Zara’s POV

The warm mug sat between my palms, as I paced about the kitchen floor, restlessly.

I hadn’t believed it when Ike sent me a message, saying that Emmett had finally found a mate. I was so certain that it was on of his many schemes.

Still, I wasn’t sure if this was one of his schemes. For Emmett’s sake, I hope it wasn’t.

Kora seemed like such a nice girl, even though she was a little too quiet.

The sound of approaching footsteps snapped me out of my thought.

Ike strode in, his chest popping in the black singlet he had on, a small frown on his face. “Do you know how the date is going?” he asked.

Like I would know.

“It hasn’t even been thirty minutes since she went into the greenhouse,” I replied.

“That seems long enough for a date right?”

I stared at him wide eyed. “This right here, is why Euphoria left you.” I rolled my eyes.

He glared at me, his grey eyes darkening, like that would scare me.

“Pour yourself some coffee Ike and take a seat, this might take a while.” That is if

Zara's POV Kora was missing? No. No. No. This was bad. This was very bad. I... Ike needs Kora. "Are you sure she isn't at your place?" I asked. Emmett gave an impatient snort. "If she were, I would have found her scent. But she isn't there!" He dragged his fingers through his hair. "Ike thinks she ran away." I blinked. That can't be possible. The Kora I know was far too timid to even think of doing something as crazy as running away. "I really hoped she would be here with you." My brows furrowed as I thought for a while. "You're sure she hasn't been kidnapped?" Emmett shook his head. "Ike assured me that the compound had not been breached." Emmett was clearly panicking, even though he was trying to play it cool. "We will find her," I muttered. "Give me a moment to get changed." I whipped around and hurried to my room. Quickly, I discarded my nightwear and slid on a pair of boyfriend jeans, a tee shirt and a pair of brown boots. I was packing in my hair into a pon

  • Enslaved to the Mad Alpha   94: A foreign feeling

Emmett's POV Her room was empty. My jaw tightened. The bed was untouched, the air stale, too still. A ripple of irritation shot through me. Where the hell was she? “Ura!” I barked, my voice slicing through the silence. Footsteps scrambled outside, and a second later Ura appeared in the doorway, breathing hard, head bowed so low her hair hung forward like a curtain. “Yes, Alpha?” she whispered. I stared at the empty room again, a strange, unwelcome clench tightening in my chest. I ignored it. “Where is Kora?” Ura flinched. My tone had been harsh, hasher than I intended, but I didn’t take it back. “I... I don’t know, Alpha,” she stammered. “I haven’t seen her since yesterday.” Something cold slid through me, quick and unsettling. But anger rose faster, smothering it. "Since yesterday?"I repeated as though I hadn't heard her right the first time. Ura nodded. "Yes alpha." The clench in my chest tightened. Where could she be? “Find her,” I snapped. “Yes, Alpha!”

  • Enslaved to the Mad Alpha   93: He kissed me

Kali's POV He kissed me. Soft at first, like he was afraid I would break. His lips brushed mine in a gentle, tentative sweep that made my knees weaken. My hands flew to his chest, not to push him away, but to hold on. I didn't trust my legs to hold me for much longer. His heartbeat drummed against my palms, steady and strong. He pulled away. I blinked repeatedly, as though in confusion. “If you don’t want this,” he whispered, “tell me to stop.” I couldn’t. I didn’t. He kissed me again, deeper this time. Slow. Exploring. As though learning the shape of my mouth like it was something he had waited years for. A small sound escaped me, something between a gasp and a sigh, and the moment he heard it, something inside him snapped loose. His hands slid to my waist, pulling me closer with a tenderness that felt like worship. His lips moved against mine with growing hunger, but never rough, never demanding. Just… wanting. And I wanted too. I rose on my toes,

  • Enslaved to the Mad Alpha   92: Friends

Kali's POV "You started the fire?" I was almost certain that my eyeballs were about to pop out from the sockets. There wasn't even a trace of remorse in her voice. On the contrary, with the small tilt at the corner of her lips, I could see that she was actually glad she did it. Or she was proud that she started a fire. Cecil gave a small shrug. "I did."She was definitely proud of her actions. "Why?" She gave another nonchalant shrug. "For my peace. Someone had to do it. That house had so many memories and nightmares that were better off forgotten. In that moment, I found myself wishing I had Cecil guts. Imagine having to burn down Maduro's house down. The house that had sucked the joy out of my existence and giving me enough physical and emotional scars to last a lifetime. "Did the... did your nightmares go away after that? Did you finally get to be normal?"She smiled. "It made a whole bunch of difference. Aiden would kill me if he hears me, but sometimes a little fire makes a

  • Enslaved to the Mad Alpha   91: Like me!

Kali's POV I blinked repeatedly. "I'm... sorry." I still couldn't drag my eyes away. It was just too unreal. Cecil chuckled. "Don't worry. Take your time to absorb it. This was my exact reaction when Aiden told me he met someone with a silver hair too. I thought he was lying to make me feel better." "I took my time to gawk at your hair through the window when you guys arrived." She turned to Aiden. "Would she be staying for dinner? I am about to set the table." "She is." Cecil turned and walked away, only then did I snap out from my daze. "Her hair... it's... it's..." "Silver?" he chuckled. "Like mine. It's like mine." I wasn't sure about what emotions were spiralling through me. But it was a lot. But the most dominant was shock. Or maybe it was relief. Relief that I wasn't alone in this. I wasn't the only silver haired freak in the world. There was someone else, exactly like me. Only that her hair was much shorter, a bob cut, that stoped abruptly under her e

  • Enslaved to the Mad Alpha   90: Safety is an illusion

Kali's POV A sharp scream pierced my throat. Then I pursed my lips, pressing my eyes shut as I dragged the pin in a straight line. Pain shot through my arm, I clamped down on my lips to keep the scream in. I could feel the warm blood trickling down my arm. After gathering enough morale, I glanced down at my bleeding arm. The blood was... red. It was normal. Maybe I should give it time. Yes, I will give it time. Last time, it hadn't turned dark immediately. Something else caught my attention, the sound of hurried footsteps. I panicked. My eyes darted around, before I spotted a tree and hid behind it. Pressing my back tightly against the tree as though trying to sink into it, my heart raced frantically. The footstep came closer and then stopped. "Kora, I know it's you. I can smell you." Aiden. But still I didn't move. Not sure why, I still remained pressed against the tree. "Kora, I can smell blood. Come out, I'm not going to hurt you. I would never." He sounded
