Emilia’s POV

“What do you want exactly, Adrienne?” I asked. My fingers scratched beneath my office table.

“You.”

“You can't want me. I am married. Why can't you get that?”

“You don't seem married to me. Richard flocks around with women, you strip, and it looks to me like you both are just trying to impress the cameras.” He was still tossing the pen.

“Our personal life is none of your business.”

“Right! I am not trying to get involved. Just make sure to give me good shows whenever I want, and we're fine.”

I hit my fist on the table violently. He raised his eyebrows at me.

“I'd strip for you.” I agreed.

“One hour.”

One hour? I can't do that.

“Thirty minutes.” I tried to negotiate.

“Ohh Lina… You have to abide by my rules.”

“Adrienne, I can't stay out for too long, Richard might notice.”

He scoffed. “Thirty minutes it is.”

He stood up, and he walked out of my office, my eyes pierced him. I wish I could just gauge his eyeballs out.

He was a fucking psychopath. I ran my hands through my hair.

Ohh fuck! I just made the worst negotiation of my life.

I thought the day would be good, but it turned out to be one of the worst days of my life.

Adrienne didn't stalk me for the rest of the day, or maybe I just did a good job avoiding him.

Richard wasn't home when I got back. I waited for him to get back just like a loving wife would. But in my terms, I wasn't being a loving wife, I wanted him to get back so I could drug him, and so he could see that I was home early.

When he got home, it was almost midnight, and I had fallen asleep. I was woken up by the noise of him slamming the closet door.

“You're home,” I said in a sweet voice.

“Yes,” he replied plainly.

He was probably out with his friends, and they must have been ‘flocking around with other women’ just like Adrienne said.

I knew Richard cheated. I have smelt countless perfumes on him, I have seen different shades of lipstick on his shirt, but I wasn’t bothered.

I never for once challenged him.

I waited for him to get changed, and for him to take his ‘medications.’

He sat beside me on the bed, while I administered him drugs. Richard was asthmatic, and I was his personal doctor, so I got the privilege to handle his medicine.

He took it all in with a large gulp of water, while I smiled within me.

He fell asleep in ten minutes. I quickly got dressed, and I snuck out of the house.

This had become a routine, I could almost do it with my eyes closed.

I changed into a red lingerie, and the makeup artist did my face.

I took a look at myself in the mirror. I was a bit satisfied. Being a stripper was a lot better than being Mrs Sinclair.

I wore a matching red mask, and I stepped out. The noise from the crowd almost blasted my eardrums, but I was used to it.

I stepped onto the stage, holding the pole. The shameless men cheered.

I started performing, going down on my knees, and trying to be as practical as possible.

But I wasn't feeling it, I wasn't getting the flow I wanted. It felt like I was being forced. I wanted those burning pair of eyes on me. I wanted his eyes to scan my body like I belonged to him.

I wanted to perform for Adrienne. As much as I hated him. I do not know why I was feeling this way.

The minutes I spent on the stage felt like hours, as a sweet rush of relief washed through me when I finally got off.

I went to my dressing room feeling a bit eager— eager to strip for him.

A message popped up on my phone screen. I glanced through it.

Unknown number: Come to the first private room on the top floor.

It would be no one other than Adrienne. I stood up, I fixed my hair, my mask, and I proceeded to the private room.

I knocked on the door when I got there.

“Come in,” his deep, yet calm voice rang.

I pushed open the door. He was seated at the corner of the room, he wasn't wearing a shirt, and the luminous light fell on his perfectly toned skin.

Fuck! I was here to seduce, but I am getting seduced instead.

I catwalked to the pole. His eyes followed my every movement. This was exactly what I wanted— the chill that ran through me anytime he fixed his gaze on me.

I went low at first. My curves had always been my greatest assets, because I could drive any man crazy with them.

I trailed my fingers up my body; from my pelvic area right to the middle of my boobs.

I turned, and I worked my hands up the pole, arching my back, and sticking out my ass.

He smiled… dangerously.

I loved it.

He stood up. I knew he would. He walked up to me, his eyes never for once leaving my body.

“Richard has such bad luck,” he said.

I thought he was going to whisper something seductive. Why was he bringing Richard into this?

To hell with Richard anyway.

He raised his hands to touch my thighs. I didn't stop him this time, I let his warm fingers graze my skin.

It felt good… It felt really good. Richard’s touch was never like this. I wouldn't feel even a spark with him. Does he even bother to touch me?

"You're married Emilia, you shouldn't be letting another man touch you,” my conscience reminded me.

“You're crossing the limits, Mr Adrienne,” I said, finally regaining my will.

He took his hand off my body, and instantly I missed him.

He stepped back a little, and I continued dancing, using the opportunity of him being close to mess with him. He would probably get hard.

“Take off your mask,” he said.

“I can't,” I replied.

I couldn't risk it. He could have installed a secret camera or whatsoever. He can't be trusted.

“I won't rat you out. You're of good use to me.”

I just had to take his word for it. I took off my mask. He smiled— the smile looked genuine this time.

“It's so good to have the beautiful Mrs Sinclair stripping for me,” he said naughtily.

“And it's even better watching the almighty Adrienne Coal get pleasured by me.”

I looked closely into his eyes, they gleamed brightly under the dim.

