MY PAST

BRITANY.

After their father took them up, I return home in tears, my house felt empty and I think back to how hard my life has been.

I flash back to my past which was two years ago.

I shut my eyes and think back to how I became entangled with Alex and his girlfriend Irene.

It all begins two years ago when my stepmom came back home to tell my stepsister about her boss who happens to be Irene needing someone to enter into a contract with her boyfriend who happens to be Alex.

He needs to be married before he can claim his inheritance from his uncle because that was the words of his father before his death.

He had previously approached his fiancée Irene who already sign a five year of no marriage contract with his agency. She had always wanted to be a renowned model that will walk on run ways for big brands and luckily she got a deal with a very big and international agency who agreed to sign a five year deal with so she came up with an idea of getting someone to marry him under contract so that he can get his inheritance and his father's company will be under his control.

When my mm told my step sister she agreed but Alex finds her way too young because she is just seventeen, Alex said he can't enter into a contract with a minor, my stepmom had to come to me to take the contract since I was nineteen at that time.

I thought about our situation at that time, my stepmom is the only one taking care of I and my stepsister and there is no help from anyone, we needed the money badly, I want to further my education to the tertiary level, my sister had a dream to become a model but she is always loosing the opportunity of going on auditions due to transport fare and my stepmom needs to relax from the housemaid job.

I agreed to take the offer if he accepts to sign a contract with me that when the contract is over we will travel abroad and start a better life.

I was taken to Alex and when we got to him the first thing he asked if was my birth certificate which I return home to bring and after the birth certificate he offer me the contract.

Irene, my stepmom were present during the contract and the money was transferred to my stepmom's account.

I was happy that after a year I would start a new life and I will be able to go back to school.

I and Alex got married in court and I moved in with him.

Whenever he is going to the lawyer we would always go together even though we live like co tenants in the house because we do not talk or do anything together because it was stated in he contract that I should stay only where I am ask to stay which is my room.

I have everything provided in my room because I was given a luxury room.

After seven months of staying with Alex, I realized I wasn't able to reach my stepmom and step sister on phone.

I pleaded with Alex to let me go to check on her and he told me he would take me there when we are coming back from the lawyer's office because despite marrying me , his uncle is still not ready to release his inheritance to him.

We went to meet with his lawyer together then he ordered his driver to take us to my home.

When we got to my home , I found out there was a new occupant of our house, I tried asking and I was told my stepmom sold the house and has relocated to Holland, I return to the car sad with tears dripping down my face.

Alex asked me what happened , I explained to him and he asked if I got any share from the money and I said no because I trusted my stepmom.

He didn't say a word to me, he told his driver to take us to a five star restaurant.

I refuse to get down from the car then he told me sitting in the car would never sort my problem.

He told me he would only help me if I decided to enter into the restaurant with him and cheer up with him.

I agreed , I was never happy but at least he tried to convince me.

I entered into the restaurant and he tried to cheer me up and he blamed me for not being smart enough to know that I should keep my money which I felt he was right.

Then he offered to help me go back to school, I was so happy and I cheered up, after the lunch at night he took me to club, I have never been to one before, after then he took me to many places , we went on so many dates and I began to feel like his real wife and he began to play his role like a husband.

Finally almost nine month of staying with him and he got his inheritance.

He came back home , he lift me up and twirl me around and he told me he got his inheritance, he then ask me to be his girlfriend which I declined because I didn't want to betray Irene.

At that moment that I was saying no, he kissed me and I couldn't even stop him because I wanted him than anything, I want him to make me a woman.

We had sex and promise never to let it happen again but we couldn't avoid each other for more than four days and we find our ways back to each other and we forgot all about the contract then we began to behave like couples until one day Irene arrived in announced and I had to sneak back to my room leaving my contraceptives in the room,they both traveled for a five days treat then I was stuck because I had no money in me, I couldn't get myself some contraceptive when he arrived I try to get contraceptives and take it but it didn't work, few weeks later I began to feel feverish and I decided to go to the hospital because I was having a pregnancy scare.

When I got to the hospital, it turn out that I was pregnant and I thought of letting Alex know about his baby even though I wasn't ready to be a mom.

I returned home and I met Irene at the sitting room with her legs crossed , she had a glass of wine and a a document and pen in front of her.

I greeted her and wanted to go to my room and she called me back.

I walk back to her and she gave me the documents.

" it's time for you to go, sign the divorce paper and leave this minute" she says.

" Yes ma " I said and took the documents and wanted to go to my room.

" Where are you going ? Didn't you hear me say sign the divorce paper and leave this minute! She screams.

Then Alex and his convoy arrived.

I was happy that he came in time that I will tell him about the pregnancy and that he had come to give me the money he promised.

Alex walked in and Irene stood up and embrace him, they kissed.

I greeted Alex and expected him to tell us to discussed but he said something that made me feel like a piece of garbage.

" Has she signed the divorce documents? He asked Irene.

" No, did you hear that sign the documents" she yelled at me.

" We need to talk" I said.

" We have nothing to discussed , we signed a contract and I already got my inheritance, I don't see a reason why you should be here" he said.

" You sign the divorce paper and go" he said.

" Sign the divorce paper and go away" Irene says.

Tears dripped down my face, both of them left me in the living room.

I picked the documents and signed in tears.

I left everything even my shoes and I run out of the house, I ran so fast and didn't know where to run to until it began to rain.

People were running back home but I had no destination.

It was late in the night I had no where to sleep, I slept in front of the Jonas restaurant till the next morning.

They saw me in front of their restaurant, they woke me up and helped me, they fed me and shelter in me in their restaurant until few months when they went bankrupt and sold it off, they settled me with some money that i thought would see me through when I put to bed but I had to go for cesarean section to save my life and my babies but at the end I had to give them up because I can't cater for them but I will do my best make my own money and I will get back my babies from their father and he will pay for the pains he and Irene caused me.
