Chapter 6

Jolene's POV….

I took a sip from my glass of wine while watching everyone celebrate and dance wholeheartedly.

My father surprised me with a welcome back feast after introducing me officially to his pack.

I was surprised at their warm reception, the respect they were paying to me because I was their Alpha's daughter was something else.

It looked as if they had been waiting for me to show up all these years, they are wonderful and loving.

The hall was filled with hundreds of lycans celebrating, dancing and jubilation.

The music coming from the speaker was enough to burst one's eardrum, I am not a fan of feasts or parties, but what can I do?

I can't tell my parents that I am not interested when the celebration is all about me.

I just had to celebrate with them all.

I was dressed in a white body hugged dress that flayed from my knees, my hair was decorated with a lot of designated pins.

I looked more like a princess and I love that feeling, though the heels made me uncomfortable.

I looked at my parents and noticed they were carried away with receiving congratulations from the pack members.

I stood up without their notice and went to the balcony of the last floor of my parent's mansion.

Staying up there will allow you to have a foresight of the whole buildings in the pack house.

It also feels so good staying up there, I won't be able to hear the loud music except for the faint beats of the music.

I took a deep breath and rested on the rails as the cool breeze blew through my adorned hair.

It's still like a dream, I never imagined that I would turn out to be the daughter of a lycan king.

The world is just full of surprises, I can't wait to become strong and then get my own Lycan.

The thought that I will be the next Lycan king makes my heart leap for joy.

I just can wait to put Maverick and every other person that thought I was weak to shame.

He is surely going to ever regret saying those mean sentences to me that unforgettable night.

My mind drifted to my foster parents and I wondered how they are faring, I bear no grudge against them, I am not even angry that they kept my real identity away from me for years.

I believed they did that, so I wouldn't feel like I wasn't part of them, I guess they would be so worried about me.

They would be wondering the reason for my sudden disappearance and I know they will still go seek help from that sheep in wolf clothing.

I am referring to Maverick, no one would ever know that he was the reason for my disappearance.

He should wait for my comeback, I can only imagine the shocked expression on his face when he sees who I truly am.

“Hey!” I suddenly heard a masculine voice and I turned swiftly, I wasn't expecting anyone to come here. I just waited to be alone and enjoy the cool air,

I was surprised to see a tall guy standing in front of me with a glass of wine in his hands.

I couldn't deny the fact that he was so handsome, but Maverick was more handsome.

Gosh! Why am I even comparing him with that son of a bitch!

Was he at the feast celebration because I haven't set my eyes on him before?

He had light-brown eye color which I guess must be natural, he appeared so cool.

“I am Harrison, the Beta's son and also your trainer.” He introduced and stretched his hands for a handshake, which I received warmly.

Now I know who he was, My parents had told me earlier on that he was going to be my personal trainer. He has gotten his Lycan and is one of the strongest Lycans, he is also very skillful.

My parents thought that getting a personal trainer will help me adapt quickly, he looks fit for it.

“I am …” he interrupted me immediately.

“Jolene, the lost but now found daughter of our Alpha.” He said and I chuckled slightly.

“Nice meeting you,” I smiled at him, and he did the same.

“Can I join you?” He requested and I nodded positively. Having someone to speak to is not bad, I won't feel lonely anymore.

He rested on the rails beside me and silence ensued between us.

I didn't like the silence and decided to start a conversation with him and at least know a few things about him.

“So tell me about yourself, I need to know a few things about my trainer.” I teased and he smiled.

His smiles are heartwarming, but not like Maverick, his smiles melt my heart and makes me mesmerize over it.

“You're doing it again,” my wolf whispered and I exhaled.

I wish I could just wipe out every memory of Maverick in my head!

“Nothing much, I stay indoors most of the time and do go into the woods for self practice. That's all I do all day, but I don't think I would be doing that anymore since I have someone to train.”

“Wow, such a cool personality,” I commented, and he smiled shortly.

“By the way, you look ravishingly hot in your new dress,”

I blushed that instant,

“Thanks and you aren't that bad too,”

“Well, thanks, how do you see the werewolf world? Tell me a few things about them, how was life there?” Harrison asked curiously, and I took a deep breath.

“Life wasn't fair, I felt so depressed because I was weak like a human to the extent my foster parents began to think I was a mere human. Not to talk more of the fact my mate rejected me because I was weak, he said he wanted a strong Luna to rule his pack with him, not some weakling.” I explained and sniffed, trying to hold back my tears.

Anytime I remember the way I got rejected, I get hurt so bad because his mean words won't stop replaying in my head.

“I am sorry if I triggered a bad memory, let's stop talking about it then.” Harrison said, but I faked a smile instead.

“No, I am fine, I want to talk about it. Living all your life believing that you're a weakling is the worst feeling ever, who would have ever thought I was the daughter of a true Lycan?”

“That's life,”

“What about you? Haven't you gotten your mate, or did you get rejected too?” I asked curiously while facing him, and he took a sip from his wine.

“The moon goddess doesn't choose our mates for us, we choose our mate ourselves. I am still wondering how you were mated to a werewolf when you're from the Lycan kingdom, it's rare to see a Lycan getting a mate from the moon goddess.”

“My father said the same thing also, maybe it's just fate. So, did you choose your mate yet?” I asked, going back to my question.

“No!” He replied simply, and I wondered what could be the reason.

He is handsome and body built, there are a lot of ladies who would be dying to have him.

As if he read the puzzled look on my face, he spoke up.

“I haven't found my choice yet,”

“Really? She will come by,” I said and gulped down the whole content of my glass.

Thankfully, it was a non-alcoholic wine because if it was not, I would have been drunk by now.

“You're the opposite of your sister, you're cool.” Harrison suddenly blurted out, and I looked at him swiftly.

“Sister!” I exclaimed, almost yelling.

“Oh sorry, that was actually a slip of the tongue, I meant you're different from other Alpha daughters I know.” He said, and I took a deep breath.

Was it really a slip of tongue?
