Eloise woke up early in the morning. The bright sun slipped through the large window of the guest room, warming her skin. As she stretched and yawned, her eyes landed on her opened suitcase, and a sigh escaped her lips.

She had no more clothes.

“gosh!” she muttered. She hadn’t brought many clothes to Damian’s place, thinking it would just be a weekend visit. Now, everything was either worn out or dirty.

After brushing her teeth, she made a quick cup of tea in the kitchen and paced a little thinking. Then an idea came to her.

“I’ll ask Lira if she wants to go for a quick shopping trip,” she said to herself, heading towards their room.

But just as she reached their door, she paused.

“What if they’re still sleeping?” she whispered. “I shouldn’t disturb them, I should let her enjoy her love life with her husband..... It's too early to wake couples up.”

With a small chuckle, she turned around and left the house.

A few minutes later, she flagged down a cab and asked the driver to take her

Harold and Serena left the meeting room and drove home. When they got home, the tension between them was palpable, and the silence that filled the house wasn’t comforting. It was sharp, cold, and expectant, like the air before a heavy storm.Harold slumped into the living room and sank onto the couch. With his phone in hand, he began scrolling without interest. His face was a perfect blend of exhaustion and detachment. His lips were pressed into a thin line, and his eyes were distant. He barely noticed Serena approaching. She didn’t speak at first, she just stood across the room, with her fists being clenched, there was a fire burning in her eyes. Then, without warning, she marched across the room and snatched Harold's phone from his hand."Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?" She barked, her voice was loud and shaking with rage. "Were you blind to what just happened back there at the family meeting?"Harold blinked and looked up at her, he was startled but not shocked. "Didn’t you see t

Lira’s POVWe stepped into the cool luxurious interior of the restaurant, and I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. The noise faded and was replaced by soft music and the clinking of glasses.A smartly dressed waiter bowed slightly and gestured toward a reserved area. “Welcome, Blackwood family. Right this way.”We followed him past rows of diners, and I noticed some still staring, whispering, some even sneaking photos. But it didn’t bother me. Because I wasn’t just Lira the actress.I was Lira Blackwood, Damian's blackwood wife. The waiter stopped at a beautiful VIP booth near the glass windows. The gold lettering on the table read: Reserved Blackwood Family.I blinked at the name tag, it was lovely.Damian pulled out a seat for me before taking his own beside me, then Eloise sat across from us.When I looked at her, she suddenly winked and smiled.I couldn’t help it, I winked back.I leaned back into my seat, took Damian’s hand under the table, and smiled.Just then, th

Damian pov.In the car, I sat behind the wheel while Lira took the passenger seat beside me. Eloise sat quietly in the back, scrolling through her phone like always. The silence at first was strange and heavy. Lira hadn’t said a word since we left the room. She just stared out the window calmly. I glanced at her hand resting on her lap, then gently reached over and held it in mine, giving it a light squeeze. “Babe... are you alright?” I asked softly. It didn’t feel weird calling her babe anymore. She is mine now, and I'm not planning to let her go. She turned to me with a small smile. “Hmm... I’m okay.” That smile. God, it always had a way of calming my nerves. “Wow, So no one cares about me anymore, huh? I left my father’s house, you know.... I need more love than anyone right now.” Eloise joked. "I feel like a third wheel""Then find yourself a boyfriend" i teased."I Eloise, hasn't found the love of my life yet. No guy can ever match my energy. Never" Eloise said, arranging

The Blackwood main living room had never felt this cold. Despite the soft golden lighting and the luxurious décor, the tension was thick, unspoken, and almost suffocating. Everyone was seated like guests at a funeral, no one smiled. No one dared speak, the silence was louder than any scream. Lord blackwood stood at the head of the room like a judge about to deliver sentences. His black cane rested beside his chair, it was unused but symbolic, it's a weapon he didn’t need to lift to enforce power. His expression was stone cold.l as usual. “Good,” he began, with his voice being sharp and unwavering. “Everyone is present, now let’s get to it.” His eyes moved from one face to another. Eloise, Damian, Lira, Harold, and Serena. “This family…” he exhaled sharply, "is on the verge of collapse, I built this name with my blood and sweat. And now, you children treat it like dirt beneath your shoes.” Then he pointed a stiff finger at Eloise. “Let’s start with you,” he barked, with hi

Damian’s POV: The dining room felt warm and calm, the kind of quiet you don’t want to break. Lira had prepared dinner, and we were all seated, Eloise was seated across from us, chewing slowly while scrolling through her phone, and Lira was beside me chewing her food quietly. The food was good, but my focus wasn’t on the taste. It was on her. Her hair was pulled loosely to one side, with a few strands brushing her cheek each time she bent her head. She didn’t talk much during dinner, but there was a softness in the way she moved. Just then, my phone buzzed on the table. I picked it up, and the screen lightened at my face. A message appeared on the the screen, it was from father. He had dropped a text in the family group that there would be a family meeting, and everyone is expected to be present at the meeting tomorrow. Almost immediately, Eloise’s phone chimed too. She glanced at the message, then at me. “You saw that?” she asked. I gave a short nod, still watc
