Dillon’s. Of course I hated the fact that Dillon was escorting Laura down the aisle, but I pushed it out of my mind. Besides, I was escorting Stella, which was a huge honor. What did it matter if Laura walked down the aisle with Dillon? Dillon was mine, not hers, despite whatever Laura thought.Everyone else had already gone. A violinist was playing a sweet song as the wedding party walked slowly down the aisle and took their places at the front of the crowd. The sky was
