THIRD PERSON’S POV

Isabella paced up and down the room, her mind filled with thoughts. A deep feeling of uneasiness settled within her, and she fiddled with her fingers to calm her nerves while Kelvin watched her from the edge of the bed.

“Everything will be fine, Isabel.” He assured.

The night before had been a close call to a breakthrough for them. When Liora called to say that they would meet her up there, they feared at first that she was there with Mr Sands’s men.

But she wasn't.

Instead, she was dressed in a thong and bra and wearing heavy makeup. She had led them to a private room.

ISABELLA’S POVThe trial continued while I just sat there gently tapping my feet against the floor as the tree of nervousness in me sprouted higher and higher.I couldn't stop thinking about when the evidence I had brought would be used. The lawyers weren't saying anything about it.“We will take a five-minute break.” I heard the female judge say. She looked like she was in her forties and stunning. The lawyers nodded, and the Judge exited the room. I watched Alaric’s lawyers walk outside, and I followed, ignoring Kelvin, who had been trying to get me to calm down.“You didn’t say anything about the evidence.” I let out, anger soaring through me, watching them turn around to look at me.“I’m afraid it doesn't work like that, Miss. We need to know how you got that evidence; if not, we can't use it.” Miss Edda said, causing me to roll my eyes.Miss Edda had the fatty cheeks, and Miss Marigold had the slimmer face. I had picked that up every time they had to defend my man.“Does that mat

THIRD PERSON POVKelvin had booked the tickets, and in a few hours, they were landing in Alabama. Isabella’s heart was beating so fast all through, but she managed to steady herself. The taxi ride from the airport to the courthouse felt like forever, and with every second that ticked, it made her feel like time was running out on their side. She couldn't help but squeeze Kelvin’s hand from time to time, and although pain shot through him, he was more than glad to help. Finally, the courthouse loomed before them like impending danger as the cab came to a stop. “Are you okay?” Kelvin asked her as he paid the driver, and Isabella nodded. He nodded, and soon, they were heading inside the tall, imposing building. Isabella’s breath hitched as she caught sight of Alaric standing near the lawyers’ table. His underbags were visible now, and he had grown a beard within these past days. He seemed like he had aged a bit, yet she noticed his eyes softened when he saw her.Alaric felt a breath of

THIRD PERSON’S POVAuthor’s note: I’m sorry I made a mistake with the last chapter. The first stripper to walk out was the red-haired female, and the previous was the blonde female. Thank you for understanding.****The moment the sun broke through the sky, they were already in the car, heading towards the house of the red-haired female they had found out to be Liora Clinton. Kelvin had details of where she lived and worked, and in minutes, the car rolled up in front of her small apartment.Isabella was still thinking of what to do next when the door opened and she stepped out, clutching tightly onto the hand of a young boy. He wore a white sweatshirt, his red collar shirt peaking out, and black jeans with white sneakers on. He had a backpack on. She was dressed in nothing like yesterday. She wore a long-sleeved black gown that stopped above her knees with a button in front of it. “She has a child?” Isabella asked.“Hmmm hmmm.” Kelvin responded, “Follow her.” He ordered the driver th

THIRD PERSON’S POV“You can't just barge in, Isabel. You could get arrested.” Kelvin advised, while Isabella’s fingers remained clamped around the door latch.Isabella gritted her teeth. “He is right there, K. All we have to do is go in there and get his testimony.” Her voice trembled. They could hear the song booming from the house, accompanied by women's laughter. As if that wasn't bad enough, the upper part of his House was made of glass. Isabella could see those women dressed in LINGERIE of different colors, their bodies pressed against each other as they danced. The red-haired female grabbed the blonde’s boobs, and the blonde didn't seem offended. In there was a man who put her in a challenging position, yet he was free and unharmed. She clenched her teeth from the rage.“You and I know he won’t give that up for free.” He continued, now grabbing her other arm. “You won’t be able to save him if you are locked up. And if they know we are onto them, they will hide all evidence. We n

ISABELLA’S POVEven though he didn’t want me to leave him, we already stood in the airport. My luggage was in my right hand. Bianca had tried to talk me out of coming, too, saying I could watch the concert online and keep resting. She even said I stood the risk of danger, given how cruel my sister could be. But I was able to assure her that I would be fine. She had wanted to follow us here, too, but Alaric had managed to convince her to stay. I had heard the news that her husband refused to let her go, and I would never understand why. He didn’t even like her. Who holds on to someone they don’t even want?“I will miss you.” He whispered against my left ear as he pulled me close for a hug, pulling me away from my thoughts.I could have sworn that I heard his voice quiver. “Me too, boo,” I replied, dragging in air that had his sweet scent rolled in it. Something to last me till I get to the bottom of this. My heart ached at not seeing him for a few days. I had gotten used to his pres
