Chapter 5 I Won't Spare You Next Time

But soon her mother's situation drove her thoughts and shock away.

She followed Song Shuang to escort Hu Hui onto the ambulance.

When she was about to get on board, she was stopped by the paramedics, "I'm sorry, Miss. But only relatives of this patient are allowed to get on the ambulance."

Gu Baisheng wanted to tell them that this was her mother, but the place was so crowded. She didn't want to be the subject of research because she came back to life using another person's body, so she had to bite her underlip and gave up.

But she was so worried that she stopped a taxi quickly and asked the driver to take her to Beicheng Second Hospital.

When she arrived at Beicheng Second Hospital, Hu Hui was taken into the emergency room.

And the nurse told her that Song Shuang followed her in.

Gu Baisheng had complex feelings when she heard so.

She had no choice but to marry Song Shuang. After they got married, Song Shuang knew that she loved someone else, so he didn't ask much from her.

They had been acting like strange bedfellows until her son died.

She fell out with Song Shuang and moved out because of the death of her son.

Although he refused to divorce, she felt that there were no feelings between them, and they were less than strangers.

She also thought that Song Shuang would not feel too much about her death.

For her family, he would show no concern after her death.

She didn't expect that Song Shuang, the son-in-law who was never liked by her mother, was the first one to take her mother to the hospital when bad things happened.

She waited anxiously outside the emergency room.

She had no idea of how long she had been waiting when the lights inside the emergency room went off.

The door opened too.

Gu Baisheng rushed to the doctor and grabbed his arm before she could even see his face under the mask, "How is my... my auntie?"

The tall male doctor threw a cold glance at her and took her hand off his arm without hesitation. Then he took off his mask and talked to her with an indifferent look, "I don't remember my mother-in-law having a relative like you."

He was very good-looking.

He was handsome and gentle, just like what golden boys are supposed to be.

His eyes and eyebrows were very beautiful. His eyebrows were long. He got slanted eyes which seemed to be dicoria. They were too deep and serious to look at directly.

Gu Baisheng always felt so pressured when she was with him.

He used to be a straight-A student in the medical university. And he was one of the most famous people in the past decades of this century-old university.

She married him, just like a nobody marrying into a powerful family.

She was also like a pheasant who became a phoenix after marrying into the Song family.

She kept her distance from Song Shuang and never tried to please him because of this unequal marriage.

Her insecurity grew bigger inside her and finally became the unbreakable gap and wall between them.

She was so afraid to be looked at by him so coldly because she could see indifference and disgust from his eyes.

After she married Song Shuang, that was the look that she was most worried to see when she was dreaming at midnight.

She couldn't help but step back. She frowned and explained awkwardly, "Well, I knew Mrs. Hu when I did my internship here."

Song Shuang frowned with his elegant eyebrows as if he had seen something dirty. He warned her coldly, "Forget about it! Even if Gu Baisheng is dead, you can't get close to me with a similar name. Stop using your tricks and stay away from her family! I won't spare you next time!"

Gu Baisheng looked at his handsome but cold face. Her heart twitched suddenly, and she held the corner of her top with her fingers.

Song Shuang glanced at her coldly and walked straight away.

Gu Baisheng stood here and suddenly realized that the real Song Shuang was not the tolerant and gentle man as Gu Baisheng's husband.

This was the real him.

This cold and heartless man, who could hurt others like a knife.
