FIVE YEARS LATER
"Give me my pencil, Archie!"
"I don't have your pencil, Ayla. Stop accusing me wrongly."
"I saw you going through my bag."
"Liar!"
"Mum!"
Giselle heaved a sigh as she walked out of the kitchen with the little towel she was using to wipe her hands.
"What is going on?" she asked as she picked up Archie's school bag and zipped it up.
"Archie took my pencil," Ayla cried.
"She is lying," Archie defended.
"I saw you going through my bag!" she yelled.
"Liar!"
"Enough, please. Ayla, I will buy you a new pencil," Giselle said, taking a seat on the only sofa in their room and helping Archie wear his bag.
"Me too, Mum," Archie said.
"You have your own!" Ayla snapped.
"Ayla, stop yelling at your brother," Giselle cautioned.
She dropped her gaze. "Sorry, Mum."
Giselle sighed as she brought Ayla closer and helped her with her bag. They were both in their uniforms, ready for school, and they were already late.
Giselle was late as well for her job.
"No yelling. I am older than you," she heard Archie whisper to Ayla.
"Archie," Giselle warned.
"Sorry, Mum."
She stood up and walked towards the nightstand where her purse was. She picked it up and returned to them.
She took out some money and handed it to them.
"Buy pencils and cookies, but you must eat your lunch. If you bring back your lunch, I will stop giving you money for cookies. Do you hear me?"
"Yes, Mum," they replied in unison.
"Good. I love you both so much," she said, kneeling close to them and placing kisses on their temples.
"We love you too," they echoed.
Giselle smiled as she arranged their uniforms.
"Pay attention in class and?" she asked.
"Ask questions when you don't understand," they completed.
"Good. That's my angels. No fighting. You both are one. I don't want fights."
"Yes, Mum."
"Let's go, let's go. You both are late already," she urged, standing up as they picked up their lunch boxes. She grabbed her bag, and they walked out of the room, locking the door behind them.
They headed downstairs.
It had been five years already, which felt super fast. Her babies were growing and were now students. Thanks to Blaire, her best friend, Giselle was able to work as a cleaner in the hospital where she had given birth to her kids without worrying too much about them.
The past years had been peaceful, a little less stressful, and joyful, thanks to her children. They gave her strength every single day.
Her children were non-identical twins. Archie had her brown eyes, while Ayla had hazel eyes, which Giselle assumed came from the stranger. Initially, she felt hurt whenever she looked at Ayla, but she had learned to love it. Ayla was her daughter, and Giselle knew she couldn't feel that way whenever she looked at her.
She loved Ayla regardless.
None of her kids looked like Xavier, which was another confirmation that they were not his children. This thought gave her a very horrible feeling, as they reminded her of her mistakes.
But she had managed to swallow it and move on.
The deed had already been done.
There was no changing it.
They couldn't turn back the hands of time. It was impossible to go backward.
They just had to pick up the remaining pieces of their lives and move on.
However, Giselle still hoped for a miracle.
She hoped to see Xavier again.
She missed him so much. Despite the past years, she was still in love with him.
Sometimes she wondered what he must be doing. Did he get married again? Did he have kids now?
Giselle tried to stop herself from thinking about that. It only hurt her. But she knew he deserved to be happy.
She didn't deserve him.
She had been a bad wife.
They reached the hospital gates, and Giselle stopped a tricycle for them to enter. The ride took only two minutes, and they arrived at the school. She sat in the tricycle and watched as they walked into their school.
"Bye, sweeties!" she called, waving at them.
They waved back.
After the children entered, Giselle returned to the hospital and paid the driver before walking into the hospital compound.
She paused at the sight of almost all the nurses and some doctors outside, reading something on the wall.
Curiosity piqued, she walked closer to them.
What was going on?
Her phone rang, and she took it out of her purse. It was Nikki.
She answered the call and placed the phone to her ear as she stood next to the crowd.
"Blaire,"
"Giselle, you’ve heard, right?" Blaire asked.
"Heard... what?" Giselle trailed off, glancing at the sign on the wall.
It read, "HOSPITAL BUILDING SOLD. ALL WORKERS ARE TO VACATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE."
Oh no.
-----------
"I am so devastated right now, Blaire," Giselle said, heaving a sigh as she relaxed on the sofa.
"I know. You should be. I mean, it's your source of income we are talking about here. You are just one step away from the streets," Blaire said, making the situation feel even more dire.
"What am I going to do? I’ve been thinking about it and trying to come up with a plan, but I end up with nothing," Giselle almost cried.
"I told you I already have a plan," Blaire said.
Giselle sighed. "What's the plan?"
"You will get a good-paying legal job through illegal means. Which means you need a forged certificate to get the job," Blaire explained.
Giselle's jaw dropped. "What?"
"I know a friend who can help you," Blaire said.
"No, I am not doing that. I don't want to get into trouble," Giselle replied.
"You are not going to get into trouble. I promise," Blaire assured her.
Giselle stared at her, and Blaire gave her a nod.

DAYS LATER....
AT LENS MASTERPIECE COMPANY.....
"Good day, sir," Giselle greeted.
"Call me Rob," he said, smiling at her and showcasing his perfect makeup. He offered her a seat on the sofa opposite him.
"Your documents, please," he demanded.
Giselle handed him her file nervously, feeling her legs ache to run out of there before something went wrong.
