CHAPTER 49

Gemma had her chauffeur enter Livian's location and they set off to find him. Halfway through the ride, a strange feeling settled in the pit of her stomach. What if they went all the way to find him and he had already left? It was not impossible considering she had ghosted him for hours. He wouldn't be to blame for seeking help elsewhere either. 

She should be happy for him if someone else helped him but instead, the thought left a bitter taste in her mouth. She inwardly cursed and scolded herself for being unreasonable. Why should he keep waiting for her? 

"Do you think we can go any faster?" She asked the chauffeur for the umpteenth time. 

"We are already at the speed limit, ma'am. We will waste a lot of time if we get an overspeeding ticket." He responded regrettably before glancing at the map. "Don't worry, we will be there soon." 

She relaxed a little at his words and tried not to think about Livian. She should be focusing on the scenery.
