Third person pov

The morning sun spilled through the wide windows and the sheer curtains into the bridal suite. Delilah sat in a high-backed chair, facing the vanity mirror and looking like an angel in a pearly-white silk robe with lace-trimmed sleeves. The glam team buzzed around her with a dedicated focus. One stylist curled her hair into soft waves, pinning them gently so they’d fall just right under her veil. Another brushed peach-tinted blush across her cheeks. The makeup artist leaned close with steady hands, tracing liner over lids that blinked a little too fast.

“Just a few more minutes, darling,” the makeup artist murmured, her touch as light as a feather. “Your skin is just perfect.”

The soft scent of jasmine from a vase on the dresser mingled with the aroma of strong coffee in the whirlwind of activity.

Delilah offered a small smile, her gaze fixed on the city’s views visible from the window. Below, the world was going about its business, unaware of the important occasion

Delilah’s pov I woke the next morning to the smell of brewing coffee. The room was flooded with bright, cheerful sunlight, and for a moment, I forgot where I was. Then I saw him, standing on the balcony, a steaming mug in his hand, a phone pressed to his ear. He was dressed in a simple, crisp white linen shirt and dark trousers, his back to me. My husband. He ended the call, and as if sensing my gaze, he turned and his eyes met mine. The corner of his mouth curled up in a soft smile. “Good morning, Mrs. Knight,” he said, his voice a little husky.I smiled back, a warmth spreading through my chest. “Good morning, Mr. Knight.” A wide yawn escaped my lips. “What time is it?”“Late enough that if we were normal people, we’d have missed breakfast.” He walked over, leaned down, and kissed me. “But since we’re not, I had the staff bring something up.”“You’re spoiling me.” I said and he chuckled. When I was done with breakfast, Calix walked over to my side and cleared the tray. “You should

Delilah's povThe wind curled around us, carrying the scent of seasalt and citrus trees from somewhere down the cliffside. I leaned into his embrace, my back against his chest, the warmth of his skin chasing away the evening chill.I turned in his arms, my hands finding their way to his face, my fingers tracing the line of his jaw. The wind, still whipping my hair around my face, made my eyes water a little, but I didn’t care. The world faded into a soft blur. There was only him. When I kissed him, it was slow at first—just a light press against his lips, the kind of kiss that said I was not ready to let the night end.Calix deepened it, one hand cradling up my neck while the other pressed low against my back, holding me firmly against him. The moment I parted my lips for him, the kiss turned hungry, almost impatient.Without breaking the kiss, he scooped me into his arms, and I let out a surprised laugh, my arms wrapping around his neck instinctively. I felt safe, cherished, and comp

Delilah's povThe sunlight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the suite and it felt too good. The air smelled of flower petals and champagne. I blinked softly as my eyes fluttered open. The bridal suite, our home for the past two days, was a beautiful mess. Bouquets in every corner. Champagne flutes with smudged lipstick stains left on the side tables. Calix’s tux jacket was sprawled out on the floor like it had been thrown there in a rush and my wedding dress was draped over the plush armchair.I stirred, and the weight of an arm tightened around my waist. Calix. He was still asleep, his breathing deep and even against the back of my neck. I smiled. This was it. This was the morning after. The first day of forever.I wiggled a little, wanting to turn and face him, but he just pulled me closer.I relaxed into his hold, my silk robe slipping open at the thigh as I did so. “The room looks like a flower shop and a bar had a baby.”“And yet, you’re still the most beautiful

Delilah's povThe large, wooden doors opened to reveal a ballroom the size of my entire restaurant, a grand space with a high ceiling glinting with crystal chandeliers that looked straight out of a royal gala and polished floors that reflected the soft light spilling from the large windows. I stepped in cautiously, my heels clicking against the wood, eyes scanning the open, echoing space. It was quiet, except for a low, instrumental track playing from a portable speaker in the corner, a gentle melody that felt romantic.“Okay,” I said, turning slowly to look at Calix who was casually leaning against the wall like he hadn’t just pulled a literal fairytale out of nowhere. “What is this?”He straightened, walked toward me, his hands tucked into the pockets of his black slacks. No tie today. Just a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a grin I couldn’t quite understand.“Our wedding dance rehearsal,” he said, as if it was the most normal thing in the world.“You rented an entire bal

Delilah’s povWe left Cakes and Crumbles with a sense of accomplishment and a sugary buzz. As we walked out onto the street, Calix’s phone buzzed with a notification. He pulled it out, and the look on his face shifted instantly.“I have to go,” he said, his voice suddenly all business again. “Urgent meeting.” He sighed in slight frustration. “I’m sorry, Delilah. I was looking forward to this afternoon.”I squeezed his hand. “It’s okay. We got the cake, that’s the important part. Go. Be brilliant.”"You sure you don’t need me to come with you?" he asked, hand on the door.I smiled. "We’ll be fine. Go be a boss."Naomi gave him a mock salute. "We’ll text if we find anything ugly."He leaned down and kissed me, a quick, tender kiss that spoke volumes. “I’ll be back as soon as I can. Text me when you’re done with the dress shopping.”He laughed and got in. Naomi and I waved him off as we got into the other car waiting for us at the curb. Our next stop was Seraphine Bridal, one of the most
