Maxim led me out of the car and into the event. Everything was boisterous with chatter and music playing in the background. The marble floors shone, and the chandeliers provided immaculate light that made the place look magical.

All eyes were on us as soon as we entered. It must have been because Maxim was the Pakhan. I wasn’t sure that I liked the attention, though. Ever since I left home, ithe dea of someone finding me and reporting back to my father crippled me.

It was more now that I was with Maxim. He could expose me to Maxim just to see me die a slow, excruciating death. No one went against Alfonso, and I had done exactly that.

“This is a mafia event. Everyone here is very dangerous. Stick close to me and don’t talk to anyone.”

I nodded my head and looked straight ahead. I didn’t want to talk to him at all after the words he had said to me in the car. He invalidated all my feelings and everything he and I had shared.

He treated me the same way a man treated his girlfriend and t

“Why did you kick your right hand away? What are you going to do? Are you going to assault me?” She asked, and a look of disgust showed on my face. That wasn’t something I would do, forgive, or allow any of my men to do. If they did, they were to be exiled and killed from the Bratva. That was such a disgusting thing to say.But the fact that she said told me something about her. She was Russian, and she thought that was what the Bratva did. That meant she had been around when other Pakhan was still ruling. He was that type of man.I heard so many stories from men who would give anything to bring him back to life just to kill him again. It made sense that she knew him because she was much older than me. She could be my mother, and yet, she was stupid enough to cross me.“I don’t do that, beautiful. Didn’t you hear? I changed the rules after the other Pakhan died. I removed slavery and the sale or exchange of flesh. That’s a disgusting trade that should not exist in the first place. Tha

  • Don Maxim's Plaything   Vadim's Final Chapter

It didn’t take long for Vadim to break. It was very pathetic how he caved under pressure. He couldn’t even take a little bit of pain. He spilled his guts every chance he got. He cried like a baby, and fainted a couple of times.Nikita woke him every single to he could torture him some more. He was the first man we had tortured who was that easy to break. Some women had even held out longer than he did. He bled like he had a can full of blood in his body that was ready to be popped open.I wanted to laugh at him, but nothing was funny about all he had put us through all those years. To think he was nothing but a cry baby who could easily be scared by a little pain was very disappointing to say the least. I couldn’t believe we had been duped by a man who was that weak.It was very pathetic. He told us that he had been sent to destroy our reputation to ensure there was no one who would want to work with us after they found out we killed our close associate. He then admitted that he had b

  • Don Maxim's Plaything   A Sorry Woman

“You have no narrow down who you are talking about. There are many people who have crossed me, and I have skinned them for it. I always keep souvenirs. I hate liars and people who think they can outsmart.”“Don’t we have someone in the basement who tried to outsmart me for years, and his time came?” Nikita asked. She spilled the tea she was spilling, and she looked like she wanted to cry.“I’m sorry. I am so sorry.”“What are you sorry for, beautiful lady?” Nikita asked.“For…for spilling tea…for everything.”She didn’t want to say anything in case we didn’t know what she had done. She was still acting like a fool and lying. I hated torturing women, but I wasn’t above it either. If she didn’t willingly tell me what I wanted to know, I was going to have to do it.Nikita never crossed that line, but I had no morals.“Do you think you are smarter than me?” I asked. She shook her head and looked at the floor.“See, I think you do. There is no way you took my car and you thought I would no

  • Don Maxim's Plaything   He's Caught

“You thought you would kill Morozov and frame me for the murder by taking my car and sending him a text saying it’s me going to his house because you know I use multiple burner phones. I am not stupid.”“He was the only person I cared about in the alliance, and I will not let you walk out of here a free man, thinking you have one over me. I will make you pay for everything you have done, and you will soon realize why people fear me so much.”“You fear me too. You just pretend you don’t, and for a moment, you even lost that fear because you realized I would never touch you as long as you held that video over my head. Now that it’s gone, I am curious about what you will do.”He started walking backwards, thinking he would get away and be able to escape because he had men who were holding guns at us. He should have asked them to cover up so that we would not discover which gang they came from. That was a mistake he made, and he was going to regret it.That was one of the many reasons why

  • Don Maxim's Plaything   It Brags

He was speaking to me and referring to Nikita as less than. I had never met someone as delusional as he was. He thought he was more important than he was, and I didn’t know who was fueling his delusionsI would be happy to be that delusional because it would solve a lot of my problems and reduce stress. Vadim was the definition of someone faking it until they made it. He embodied that phrase very well.“You need a reality check. I don’t know what makes you think you can talk to my right hand the way you want. You are the one who is beneath him, and the Bratva will never be yours because you are not powerful enough to rule. You will forever be a pawn in people’s games and a person that no one ever wants around.”“Get off your high horse and come back to reality. There is no reality in which you are powerful. That’s a dream that you will never have.I was triggering him on purpose so that I would make him angry enough that he would unravel. Men like him deserved to be brought down to Ea

  • Don Maxim's Plaything   Cocky Bastard

When I walked down, I found Sonya and Nikita hugging like they hadn’t done that in a long time. I had known that she would forgive him easily because it wasn’t someone sinister who had paid him to kill her motherThe definition of a sinister person depended on the person you were asking. Most people thought her father was the most sinister man to walk the earth. He was even more ruthless than I was or that I would ever be.But Sonya didn’t know that side of him, and to her, he was her hero, and I loved that for her. For me, my father was a nightmare, and it was like that for most of the people in the mafia. Livia was the same. Not many people were lucky enough to have great fathers who did anything for them and protected them from anything. Morozov was a good father figure, but he was a terrible person if you crossed him. And I was going to take pages from his book when dealing with Vadim. When they saw me, they pulled away, and Sonya glared at me as she crossed her arms against her c
