Chapter 260

Chiara didn’t realize how close they had moved until she could feel Josh’s warmth beside her.

The bonfire crackled behind them, the music lowering into something slow and almost intimate. The noise around them faded into the background, leaving only the space between them—thin, fragile, charged.

She should step away.

That was the sensible thing to do.

But she didn’t.

Josh turned slightly, his gaze finding her face again. There was something different in his eyes now. Less guarded. More honest. As if he had stopped pretending that whatever was building between them wasn’t real.

“You look like you’re somewhere else,” he said quietly.

Chiara swallowed. “I am.”

“With him?”

She hesitated.

Just for a second.

Josh noticed.

“I don’t want to be a rebound,” he said calmly, not accusing, just stating a truth.

Her chest tightened. “You’re not,” she replied, though her voice wavered. “I just… I haven’t let go yet.”

He nodded slowly. “You don’t have to rush.”

That was the problem.

Chapter 267She froze as his soft, warm lips covered her completely, her eyes stretched wide, and she tried hard to push him away, but he held both her hands firmly in place. His soft, warm lips brushed against hers. She resisted him, her lips clamping shut, but she suddenly felt his hands at the sides of her breasts, and then he suddenly pinched her nipples through the light fabric of her dress.Chiara gasped loudly, giving him more access to her mouth, and before she could stop it, she felt his warm tongue in her mouth, fighting against hers, and it was a battle he easily won. He sucked and nibbled on her lips, her head swirled, her lips turned to jelly, and she was slowly turning breathless as he kissed her fiercely. Then… she felt herself slowly begin to melt into the kiss after several attempts to push him off.Her breasts now pressed against his hard chest, and she could feel her buds harden underneath the fabric. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. Things had suddenly g

Chapter 266He stared hard at her, and for that moment, Chiara badly wanted to bolt from there, run as fast as she could, but she wondered how far she could run before getting caught. She closed her eyes, expecting the bullet to ram into her head at any moment. She dug her nails into her palm to help herself stay still, but seconds passed and nothing happened. She slowly opened her eyes. He had taken a seat on the bed, staring at her, then swirling the gun on his fingers like it was a casual toy.In all his years, he had failed to meet people that genuinely amazed him, and this girl here was more than that. She did more than amaze him, and for such a frail human that could snap like a twig too.All that bravery resting in that tiny body amazed him even more when he had men twice his size cower in his presence. And then she had dared to call him by his name also.He threw his head back, laughing loudly. If it were some other human, they’d have their head rolling beside their feet right

  • Entangled With The Vicenzos   Chapter 265: Memories Of The Maurizio Household IV

Chapter 265 “No?” He repeated, his tone dark, and Chiara instantly understood the gravity of her words. Going against him, directly refusing his orders, she was practically begging for death, and this man looked like he wouldn’t hesitate to give it to her. She was nothing but a mere peasant, bought from the slave establishment to serve them, and she had dared to refuse him. But the thing was, she would much rather die than just give herself to this man, who she saw as a devil—worse than a devil. A vivid image of how he had killed one of the servants played in her head. It was the most gruesome thing she had ever seen, yet here she was, disobeying his orders. She swallowed, his cold eyes locking with hers. Part of her wanted to break the eye contact instantly, part of her wanted to drop to her knees to beg, but if she was going to die in the end, she would choose to push through with this. She clenched the sides of her ragged clothing, her knuckles turning white. The sound of m

Chapter 264Chiara felt like stabbing herself to death. If only she had a knife with her, then she would’ve done just that; at least that would be a less painful death than being given to this man.She could feel his cold eyes on her. She shivered, goosebumps forming on her skin. She had known she would die, but she didn’t think it would be slow and painful.Oh dear, she felt her breath seize in her throat.Massimo said nothing at first, knowing how his father’s mind worked. He had given him this girl as a sort of punishment.A chuckle threatened to slip past his lips, but he held it back. He had seen the short glance, the flicker of distaste in his eyes, and he was clear as broad daylight he would behead whoever sent this one to come pleasure him.He knew his father’s taste, and she was the exact opposite and far from his taste as well…So this was his punishment for not being the better son, for not being more like Leone? His lips pulled up into a smile, hiding the bitter taste he f

Chapter 263Years ago, Maurizio mansion…..“I am Peggy,” Chiara voiced.Peggy’s eyes widened. She knew what awaited Chiara now—death. She didn’t want Chiara dying in her place, yet her lips refused to move to object to it. Call it cowardice, or the fact that Chiara would be killed instantly for the lie she had just told. Her eyes burned with tears as she watched Chiara being taken away. She spared her one last glance, and Peggy wondered if that would be the last time she would see her.Chiara’s heart thumped against her ribcage, her face pale with dread. She had an idea about what was going to happen. She knew she would die, which was more reason why she chose to take Peggy’s place. Peggy was like a younger sister to her, and she couldn’t stand the thought of her getting hurt. She couldn’t live with it.Her feet trembled as she was led to Lord Romano’s chambers.“Go in,” came the guard’s crisp voice, not caring if she would live or die. Why should they? Her hands shook as they reached

Chapter 262She stumbled backwards, unable to get her eyes away from him. She couldn’t believe he was here—right, she must probably be hallucinating, like she had been doing lately. She rubbed her eyes multiple times, but he was still there, staring at her, his lips tilted up into a smirk that had cold brushing her spine. It looked so sinister, and the more she thought about it, the more obvious it became that he could possibly be behind all these kills. It was clear as broad daylight that it was him.“Chiara,” she felt Josh’s hand around her shoulder, jolting her from her trance-like state.“Are you okay?” he asked her.At this point, she could barely breathe. She stared back at the building, but he was gone. Where did he go?Her palms turned cold, and more than ever, she wanted to get away from here.“If you can’t handle this much gore, then we should inform the supervisor so you can head back to the hostel right away.”It was then she remembered Josh even existed. She shrugged his
