Chapter 7

Jolene's POV…

“So we are going to start with running around the woods to and fro, we will do this everyday, so we can work on your speed. After this, we will move to your personal training center that has been built specifically for you. There is a lot of training equipment there, do you want to take a look?” Harrison suggested and we both strolled to the woods.

It was 6:57am in the morning, the pack members were still asleep, making the surroundings hushed.

Harrison proposed we start our training early in the morning, he said that was the best time to start.

“After running around the woods,” I replied simply.

We finally got to the woods and I took a deep breath.

“You are going to run after me, so I can know how many minutes it will take you to run to and fro in the woods. It's not going to be easy being your first time,” he said, and I exhaled sharply.

“Whatever, I am ready,” I replied boldly, and he took out his timer watch.

Whatever sacrifice I am going to make that will enable me to conquer my weak self, I will sacrifice it.

“Let's start!” Harrison ordered and began running.

In a twinkle of an eye, he was out of my sight like a flash, I was amazed at his speed, he moved with the wind.

“Let's begin, girl,” I boosted my morale and began running with speed and strength.

I hadn't even got to half when I fell flat, breathing like I just run a thousand-meter race.

I looked around for Harrison, but he wasn't in sight, this only means I need to go further until I see him.

Gosh! This will not be easy, but what can I do?

I stood up on my feet and began jogging down the woods.

After about six more minutes, I found Harrison waiting at the end of a stream.

“Come on!” Harrison urged with a wave and I kept jogging until I got to him.

I sat on the floor after getting to him, I kept breathing heavily as if I were going to run out of breaths.

My stomach hurts too, I have never run this long distance before in my life.

“It took you fifteen minutes to get here,” he informed, checking out his timer.

“And I guess it took you just five minutes to get here,” I said, looking up.

“It's a minute actually,” he corrected with a silly smile and I faced him swiftly.

“What! You mean just a minute, and you're not even feeling tired, sweating it even breathing heavily. Like, what the hell!” I yelled and he chuckled.

“You still have to run back to the spot where you started running from, get up and begin. Your time starts now,” he said and disappeared.

Yes, I would say he disappeared because how is it possible he ran out of sight within a few seconds?

Gosh! I can't just wait to attain that kind of ability!

“You're so mean, I am tired!” I yelled, hoping he would hear me.

He must be a strict trainer, he didn't even allow me to rest for a few minutes. I don't think I can even move any part of my body not to talk more of running for an extra fifteen minutes? I am just going to faint!

Never thought the training was going to be this difficult, I just started the basic training, and I am complaining already?

What if I start the main training? I would just lose consciousness, my bad!

“You can do this, girl, let's go!” I encouraged myself and after saying that, I stood up on my feet and began running back.

I didn't run up to two minutes before falling flat on the ground.

Gosh! I don't think I can do this anymore, my legs hurt like hell! .

If I tried standing, I would just fall flat.

This is torture, not a training! Where the hell is Harrison? I can't do this anymore!

I tried sitting up and rested my back on a tree, I am not running again, I will just wait until Harrison shows up.

“Harrison! Harrison!” I yelled, but my voice didn't go that far.

I am only relaxed because I know he would come look for me once he notices I have stayed too long.

I rested my head on the tree and closed my eyes, the woods were silent like a graveyard, I could only see tall trees and some unwanted plants all around.

I suddenly heard a growl and my eyes flinched open, was it Harrison?

I tried to get up but fell back immediately, my body seemed too heavy for my weak body.

The growl grew louder, and I became alarmed, it is a Lycan roaming about or what!

Suddenly, something sprang in front of me and I screamed.

I looked up and was shocked at what I saw, it was a rogue looking so shabby, abandoned, and hungry.

My heart flew from its normal position, I began crawling backwards in fear and the rogue moved menacingly towards me.

“Harrison!” I screamed as my heart raced wildly.

I was scared to the peak, I have known rogues to be wild creatures, they are always hungry and would eat anything they come across, be it human or even a young wolf of their kind.

Tears spilled out of my eyes as the wolf drew nearer, where the hell was Harrison or did he plan to allow me to get eaten up by a wild and hungry-looking wolf?

The wolf growls louder, ready to feast on his prey, I happened to be his prey unfortunately.

Is this how I am going to end without achieving all my plans? This is just the cruelest way of dying, I prefer dying by jumping off a cliff than getting eaten up by a rogue.

There's no way I could run because my legs were too weak to do that, the wolf suddenly sprang on me and I shut my eyes immediately prepared for anything that happened.
