“Argantara! We haven’t settled the divorce papers at the civil office yet!”

I glared at him, my voice trembling with suppressed emotion. “I want you to take care of it today.”

Argantara, who had been adjusting his work suit, froze mid-movement. His gaze immediately shifted to me, darkening. “Devia, can you not talk about divorce in my mother’s house?” his voice pressed, full of warning. “Do you know what will happen if she finds out we’re divorcing? I’ll be disowned as her son!”

I scoffed, the bitterness stabbing through my chest. “Have you forgotten? Weren’t you the one who divorced me first? Why hesitate now?”

“Devia, you—!” he snapped, holding back his anger. His fists clenched, but I could see doubt flickering in his eyes.

I stepped closer, locking my gaze onto his without fear. “Argantara, isn’t this a good thing? If I agree to divorce, you can marry Revania. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted?”

For a moment, silence filled the room. Our breaths clashed in the air, tense, like two enemies ready to strike.

Argantara finally averted his gaze and stormed out without a word.

---

At the office, the atmosphere was different. From a distance, I saw Revania already waiting inside his room. She sat elegantly in her chair, her fitted dress accentuating her perfect figure, her face painted flawlessly with makeup. The moment Argantara entered, her expression instantly softened into something sweet and coy.

“Argan…” Revania sighed, standing as she walked toward him. “I’ve been waiting. I can’t wait to hear the happy news from your lips.”

Argantara slipped off his suit jacket and placed it on the chair. “What news are you talking about?” His voice was cold.

Revania smiled knowingly. “Of course, the news of your divorce with Devia. You promised me—after you leave her, you’ll marry me.”

From my own office next door, I could hear her voice faintly. Each word pierced me like a blade, but I forced myself to keep my back straight, pretending not to care.

Argantara fell silent, his eyes fixed on her. “Reva…” his voice was heavy. “I did say that once.”

Revania immediately clutched his hand. “Then what are you waiting for? Wouldn’t it be better to announce it right away? I’ve prepared everything, Argan. I want the world to know I’m the woman you chose.”

But instead of smiling, Argantara’s face hardened. He pulled his hand away. “You’re rushing things.”

“What do you mean?” Revania’s brows furrowed, her smile fading.

Argantara exhaled deeply, then stood by the window, staring outside. “I… am not sure I want to divorce Devia.”

Revania’s eyes widened, her face instantly paling. “What?!” her voice rose in disbelief. “Argantara, you can’t be serious! You told me yourself—you hate Devia, you want to be free of her, you want me—your first love!”

I heard every word from behind the door. My fists clenched, my whole body trembling as I tried to steady myself.

“Revania,” Argantara’s voice was firm, but conflicted. “I won’t deny that before, I wanted to be rid of her. But now… I don’t know. I can’t just sign those divorce papers so easily.”

“Why?!” Revania cried, tears welling in her eyes. “Is it because of your mother? Or… is it because of Devia?”

He stayed silent for a long while. His jaw tightened as if he were restraining something. “I don’t know. But I… have doubts.”

Revania broke into sobs, her face red with anger and heartbreak. “You coward, Argan! You said I was everything to you, yet now you can’t even keep your promise. You’re choosing her… that woman you never even loved!”

The door creaked open. I didn’t even realize when I had moved, but suddenly I was standing in front of them. Our eyes locked, the air instantly charged with tension.

“That woman… is me, Revania,” I said softly, but with firmness. “Don’t speak as if I’m invisible.”

Revania scoffed, quickly wiping away her tears. “Perfect timing. You must be thrilled, aren’t you? Hearing Argantara hesitate to divorce you?”

I met her gaze without flinching. “I’m not thrilled. But I won’t let you trample on my dignity again. If he truly wants you, I’ll step aside. But if he’s hesitating… that means his heart isn’t fully with you.”

Revania spun toward Argantara, her face full of pain. “Answer me, Argan! Say it right now—who do you choose?”

Argantara rubbed his face in frustration. “Reva… don’t force me.”

“Why not?!” Revania screamed. “You’re just a coward! You want to play it safe—keep Devia for your mother’s sake, but not let go of me either. You’re selfish, Argan!”

I closed my eyes briefly, then spoke quietly. “I’ll handle the divorce myself, Argan. You don’t have to bother.”

My words made him turn sharply. “Devia—”

I lifted a hand to stop him. “Don’t say anything more. I’m tired of being the puppet in your game.”

I walked out with my head held high, though inside my heart was shattering into pieces. Behind me, I could still hear Revania’s desperate pleas mixed with Argantara’s frustrated voice.

My steps trembled, but I made a vow to myself: this time, I wouldn’t turn back. If this divorce must happen, then I will close every door—especially the one leading back to Argantara and his doubts.