“What if I want to fuck you, Emilia?” he whispered in my ears.

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 77 — THE COVER ALMOST BREAKS

EMILIA’S POV I returned to the hospital through the side entrance, hoping the quiet hallway would help me settle my thoughts before facing another busy day. Adrienne had left the apartment several minutes before me, just as we planned, but my body still remembered the warmth of his hand and the way he had looked at me before I walked away. I kept my eyes lowered as I moved through the corridor, pretending to be more interested in the patient files against my chest than the people passing by. Then I heard footsteps behind me, followed by a familiar voice calling my name. I turned and found one of the junior nurses smiling at me. “Doctor Emilia, you and Doctor Adrienne came from the same direction this morning,” she observed casually, tilting her head as though she had only just noticed the coincidence. “Were you both attending to an emergency somewhere?” My stomach tightened, but I forced a small laugh and adjusted the files in my arms. “Not exactly. We were both coming from the s

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 76 — THE SECRET DATE

EMILIA’S POV Adrienne’s message arrived just after sunrise, while I stood before my wardrobe, wondering what kind of day I wanted to have. He asked me to meet him after work, and unlike his recent messages, this one mentioned no patients, files, or emergencies. It was personal, and that simple difference made my heart beat faster than I expected. When I entered his car, I immediately asked where we were going. Adrienne glanced at me, amused, before pulling away from the hospital parking lot. “You’ll find out,” he promised, keeping one hand on the steering wheel. “And before you ask, we’re not going to my apartment.” His answer made me curious, suspicious, and strangely excited. “Why not?” I asked, turning toward him with a small frown. “You’re the one who invited me.” Adrienne’s expression softened as he watched the road. “Because I don’t want every moment we share happening behind a locked door. I want one day that isn’t connected to fear, secrecy, or Richard.” His words touched

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 75 — THE FIRST MOVE

ADRIENNE’S POV I had barely finished my morning rounds when I opened the hospital security report again. The faint trace of disinfectant on the blackmailer’s photographs had stayed in my mind for days. It could have meant nothing, but I had learned not to ignore small details when someone was deliberately hiding the truth. “Doctor Adrienne, are you looking for something specific?” the security supervisor asked, standing beside my desk with a tablet in his hand and a cautious expression on his face. “I need access records for restricted staff information,” I replied, keeping my voice low. “Not patient files. Staff schedules, employment records, private contact details, anything that requires special permission.” The supervisor frowned. “Why do you need that information?” I slid a written request toward him. “Because someone may be using hospital access to gather information about one of our doctors. I don’t want the staff alerted yet. If the person knows we’re watching, they’ll st

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 74 — THE FALSE FRIEND

EMILIA’S POV The club looked exactly as I remembered it, loud music shaking the walls, colored lights flashing across the crowded room, and strangers laughing as though nothing terrible had ever happened. I stood outside Justin’s office, reminding myself that I had not returned to relive the past. I was there because someone was using that past against me, and I needed answers. Justin looked up when I entered, surprise crossing his face before concern replaced it. He pushed the papers on his desk aside and leaned forward. “Emilia, what are you doing here? You should have called first.” I closed the door behind me, keeping my expression calm while studying his reaction. “I wanted to speak privately, Justin. This couldn’t wait.” He pointed toward the chair opposite him, his eyes moving over my face as though searching for an explanation. “You look worried. Is something wrong?” I sat down, keeping my handbag tightly against my lap. “Someone has been blackmailing me,” I answered, watc

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 73 — THE EMPTY SPACE

EMILIA’S POV I told myself Adrienne’s distance was necessary, that I had no right to complain when I was the one refusing to make a decision. Still, knowing something was necessary did not make it hurt less. His silence followed me everywhere, filling the spaces between my thoughts and making even the busiest hospital corridor feel strangely empty. At work, I caught myself looking for him without meaning to. I glanced toward his office whenever I passed the doctors’ wing, slowed down near the consultation rooms, and listened for his voice during morning rounds. Each time I remembered he would not be waiting for me, something inside my chest tightened. “Are you looking for someone?” Janet asked, appearing beside me with a file pressed against her stomach, her curious eyes following the direction of my gaze. “No,” I answered too quickly, adjusting the papers in my hands. “I was only checking whether Doctor Williams had arrived.” Janet raised one eyebrow. “Doctor Williams is in the

  • Double Life of Mrs Sinclair   CHAPTER 72 — THE DISTANCE

ADRIENNE’S POV Adrienne noticed Emilia before she noticed him. She stood near the nurses’ station, holding a patient file against her chest while pretending to listen to Janet. Her eyes kept moving toward his office, waiting for him to look up. He did not. He forced himself to remain focused on the report in front of him, even though he had already read the same sentence four times without understanding it. “Doctor Adrienne, the laboratory results for room twelve are ready,” Janet informed him, placing the file on his desk with a careful smile, but her eyes moved between him and Emilia as if she could feel the tension neither of them was willing to explain. “Thank you, Janet. Please leave them here, and remind the nurses to monitor the patient’s temperature every two hours,” Adrienne instructed, keeping his voice calm while he avoided looking at the doorway where Emilia had finally turned away. He had not stopped caring about her. That was the problem. If he had stopped caring, d
