“You didn’t even bother to reply my greeting? Hmm? Your majesty?”

Hades furrowed his brows at her, what was she playing at now?

“Are you going to sit or not? I have a long day ahead, and I’ve already wasted half watching you sleep.” He said in a calm voice, not wanting to show how irritated he was at the moment.

“Well I didn’t ask you to be a creep!” She replied distastefully, jabbing her fingers at him.

“And another thing!” Claudine burst out, throwing her hands up in the air. Her breasts bounced under his silk shirt. “Why am I even wearing your clothes? You had no right to touch me like that! And why did you lock me in anyway? This is ridiculous! I’m not some prisoner here to be ordered around!” She kept rambling, her voice rising, like a frustrated kid.

Hades just watched her closely, his face showing no emotion. He let her talk, his dark eyes never leaving her. He could tell she was embarrassed at the fact that he was here all along while she touched herself, she didn’t know how t

9:45pm- Havana, Cuba. The streets were filled with the sound of shouting, of car alarms, of shattered glass. The city was a war zone. And in the middle of it all, Hades stood, a grim, unyielding figure in the eye of the storm. He and Christian were outside of Gregory’s fortress, a sprawling, dilapidated mansion that was now a scene of utter pandemonium. The lights were out, and the only light came from the fires burning in the distance. The sound of gunfire was constant, a rhythm that seemed to be coming from all directions. Gregory’s men were turning on each other, a brutal, bloody civil war playing out on his own doorstep. The loyalty he had bought with money was worthless in the face of chaos. The loyalty he had bought with power was useless in the face of his own incompetence.“He really is a fool,” Christian said, a cold, cunning smile on his face. “He is a coward. He is hiding inside, waiting for the storm to pass. He thinks his walls are high enough. He thinks his men are loya

Three days passed. Three long, silent days filled with the suffocating tension of waiting. Hades spent his time in Mateo’s study, a room with walls of polished wooden furnitures and a single window overlooking a serene garden. While Charon and Christian were lodged in another wing of the estate.Hades studied the maps, the schematics, the financial spreadsheets, the faces of Gregory’s men. He didn’t sleep, didn’t eat much. He just sat, a statue of a man, his mind working with a cold, relentless precision. The only thing that gave him peace was the small, worn-out locket he kept in his pocket. He would run his thumb over it, feeling the smooth metal, a constant reminder of the woman waiting for him. Claudine. His Zaya. He thought of her face, the way her eyes would light up when she laughed. He remembered her scent, the way she felt in his arms. She was the one thing that kept the darkness at bay. The one thing that kept him from turning into the very monster he was hunting. He would

•A DAY LATER•The atmosphere in Havana was thick and heavy, a humid blanket that clung to their skin and filled their lungs with the smell of salt and rum. The vintage Chevrolet moved like a shark in the crowded streets, its black, armored vehicle driving through the bright, chaotic stream of old cars and hurried pedestrians. Inside, the silence was a living, breathing thing. Hades wasn’t looking out the window; he was smelling the city. He was listening to its heartbeat. He had a premonition, a cold, hard knot of certainty in his gut. Gregory was here. He could feel him. It wasn’t about seeing, it was about sensing.“He’s here,” Hades finally said, his voice a low, gravelly rasp that cut through the silence. He didn’t look at anyone, his eyes still fixed on the dashboard.“I can feel him. The city has gone quiet. The small-time crooks, the pickpockets, the little men who make a living on the streets… they’ve all disappeared. They’ve gone to ground. He’s purged them. He wants a cle

The hands separated, and the men began to disperse, their faces stoic and determined. The room buzzed with a newfound, dangerous energy. Hades felt the weight of it all, but his mind was already miles away, back in the quiet, safe home he’d left behind. The memory of Gregory’s sneering threat against Claudine was a physical ache in his chest. He had to hear her voice. He had to be sure. He had to anchor himself to the one thing that was real and good in this world.Without a word, he turned to leave. But before he reached the door, Charon was there. The big man was holding out a satellite phone, his expression unreadable, but his eyes held a rare flicker of understanding.“She’s been trying to reach you,” Charon said, his voice a low rumble.Hades took the phone, his hand trembling slightly. He didn't even check the screen. He pressed it to his ear, his heart hammering against his ribs.“Mia?” he said, his voice raw.“I was waiting for you to call.” Her voice, so calm, so steady, was

The silence in the room stretched for a long, tense minute after Gregory’s image vanished from the screen. The men sat frozen, their faces a canvas of shock, fury, and a new kind of raw determination. Hades was the first to move, his hands shaking slightly as he took a deep breath, fighting to control the rage that threatened to consume him. Charon took a step forward, his hand hovering near the holster on his belt.“That bastard,” Ford snarled, his chair still overturned. He slammed a fist on the table, the mahogany groaning under the force. “Adriano… I should have known. The coward. He’s always been a snake.”“He is a fool,” Viktor said, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. “A total, complete fool. To align himself with that… that animal. He has chosen to die with him.”“He is the one who is cornered,” Christian said, a cold smile on his face. “I want to believe his ego is his biggest weakness. He thinks we are afraid. He thinks he has leverage. But he has given us the one thing we n

“I am everywhere. I see everything. You think you’re smart, Hades? You think you’re a king? You’re a pawn, a desperate boy trying to reclaim his throne with the help of men who would stab you in the back the moment they get what they want.”“ And you, Christian… you came crawling back, didn’t you? Just to fall in line with my brother. Pathetic. But I see you brought friends. And I brought one of my own.”The screen shifted, and another face appeared beside Gregory’s. It was Don Adriano, his face a grim, unyielding mask. He looked at Hades and Christian with cold, calculating eyes. The room erupted in a storm of curses and shouts. Ford was on his feet, his chair crashing to the floor. “Adriano, you son of a bitchy swine!”“He’s a traitor!” Viktor snarled, his hand instinctively going to his hip.“Silence!” Gregory’s voice cut through the noise, a sharp, commanding roar. “My friend, Don Adriano, has seen the light. He understands the new world order. He understands that tradition is wea
