Chapter 229

Anna’s heart hammered in her chest. It felt like it was about to burst right out with the news she had just heard. Was this why she had suddenly been feeling so restless? She couldn’t believe an attack had happened and no one thought to tell her about it.

Blood nearly drained out of her body at the very thought that something terrible had happened to her family and the kids. She quickly sprang to her feet.

“Excuse me.”

She headed straight for the bathroom and then shut the door behind her. She fumbled for her phone in her bag, and she instantly dialed Aunt Rebecca’s number when she got a hold of it.

“Aunt Rebecca,” Anna felt a rush of relief when she picked up, as she had already been imagining the worst. “Are you okay? What happened?” She rushed her words.

Her skin was covered with goosebumps; she had been really scared earlier.

“Everything is okay, dear. Please calm down.”
