THIRD PERSON’S POV

“You can't do that,” Bianca yelled as her legs swiftly made their way to him. Her fingers remained clutched around his as she tried pulling him away. “You can't just show up here to arrest my son without a reason!”

The policemen looked at one another. What the family didn’t know was that Alaric had been on their radar for a while now, and the other day, when they had met, it had taken the policemen every ounce of self-control not to cuff him and turn him in so they would win the reward on his head.

With that magnitude of money, they wouldn’t have to remain strapped in this tight uniform of theirs or sweat their asses off for peanuts. They would have their lives set forever and live with any girl of their choice. Before they had both discovered what they had in common, they weren’t friends and barely even spoke to one another. But when you have a common enemy, friendship develops.

Only each of them had their dark plans set in place. They each vowed to kill the other

ISABELLA’S POVI pulled my eyes apart, my head aching as my hazy vision slowly fell into place. I let out a soft hmm the moment I registered my room. Then my eyes landed on him.Alaric. He was sitting on a chair beside me, holding my hand, and the memories came rushing in. The building collapsed, and that was the reason we went to the party.I sat up in a jiffy, causing a wave of weakness to hit me hard.“Easy.” He let out, his eyes warm and his voice tender.Yet underneath that, sat the dark circles under his eyes, a proof that he had emotions he was desperately dealing with.I could tell.“Did we get them? The truth, babe. Did we get the truth?” I let out in a breath and dragged in another. He was quiet for a while. “No.” He responded, and I gasped. “But I will sort it out.”“This is all my fault. I shouldn't have stayed to talk to Valeria. I should have known she was of no good. Now, you will…” My voice cracked as it dawned on me.He would go to jail. I had failed a simple task.My

THIRD PERSON POVThe bell rang through the house while Mr Wolfe sat on a sofa in the sitting room, finishing his scotch while flipping through his phone. The blogs carried everything that happened yesterday, and his rage rose again and again. His business was being dragged down, as most of his partners said he had too many dramas going on.He heard footsteps but didn't bother to look up because he knew it was either his useless son and his wife or Mirabella. Whichever one it was, he wasn't in the mood to see them. “Good afternoon, Mr Wolfe.” He heard a strange voice say, and he looked up to see a man dressed in a neatly pressed charcoal suit with a briefcase in his hand. “I’m here on behalf of Mrs Bianca Wolfe.”Mr Wolfe’s hand froze midway out of delight. He had known that she couldn't do without him and would come back to beg him. But he wouldn't give in easily. She would have to earn his forgiveness.“Tell her she can come to apologize herself.” He announced, sipping his drink. “

THIRD PERSON POVAlaric heart thudded against his rib cage as he threw one door open, then another. He had already searched four, and every single one was empty, causing his fear to rise. His breathing had gotten uneven as his mind reeled with what could have happened to her. He was about to call the police. Then he heard a man grunt, and he froze for a second; a million things ran through his mind, yet none of them said anything about his mind cheating. Kicking the door open, he saw Isabella lying there on the bed like she had no strength left while the stranger held onto his nose, which was now bleeding. She had headbutted him. The second her eyes took in her man; she let out a soft sob. Relief washed over her. “You sick bastard! How dare you touch what is mine.” Alaric snarled as he launched towards the man, grabbed him by the neck, and then slammed him into the wall. The man groaned as he struggled to be set free. His breathing stopped, and he could feel death knocking. He trie

THIRD PERSON POVValeria couldn't see her sweet sister anywhere, and she was starting to wonder if she had seen it all wrong.“Are you playing with me?” The man behind her said and grabbed her arm so roughly that she yelped.“You pervert. I’m trying to help you. Stupid.” She lashed out as she attempted to peel his fingers off, but his grip was firm. “Nobody wastes my time.” He warned, lowering his voice as he leaned in. Air was knocked out of her lungs because of the stench emanating from him. “You waste more time by stalling me. I knew my sweet sister came up here. She said something about liking you, and I just thought you do a good deed and bring you both together, but since you don't like that…” She feigned some sadness, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes. “We can return downstairs then.” His eyes bulged as his ego consumed him again. Just like always, a woman liked it. Letting go of her hand, he adjusted his suit.“Fine. Take me to her. I will compensate you.” He announce

THIRD PERSON POVAlaric didn't even want to be here, not after his arrest, but Isabella had insisted it would aid him in finding evidence against his father. And as much as she was willing to come alone, he couldn't let her.So here he was, draped in a Black tux and an old shoe, standing in a room where his bad guy was. Although he badly wanted to punch his face until his teeth fell off, he had to put his emotions in place. Isabella had dressed to fit in as well because the better she blended in, the better. Her bronze dress clung to her curves, with her golf earrings dropping low. A beaded bag in her palm. They had gotten an invitation, too, and at first, they wanted to refuse it, but they couldn't; getting on a business tycoon's nerves wasn't the best way out. Bianca had come too, dressed in a glittery gown and a bold heel with her hair tucked behind her ears. Her lips were painted in purple and nude shades. Alaric had tried to convince her to stay back home, but she refused.“Thes

THIRD PERSON’S POV“Do I know you?” She tried to sound as calm as she could. According to what she was taught by her mother when a man knows he has a hold on you or smells fear, he becomes worse. He grinned. “You can.” His finger trailed down her exposed right arm. “I couldn't help but notice you.” He continued while her breath had hung by now. “I know your type, and I can offer you what you want. Money.”Valeria took a step backward, but he closed in. She took another until her back hit the wall.“You don't want to do this.” Her voice quivering, she silently hoped someone would come save her. But deep down, she knew no one would because no one would even notice she was gone.“I can do anything I want, " he said, leaning in to kiss her when she moved her face away. “I’m pregnant. You don't want to annoy the Wolfe.” Her heart was racing so fast. She could visualize things going southway. He huffed and finally pulled back. “Fine.” She watched him walk away, and that was when she let
