"Rise and shine, sunshines,” Loveth announced as she walked into the triplets' room.

It had been two days since Anna, Nat, and Clayton left for the conference.

The children bolted out of bed, almost like they had been waiting to hear Loveth’s voice.

“Is Mom back?” Jayden asked, jumping out of bed.

“No, but she will be back soon.” Loveth responded.

“Oh, oh,”

Sometimes Loveth didn’t understand them. It was that they missed her one minute and didn’t the other minute.

“Come on, Billy is going to come get you guys ready for the academy. Remember, you only have a few weeks to go, so let's do what?” Loveth asked them.

“Make it count,” they chorused softly.

“Come on, sweethearts, let's make it.” Loveth asked.

“Count!” They screamed with vigor.

"Good morning, Mrs. Fisher," Rosa said warmly as Loveth walked into the kitchen.

"The kids? Where?" Simon asked, his voice going frozen with fear."I have no idea; I have no idea Simon, where are my kids?" Anna asked.Sophia, Mia, and Noah all looked at Steve, who only shook his head in response to them."What happened?" Simon asked, looking up at Clayton and Nat.When they didn't answer immediately, he barked again, "What f*king happened?""They were right there in front of the house just as we were planning to head out," Nat stated."And then?" Steve asked."Suddenly they were gone, not a sign, not one sound." Nat continued."Then the letter—it clearly states in the letter," Anna said.Simon pulled her up, and Sophia walked over to them and took her away to sit down."What does it say?" Simon asked as he took the letter."It was dropped on the sidewalk; we have asked around, and no one saw anything." Gideon responded.Simon glanced through the letter, his eyes widening in anger. He turned to Steve and handed over the letter to him."Don't we need to call the poli

  • Ex-Husband's Regret: The Triplet’s Revenge    Gone Missing

Anna read the text, stood up from the desk, and said, "I'll see you guys at home.""Where are you going?" Clayton asked."To solve a case." Anna responded, smiling at them as she walked to the door.Everything was falling into place one piece at a time; all that was left now was to find out the monster behind that night.Anna knew she could no longer hold Simon in contempt. Looking into the fraud after their confrontation was a huge step for her. When she walked out of the lobby, she headed out the gate and hailed a cab. She gave the driver the address Simon had sent to her.He was standing outside just as he had said he would in his text message when she got there."What's the status?" Anna asked as he showed her into the basement."An expert is needed; that's all my team tells me." Simon replied. They got to the elevator, and Simon pressed the button calling for it."Thanks for coming, Anna; it means a lot."Anna nodded, knowing his trust in her words to check out the fraud was one o

  • Ex-Husband's Regret: The Triplet’s Revenge    It's Over

"Oh please, whatever bombshell you have is not something more shocking than the one that just exploded in our faces." Noah snapped, looking really pissed."The court date has been moved up," Paul said, disregarding Noah's words."Why?" Simon asked."Citing reasons that you might be involved in some plotting." Paul responded."Well, meaning we need to wrap all these up quickly then." Simon responded."I am highly disappointed in you, Paul." Noah shouted, surprising everyone in the room. All eyes turned to him as they watched him address Paul in anger."For all these years I have put up with your inferiority complex, your plotting to get the good deals for yourself even while Father was alive." Noah shouted in frustration.Simon was amused to see his father lose his cool; it rarely happened, and when it did, it was not good."Oh, you want to talk about that now? Do you really want to talk about it?" Paul asked."What is there to talk about other than the fact that Gideon pulled the act o

  • Ex-Husband's Regret: The Triplet’s Revenge    Correct it

"Are you going to speak at some point?" Anna murmured at Nat's hesitation."It is David, and he is insisting on seeing you." Nat replied. "Did he say why?" Simon asked from behind."I don't see how that concerns you." Anna said. She glanced over at Simon, raising a brow at him at his question. There was no point in him asking that.He simply shrugged while staring back at Nat to respond to him."No, he did not, but I think it would be wise to come speak with him." Nat advised.Ana saw a hesitation in her eyes again and decided she had better go attend to him."I'll be back for the kids," Anna said to Simon."I could just have them come over tomorrow morning." Simon said after Anna. She didn't give him a response, as there was no need to. They walked out the back gate and headed straight to the house."I'll leave you two." Nat said, hurrying past Anna as soon as they saw David.Anna nodded, walking more slowly, trying to put her thoughts together as she approached him."Anna," David sa

By the time they got downstairs, the kids were nowhere to be seen, while outside they heard the sound of footsteps walking towards the door."You were expecting guests, and you asked the kids to come over?" Anna asked, looking pissed."Look for them while I sort out whoever is at the door." Simon called, walking towards the door.Anna checked the backyard, but it was empty. The rain had reduced, which meant they could go now.As she turned to go check upstairs, Simon opened the door, and that was when she saw them."Mom? What are you doing here?" Simon asked.Anna froze; for a minute she could not breathe as she stared at the woman she had not seen in so many years."I asked your father to bring me, and then Sophia insisted on coming, and then the rest is history." Mia replied. Her eyes roamed Simon and then landed on the dirty shirt he still had on, widening in shock at it."What is that? You have one?" Mia asked."It's nothing, just stained from…" Simon responded, trailing off as sh

  • Ex-Husband's Regret: The Triplet’s Revenge    Forgive Me

Simon paused, his heart beating really hard in his chest as he stared at the half-closed door. His body moved of its own will, turning towards the door and pushing it further.“Simon?” Anna called out as she turned towards the door. There she stood, her wet hair covered by a clean white towel, which he believed she must have pulled out of the clean pile in the closet.“What do you…” Anna started to ask, then trailed off.“I—uhmmm—the kids pushed me up to come get changed.” Simon stuttered as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.Anna’s eyes dropped to his white shirt, and she quickly said, “Oh, uhmm, yes, of course, but your room is down the hall, right?”Simon shook his head and said, “There is only one room on this floor—well, one with the amenities, that is.”Anna looked puzzled, so he quickly explained, “I don’t stay here often, so I just had this room set up for days when I do stay.”The look of surprise on her face was funny as she quickly pulled the towel from
