~Lyric

The wind carried the scent of smoke and blood. My blood. Their blood. The blood Obsidian moon pack’s fallen warriors.

My claws dripped crimson beneath a sky that refused to brighten. The air was thick—tainted with the copper tang of violence and the rotting magic of rogues. Behind me, the great doors to the throne room loomed, tall and locked, as if they too understood what was at stake. I stood between them and Kade. Between what remained and what would be lost if I failed.

“Just me now,” I muttered as I saw my soldiers dead on the floor. I rolled my neck and letting the tension crack through my bones.

Across the ruined courtyard, Kade stood with his arms folded, watching. Waiting. That damned scar split his lip, making his grin look more like a wound. He wasn’t charging. No. He was letting them come first—his rogues, dozens of them, enchanted and frothing for blood.

Coward. He knew that I’d take him out if he faced me so he sent his men to but I will make sure I

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 47: Chains of Power

~Omniscient The flickering torchlight painted strange shadows along the dungeon walls as Lyric stood facing Kade. Her wrists, still raw from the shackles, rested loosely at her sides. Her eyes were narrowed, sharp with unspoken fury, but her body remained still—measured. “I want you to be my Luna,” Kade said simply. Lyric blinked. Once. Twice. Then scoffed, a low sound like steel scraping stone. “I’m already a Luna. To Aeron.” “The same Aeron that’s in my custody?” Kade laughed. “He needs more things than a Luna right now.” “It doesn’t change that fact that I’ve been claimed by him.” Lyric said simply. “In the days of old. The strongest wolves get to pick the best females through combat. The one that wins will get the girl of his choice. I won the combat and I pick you.” Kade said. “Why do you want me? You know I will never be loyal to you.” Lyric stiffened. “I like power and you—my dear… have an enormous amount of it. Power like that isn’t locked away. It’s utilized, r

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 46: The Weight of Moonlight

~Eira The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the emptiness beside me. I blinked against the gentle morning light filtering through the silk curtains, turning my head toward the vacant spot on the settee. No Ryan. No sarcastic remark about how I snore like a drunk goblin. Nothing. Just the subtle scent of moon lavender and the soft hum of magic that always clung to this palace like a second skin. Strange. I never realized I looked forward to seeing his smug face every morning. I sighed, sat up, and stretched. My body felt light for the first time in days. I actually slept—like really slept. Maybe it had something to do with the warmth I’d fallen asleep in… Ryan’s arms, steady and unshaking. I smiled faintly at the memory. After changing into a loose lavender tunic and dark leggings, I padded out of my room and headed for the training grounds. The courtyard was bathed in sunlight, marble stones gleaming beneath the rising sun, and at the far end, spinning a staff with alm

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 45: Shattered Paths

~Omniscient The fall was like being swallowed by a god. Aeron plummeted through the roaring throat of the waterfall, the air tearing from his lungs. Water smashed into him from every side, his body twisting like a leaf in a storm. He hit the pool below with a force that shattered stars behind his eyes. Something cracked. His vision blackened. Silence. Then, breath. Cold and painful. He choked, coughing river water from his lungs as a hand gripped his shoulder, shaking him gently. “Alpha… Alpha, wake up.” His eyelids fluttered open. He saw a face—mud-streaked, worried, familiar. Brim. Aeron coughed again, propping himself up on shaky elbows. The air smelled of wet moss, pine, and the faint sweetness of flowers blooming wild. They were in a clearing. Towering trees reached skyward, their canopies casting soft emerald shadows over them. Birds chirped cautiously from somewhere high above. The ground was slick with dew, the river they had emerged from cutting a winding path

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 44: Blood and Stone

~Omniscient The torches lining the narrow tunnel flickered wildly, shadows dancing along the jagged rock walls as Caelum stepped forward, alone. The guards didn’t hesitate. Five of them, all towering, all trained, lunged at him in unison with swords, fangs elongated and claws extended. Their boots thundered on the ground, war cries echoing in the tunnel like the growls of ancient beasts. Caelum didn’t flinch. He met them head-on. The first man swung a fistful of claws at his side. Caelum ducked, stepped in close, and drove his fist into the man’s throat with a sickening crunch. The guard dropped, gurgling, as Caelum ripped the blade from his grasp and threw it like a spear into the chest of the second attacker. Another came from behind. Caelum spun and lashed his claws across the man’s face, opening his cheek to the bone. Blood splattered the wall. The soldier howled and staggered back, but Caelum wasn’t finished—he seized the man by the shoulder, slammed his head into the st

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 43: The Divide Beneath the Stone

~Omniscient The tunnel was breathless. Cold, damp air curled around the jagged edges of stone, and every exhale of the hiding men felt like thunder in the silence. Aeron sat propped against the wall, his limbs sluggish as he adjusted to the weight of his own body again. He could still feel the echo of the dream realm in his bones, like a haunting melody he couldn’t shake. Commander Claud who was kneeling beside him was the first face he saw, his armor scuffed and dulled by dirt and ash. Lorian and Brim, the two lower ranked soldiers who had carried him and Caelum through the tunnels, crouched nearby, trying to keep quiet while listening for footsteps. “You’re safe now, Alpha,” Commander Claud whispered. “But barely.” Aeron rubbed his temples, then his eyes, and looked toward Claud, his voice gritty from disuse. “What happened? How did I get here?” Claud took a breath, as if choosing which truth to reveal first. “Obsidian has fallen, Alpha. Your brother, Kade arrived the nigh

  • Echoes of Moonfire   Chapter 42: The Tomb Beneath the Dream

~Aeron The dream realm burned. Silver fire tore across the sky like comets on a warpath, and the ground split in jagged, glowing veins behind us. We ran, the five of us, shadows cast in moonlight that pulsed from a goddess gone mad. Lira. No longer distant or veiled behind memory—she was real now. Material. And angry. I didn’t dare look back, but I could feel her there, gliding above us, her steps never touching the ground. She wasn’t running—she floated, drifted like some vengeful phantom. Her hair coiled behind her like a whip of starlight. Her eyes held no warmth, only judgment. “Keep moving!” I shouted, vaulting over a fallen arch of twisted crystal. “She’s gaining!” Serik barked behind me, his breath ragged. A bolt of light exploded near my feet. The force sent me sprawling. I hit the ground, rolled, and pushed myself up again. “She’s toying with us!” Tamar shouted, ducking another beam of moonlight that carved a fissure through the terrain. “We’re not even worth
