What have I done?

Othon's actions left me completely bewildered. He simply ignored my decision and took control of the situation, even after I made it clear that I wasn't ready to reveal the truth yet. I did plan to tell, yes, but not at that moment. Nervousness overwhelmed me, and the gaze of my son and my mother only increased the pressure, leaving me unsure of how to react.

Emotions churned within me, and my mother seemed to notice.

"It seems like this is an important matter. We'd better talk about it in the privacy of our home," she suggested, with a compassionate expression.

I wasn't ready yet, but Othon didn't give me a choice. I couldn't make up excuses or tell more lies because I knew that would only make everything worse in the future. With a defeated sigh, I agreed. There was no more escaping it. Together, we all entered the house.

"I'll call Átila," Mom announced. "Please make yourself comfortable, Dr. Arraes."

"Thank you," Othon replied, settling on the couch, closely followed by Otáv