The night air was heavy inside the Wright mansion.Silence filled the corridor as Argan approached the balcony where Revania stood, pretending calm while holding a cup of jasmine tea.The moonlight caught the faint tremor in her hands.“Reva,” Argan said softly, his voice steady but sharp enough to cut through the air.She turned, smiling the way she always did — gentle, sweet, calculated.“Yes, love?”He didn’t smile back. Instead, he extended a white envelope toward her. “You might want to explain this.”Her brows furrowed as she accepted it, feigning confusion. “What’s this?”“Open it.”Revania tore the seal with slow fingers. Inside were printed screenshots of her text messages, audio transcripts, and transaction records. The color drained from her face the moment she saw the name Ratna – Pharmacist. She looked up, but Argan’s eyes were unreadable.“I got that earlier this evening,” he continued. “Anonymous sender. But I recognize the voice in the recording.”Revania’s breath hitc

The Wright mansion was glowing with golden light that evening, but beneath its polished surface, tension brewed like a storm.Revania sat in the living room, wearing a soft white dress and a fragile smile. Her hand rested protectively on her stomach as Argan entered, his expression still dark from the confrontation earlier.“Are you feeling better?” he asked, his voice tight but polite.Revania looked up, eyes shining with practiced vulnerability. “A little. The doctor said the baby’s heartbeat is stable. I was so scared, Argan… I thought I’d lose everything.”Argan sat beside her, avoiding her gaze. “You should rest more. Stress isn’t good for you or the baby.”She reached for his hand, squeezing it softly. “I know. I just wish Devia would stop interfering in our lives. I’m trying to move forward, but she keeps trying to destroy what we have.”At that, Argan’s jaw tightened. “Enough about Devia.”Revania blinked in surprise. “Why? You used to defend me every time I brought her up.”A

“Revania almost lost her life because of you!”Argan’s voice thundered across the hospital corridor. His face was red, veins tense on his neck, his eyes filled with anger — and confusion.Devia stood still, hands clenched at her sides, her eyes red but cold. “You’re shouting at the wrong person, Argan. I didn’t do anything to her.”“You expect me to believe that?” he snapped. “She almost lost the baby! How could you even—”“I didn’t touch her!” Devia cut in, her tone sharper than glass. “If you would stop worshipping that woman for a second, you’d realize she’s playing you like a fool!”Revania, lying on the hospital bed behind Argan, gave a faint groan — the kind of pitiful sound that begged for pity. “Argan... please. Don’t fight because of me,” she whispered weakly, clutching her stomach. That single sentence was enough. Argan’s expression softened immediately. He turned back toward her, brushing her hair gently. “Don’t talk, Reva. Just rest, okay? I’m here.”Devia could only laugh

“Why does she still dare to smile in the same hospital as me?”Revania’s voice trembled with barely contained rage. Her sharp eyes pierced through the window glass as she watched Devia walking out of the examination room, holding an ultrasound result in her hand.Devia looked calm — too calm. Her face even radiated something that made Revania want to scream: happiness.Happiness for what? Because Argan still cared? Or because she thought she could take everything back?Revania clenched her fists. “No, Devia. You won’t win against me,” she muttered coldly.A woman with faded blonde hair and a worn nurse’s uniform approached her quietly.“Mrs. Revania, I’ve prepared what you asked for. But... this is a high dose. If a pregnant woman takes it—”“That’s the point, Ratna,” Revania cut her off sharply, her tone icy and firm. “I don’t want her to have Argan’s child. Only I deserve that.”Ratna lowered her head. “If anyone finds out, I could—”Revania’s gaze turned lethal. “You need money, do

“She’s starting to suspect something.”Revania stared at her reflection in the dressing room mirror, a faint smile curving her lips. But behind that smile burned a flicker of unease. Her makeup was flawless, her dress soft and elegant — the perfect disguise for the chaos within her.“Argan… you think you can play with me?” she muttered under her breath. “No one takes anything from me — not even Devia.”Her phone buzzed on the vanity table. She picked it up and saw the name flash on the screen: Dr. Samuel.“I’ve warned you, Miss Revania,” the man’s voice was sharp. “If Mr. Argantara requests another DNA test, I can’t keep falsifying the medical data.”Revania’s breath caught. “How much do you want to stay silent?”“This isn’t about money. It’s about legal risk.”Her eyes hardened. “Then don’t blame me if your own secrets get exposed.”The call ended abruptly. She stared at the dark screen, her jaw tight. Deep down, she knew — the web of lies she had spun was starting to unravel, thread

“Mr. Argan… I— I have something you need to see.”The voice came softly, almost drowned by the footsteps of the servants cleaning up after the grand engagement party.Argan, sitting alone on the balcony of the Dirgantara mansion, turned to see a young maid — Rani — standing hesitantly in the doorway. He frowned. “What is it, Rani? It’s past midnight.”Rani swallowed hard, her hands trembling as she handed him a brown envelope.“I… I can’t stay quiet anymore, sir. It’s about Mrs. Revania. About her hospital test results.”Argan froze. His eyes immediately fixed on the envelope. He stared at it for a long moment — as if that small piece of paper could destroy every bit of certainty he’d tried to build. Before he could say another word, Revania’s sharp voice cut through the silence.“Rani!”The young maid turned pale. Revania strode quickly toward them, snatching the envelope from her hands.“How dare you!” she hissed, her eyes blazing. “Who do you think you are, sneaking into Argan’s ro