"Calm down, Kim," Blaire's voice echoed in her head.
"Impressive," Rob complimented, still reviewing her documents.
Giselle forced a smile.
"What position can you work perfectly in?" he asked, looking at her.
She opened her mouth to speak, but the door opened, revealing the last person she expected to see there.
It was Xavier.
Giselle froze.
Giselle sighed as she unlocked the door to Harley’s office. She walked in and turned on the lights. So much for partying. If it weren't for Damien, she wouldn't be there. She would be with her kids right now, not witnessing the drama between Xavier and Arabella. So annoying. She couldn't even drink. She was banned from taking anything beyond water and fruit juice.Drinks had literally destroyed her. She couldn't let that happen again. She walked toward the desk and picked up the only file on it, which had "Monday" written on it.Opening it, she discovered it was Walker’s shoot. Wow. Another shoot. She blushed, recalling her huge portrait on the wall of his company building. She couldn't believe her eyes. She looked very beautiful in the picture. She loved it.Damien was such a nice guy. He had paid for everything she was wearing. He had taken her to a nice restaurant and a spa where she got everything done.He was very nice.No doubt she liked him. What was there not to like? She turn
The night is beautiful and a bit windy. It is past eight pm and the city's lights are igniting the beautiful city. Lens Masterpiece company has two huge lights at top of the building that is pointing to the sky. The building is booming with music, and moving down, you would see a projector on the wall of the building, displaying most of Arabella’s personal pictures and some of her and Xavier together. A lot of exotic cars are piling up in front of building. There are a lot of press and photographers all over the place taking pictures of the arriving guests in their beautiful attires. There are flashes of lights from the cameras all over the area, giving the sense of a Met Gala event or Oscars. There is a red carpet on the ground, leading from the end spot of the company's compound to the inside of the company. There is also a long red ribbon on both sides of the carpet, separating the press and the photographers from the carpet pathway. Guests dressed in very beautiful and expen
Giselle furrowed her brows in confusion. Why is she here? How did she get here? She looked at the bed. Her kids were not with her. What was going on? She didn’t understand. She moved to get out of the bed, but the door opened, revealing Xavier. She froze. He was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, holding a covered plate and a glass of juice in his hands. She furrowed her brows. He smiled at her the moment their eyes locked."Good morning, baby," he said, walking towards her."Baby?""Rise and shine," he said, placing the plate and glass on the nightstand. He leaned in front of her, smiling. She shifted a little, confused to say the least."What's wrong?" he asked, furrowing his brows."What is this, Xavier?""What do you mean?" he asked, pretending as always. She scoffed, standing on her feet and moving away from him."Baby, what is—""Baby?" she retorted, scoffing. He furrowed his brows."Did you kidnap me?""What?""Yes. That's what you did. You kidnapped me. Where are my
Giselle's heart raced more than it already did. Xavier was kissing her roughly and holding her tightly. What had gotten into him all of a sudden? She struggled to push him away from her. She moaned out of frustration, hitting his shoulders with her hands, but he kept on kissing her. He held the back of her head tightly. She felt pressure between her legs. She experienced a lot of emotions: adrenaline, goosebumps, pressure, and anger. He was too strong for her. She didn't like this. What was wrong with him?He moved them toward his desk, making her rest on it as he continued kissing her.She did what her instincts told her to do. She kicked his groin, making him let out a groan and release her. She attempted to run away, but he held her hand and drew her back.In an instant, she gave him a hard slap on the face, making him look away.Giselle was panting in anger. She wanted to hit him again and again. He deserved it. He was her worst nightmare. Her worst mistake!“You bastard! Don’t yo
“Big sis," Alex called.Giselle got on her feet and walked around her desk while still staring at Alex. He was amazed to see her.So was she.He looked different. Different from the little Alex she used to carry in her arms all those years ago. She hadn't seen him in a long time, even after she got married. He was very tall, muscular, and very handsome too.She got closer to him, and they hugged each other."I can't believe my eyes," he said, unwrapping her and looking at her from head to toe."You look different and more beautiful," he added. She chuckled. "Oh my God, Alex. You don't know how happy I am to see you.""Me too, big sis. I looked for you after our parents told me what happened. I couldn't reach you. Aria and I couldn't reach you. I still can't believe what they told me."She stared at him."That you are not my real sister," he added. Her heart clenched."Seriously, sis, I didn't know. Aria and I didn't know until they kicked you out," he said worriedly. She nodded. "It
Loads of regrets washed over her as he smirked at her.She felt terrible. She felt dirty. She felt shameful. She felt pissed beyond anything. She pushed him away, and he almost fell."You bastard!" she yelled, pushing him again."Don't you ever come near me again!" she almost cried, running out of the kitchen. She ran toward the restroom and entered one of the stalls. Sitting on the toilet seat, she covered her face with her hands. She cried silently, feeling very awful. That didn’t just happen to her.He was a devil. He was a bastard! She hated him!She hated him so much. What is wrong with you, Giselle? How could she let him come near you like that? How?!What is wrong with you?!She hugged herself, sniffling. She felt so pathetic. She couldn’t believe she let this happen. She felt very awful.Damn you, Xavier.Damn you!*******After some minutes in the bathroom, she headed back to the studio. She managed to compose herself before stepping out.She still felt awful, but she had to
