Stone drove his car at a moderate speed even when there were not any traffic in front of them. He didn’t want to attract attention. He also didn't want to scare the woman sitting beside him.

The woman sitting next to him was looking out the window, watching the streets that they were passing by with wild eyes. From the reflection of the car’s window, Stone could see her pale face. She was still trembling like a dry leaf in the wind, and Stone feared she would faint if she continued like this.
