Engagement in the Family

"Greetings brother, ok congratulations, tell us when you want us to be there and if you need anything from here, surely we'll be there next week, of course I'll bring Navi along, do you remember Sukh ? Her son is also here of course they'll also come, ok give my regards to all" saying so she ended the call.

"Aunty, anything special,", asked Hardeep

" Yes, Gurdeep's daughter is getting engaged next week, we all are invited, do pack your bags and you Navi keep your evenings free from tomorrow onwards, as we have lots and lots of shopping to do,!!!" Radha was overwhelmed with happiness.

" Aunty let me check my schedule and I'll let you know whether it's possible for us to go as Navi has also been appointed by dad as my personal assistant, you know delegates are coming next week, sorry to be such a spoilsport" Hardeep was really feeling bad. " Still, I'll try to attend the function, if possible!"

Mandeep interrupted," no pressure beta, work before self has been my policy, I admire your work style."

Navi was also consoling Radha, " bua g relax, at least we can go shopping, we will buy the gifts and I'll help you in selecting suits, matching bangles, and jewelry for dear cousin. Now let's have an ice cream before it becomes liquid." The mood was lightened up.

Hardeep was impressed with Navi's efforts.

After finishing their cones of ice cream everyone went to their respective rooms for sleeping.

After some time there was a knock on Navi's room, she thought maybe bua was there. " Bua g please come in". But oh no Hardeep entered the room, and took a deep breath seeing her in her pastel green night gown to her knees, she was brushing her waist long hair before sleeping.

" You, why are you here? " She quickly kept the comb and picked up the robe to wear.

" No I'm here just to say, I was impressed the way you handled Aunty's mood. By the way if you want to go you can submit your leave application, I'll approve".

" Why , thank you, but as uncle said, work before self , I'll go on marriage" " and no need to be so kind, got it, now you can go back" saying so, she went to open the door, "here I was trying to get along and you are being rude, hot girl, yes that's the right nickname I can think of". Hardeep inched forward almost closing the gap and whispered in her ear, almost brushing his lips to her already tomato cheeks.

" Hey you dare you tried again to kiss me , I'll call bua and tell her" she moved backward till her shoulders and hips touched the cold wall.

" So, you're missing the kiss, I can obligate you, but I wasn't planning to kiss you, but still if you want….."

Hardeep smirked and left the room leaving behind the fragrance of his aftershave cologne.

Navi was all flabbergasted by his behavior, she quickly bolted the door and took off her robe, kept it on the chair and slid into her bed. As it was early October, cold winds were blowing. Covered herself with the thin quilt and closed her eyes tightly as if trying to shun out the memory of her first kiss. But alas to no avail. The aftershave cologne fragrance lingered in her room, a reminder of the presence of the devil looks.

" Yes, that's the right name I can give you Mr CEO". Finally she drifted off to sleep with a smile.

Next morning again, she got up early and after taking bath, Navi wore yellow suit and went to kitchen to prepare breakfast.

By the time everyone came down, she already had her cup of coffee and was ready to leave, but Radha stopped her and asked whether she had her breakfast and packed her lunchbox.

" Navi, I knew it, I'm cancelling my trip, what will my brother say that I cannot take care of his darling daughter", " no, bua g, I had a sandwich and my cup of coffee. I was about to pack my lunch but .." Radha gave her one of her looks," ok, I almost forget to take my box and no need to call daddy and tell him , and don't you think of cancelling your trip, I promise to take care of myself." She dotingly hugged her.

"Don't worry aunty, I'll make sure that she takes her lunch box and eats her meals on time" , Hardeep said with a wink at Navi.

" Done, now we can enjoy our stay at your uncle's place". Radha said.

"Navi, why don't you go with Hardeep?"

"No buag I've to pick Ria and then together we'll go to office".

" Ok , take care, and be home by 6 pm in the evening as we have to go for shopping"

" Done", saying so, she rushed out and drove in her car, as the cleaner parked the car near the gates.

"Hardeep are you sure, you'll not feel uncomfortable as we both will be going tomorrow, your Uncle has got the tickets booked last night only. And can you excuse Navi today a bit early?"

"Aunty, trust me, I've no problems, we'll manage, and ofcourse she'll be free by 5:30 pm I'll make sure."

Hardeep also left for his office after bidding bye to her.

Once he reached the office, he took the elevator to reach his cabin.

After few moments of rest , he asked for his assistant by calling her .

"Yes sir, in coming". Navi said

When Navi reached his cabin she knocked and waited for his reply, he asked her to come in and picking up his phone he gestured her to sit, while talking to his dad who was one of the trustees and the owner of the company.

The call took around fifteen minutes to end and Navi was looking here and there avoiding Hardeep's eyes. Whereas on the other side, the call had ended ten minutes before and he was pretending to talk, while looking at his hit stuff, his beautiful assistant.

Navi patiently waited till the so-called call ended and asked him why he called her.

Giving her a schedule, he asked her to follow it after going through.

Navi saw what was written

First thing in the morning was a cup of hot coffee and then giving him the daily routine after discussing with the front office followed by the meetings and one clause was written in bold characters. It was 'personal assistant will be responsible at keeping all the other female liches at Bay and will be accompanying the CEO for outdoor meetings".

" What is this?" She asked with a frown.

" Actually, I want to talk to you about your position, here, see you were appointed by my dad and as you know I'm quite a handsome hunk so females keep on drooling over me, so as my PA you have to make sure that those gals should stay at Bay". " You can leave today by 5:00 pm as there's no workload and from tomorrow onwards you leave only with me, is it clear". " My hot stuff" , he muttered under his breath.

" Yes, dl I mean boss.".

" Your files are all ready for your signature and as per your schedule it was the first thing that I discussed with Ria, today you've just one conference call with the client overseas and a meeting with the upcoming firm which is into the perfume business, though being your personal assistant I don't have any details about the owners except that she's a known name in the film industry and a good friend of yours!"

She said sarcastically as when she was asking Ria about the client details, she said confidential, so Navi calculated two and two and upset her mood .

Hardeep was a man who could tell what was going on in Navi's head, seeing her reaction but he just smirked and said, " you've to accompany me to meet the client after 3 pm and as per your planning you can meet your aunt in the market after the meeting is over". Saying so, he gave her the file to get the presentation ready for the meeting.

All Navi could do was say yes and went back to her cabin to finish the presentation.
