Alice’s Point of view
"Oh, you. I swear I'm going to get up and throw you against the wall. I'll slice you in half with my daggers, slash you with my claws, finish you off with a baseball bat and put what's left of you in a blender!" I scream at this machine of evil.
The doctor enters at the same time. "Alpha Alice. Who are you talking to?"
"To your heart monitor of doom! The beep is driving me crazy!"
I see him panic. He hasn't forgotten what I did to the last one. "Please calm down. The angrier you get, the faster and louder it beeps and the more it annoys you. It's a vicious cycle that you can only break by calming down." He tells me softly as if he was talking to a child.
I urge myself to calm down and the machine resumes a slow beep. "Please tell me you're going to let me out."
"Unfortunately, yes. You've healed incredibly fast and the Ki
Elliot’s Point of view"Do we really have to?" I ask, trying once again to tie my tie."Yes, it says so on the invitation. 'Tuxedo for the gentlemen and evening gowns for the ladies.'" Says Simon as he ties his knot easily."This is ridiculous." I say as I toss my tie onto my bed.I don't understand why we have to dress this way. Tuxedos belong to the past. Today, people wear canvas pants with casual sneakers, a white shirt, and a blazer. And by no means ties."Don't worry, you look great like this." Says Owen as he ties my tie."I know a certain lady that will fall right in front of you." Simon whispers in my ear.I shoo him away with my hand and look at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a blue navy suit with a white shirt and a dark red tie, almost like the color of my hair. I paid a little visit to the pack hairdress
Alice’s Point of viewI reluctantly follow Derek into a private room. Cassie is giving me a headache because she wants us to stay with Elliot and no matter how much I remind her why it's impossible, she doesn't budge.I sit down on one of the couches and Derek sits down next to me. He looks embarrassed and that doesn't sound good to me."Uh. Alice. I have something to tell you."Oh no. No no no."I heard rumors that our fathers wanted us to mark each other."That sounds more like a statement than a question but I nod. "Yes I've heard rumors but my dad never told me anything about it.""Well, mine did when you were in the hospital. Apparently, they've been talking about it since we were kids because we've always been so close. They thought we'd be fated mates and they were disappointed that we weren't. So was I." H
Alice’s Point of viewI look at Elliot, pleadingly. No good excuse comes to me and I pray that he has more imagination than I do, but he is as dumbfounded as I am.Another person arrives with a book and a glass of rum in the hand."Alice, Elliot, I think I've got it." Says Prince Benjamin. What the hell is he doing here?"Oh, Goddess! Prince Benjamin! I'm so sorry I didn't see you!" Rose says, bowing slightly. He looks at her, his face hard. He is very tall and finely muscled. His dark suit brings out his golden hair and his ice-blue eyes, almost white."I'm sorry young lady, but we are busy." He says emotionlessly as he walks over to our table to put down his glass and a very thick green book that looks ancient.A loud sound of broken glass is heard in the back of the room. We rush towards the noise and fin
Alice’s Point of view"Are you sure?" Ben asks."Positive." Assures Elliot.I fall into the chair next to Elliot. "So how did they do it?"Ben sighs loudly and drinks a large glass of whiskey. "I don't know. Maybe some other spells or potions don't require a sacrifice."We remain silent for a moment before Elliot speaks up again."At least we have some assumptions now. We won't have any more answers on the subject tonight. On the other hand, I do have some other information."He then tells the story of our mothers and Ben is stunned. He's even more shocked by the story of our grandfathers and I have to admit that I was so not ready for that. Like, really not ready."This is impossible." I say. "We would have heard about this Violet and this Vivian for sure.""That's just it. According
Elliot’s Point of viewThe sparks burn me and she responds to my kiss with the same urgency and desperation that I have. It's touching her now that makes me realize how much it hurt to be away from her.Our sighs and grunts echo through the room, Alice's hands leaving furrows of fire on my skin. The smell of her arousal fills the room, making me lose my mind. Shit. I press myself against her and she gasps as she feels my erection against her hip."By the way, I don't think I told you." I say between kisses. She's completely out of breath. "What?""You look beautiful in that dress." I whisper softly. She moans and continues to kiss me, licking my lips to ask for entrance. I moan and she takes the opportunity to taste me fully. After a few minutes, she says breathlessly "By the way, I don't think I
Elliot’s Point of viewThe meal was interminable. I finally went back to my room and immediately took off these awful shoes. I'll never wear those horrors again.I look at my phone but Alice hasn't called yet. I throw it on my bed and decide to take a shower.I am just beginning to untie my tie when someone knocks. A little surprised, I open the door to a very agitated Owen and Simon. They walk into my room and I barely have time to close my door before Owen starts talking at full speed."Don't be mad at me, but I told Simon about the mission you gave me and it gave me an idea. I told you I didn't have the computer skills, but Simon's friend's friend has a cousin whose girlfriend is the sister of an acquaintance of ... well, yeah, whatever. I got the info you wanted.""Wait wait wait. This friend ... the girlfriend of the sister of the acquaintance's cousin, an
Alice’s Point of viewI call Elliot as soon as I close my door. I'm a little nervous about talking to him again.Back at the ball, I couldn't meet his eyes because we were placed back to back. But throughout the meal, I couldn't think of anything else but what happened in the library.I lean against the door and close my eyes, the feeling of his tongue on me coming back and I'm still all wet."Hello?"His voice brings me back to reality and I clear my throat. "Hey. Sorry, maybe I should have waited until we took our shower." I say as I kick off my heels and throw them loudly on the floor."No, don't worry about it. What was that noise?""My Louboutins. The ones I had to buy when I conducted my investigation at the store." I say with a smile."Oh yeah. Your heels." He says in a voice laden with de
Alice’s Point of viewAwkward. That's the word. Our 3 packs are gathered in this small lounge where we have been waiting for the King to meet us for at least two hours. Each pack has eight representatives: the Alpha, the Luna, the Beta, the Gamma, their children who will take their place and the former Alpha. The tension is palpable and the atmosphere is heavy. I observe Alpha Vincent, Derek's grandfather, observing with an impassive air my grandfather and Alpha Georges. His sisters were their mates and they both committed suicide. Yet, he doesn't seem to hold a grudge.Besides, he sorts of raised my mother and Luna Lily and he has no contact with them now. And from what I can see, he doesn't seem to miss them."I'm sure he does, but there are so many secrets between our packs that he doesn't let on, for fear of it gettin
