Two bodyguards appeared almost instantly. Cassie recognized them. They were Briar’s personal security, the same men who did whatever he told them without question.

“Take her to the car,” Briar ordered.

“Briar, please—”

“Please what?” Briar cut her off, his voice filled with contempt. “Please let you embarrass me even more? Please let you continue this little performance in front of everyone?”

Cassie shook her head. “That’s not what I’m doing.”

“Really?” Briar gave her a cold look
