CHAPTER 48

"You better be telling us the truth. If I learn that you are trying to cover up for a scumbag by lying in his favor, I will not be happy about it." William warned for the umpteenth time. He didn't completely believe the tale that Gemma had woven about Livian wanting to be a model in disguise. 

She laughed awkwardly.  "There is nothing else to it." She was not nearly as professional at lying as Livian was so she hoped she would not forget her lie and end up exposing the truth at the most unexpected time. When she was young, she liked sneaking out of the orphanage to play outside but every time the director asked her where she had been, she would tell a lie. 

She soon discovered that she was lying so one day, she tested Gemma by asking if she enjoyed her time at the ancient city library. When she said that she had never been to the ancient library, she called her out on the lie she had told four days ago. 

Since then, Gemma would write her lies down
