LOGINWillow’s POV“Twins?”I repeated the word as though it was in a foreign language. Because that’s how it felt. I was having twins? Was this real or was I imagining this?“That would explain the extra fatigue,” the doctor said. “You’re working twice as hard. Morning sickness can also hit a bit differently with twins.”“But that’s….that’s impossible. Twins don’t run in my family. I….” Stuttering, I closed my mouth and glanced at Logan. He was staring at the screen, his jaw wide open.“Twins don’t have to run in the family,” the doctor said. “Sometimes, they just happen. A little miracle, if you ask me.”Miracle was one word for it. Still completely shocked, I looked at the screen. This wasn’t happening. I was having TWO babies? I’d barely come to terms with the fact that I was having one.“See?” the doctor said. “There’s the first one. And…” She moved the ultra sound stick around. “There’s the second one. It’s too soon to see the sex of the babies, but there are definitely two of them in
Willow’s POVMy eyes fluttered open but I quickly shut them back tight. It was too bright. Disoriented, I struggled to understand where I was.“Will?” a voice came from beside me. Venturing to open my eyes again, I saw Logan’s face. I slowly came to realize that I was in a hospital.“What happened?” I whispered.“You fainted,” Logan said. “During the intermission at the show. We called an ambulance and they brought you here.”“The kids,” I said, trying to sit up.“It’s okay,” he said, patting my hand. “Adonis and Jay stayed for the rest of the show. Then they brought the children home. Just try to relax.”My mind spun. I’d fainted? Well that was embarrassing. But I was glad that the kids were able to finish the show, and that Adonis and Jay were both there for them.Just then, a woman came into the room. “Hello,” she greeted us brightly. “I’m Dr. Smith. So, what’s been going on with you?”She had a soft demeanor and I liked her instantly. “I’m not sure,” I told her. “I haven’t been fee
Willow’s POV“Willow Anderson. I have to say, you’re the last person I expected to see here.” The tone was cutting, riddled with sarcasm. I looked Marianne dead in the eyes, lifting my chin in the process. She was the president of the school Parent’s Association, and as such, she was manning the door to the Christmas concert. She eyed me up and down, her expression belied her thoughts.I was the fiancé of a criminal. That’s what she was thinking. It was written all over her face.“Why wouldn’t I be here?” I asked, my voice steady. “All three of my children are in the show.” I wasn’t going to let this judgmental bitch’s snide comments bring me down. We were all here for the children.“Well, given the…circumstances,” Marianne said, “I guess we just assumed you’d be sitting this one out.”“Nonsense,” I chuckled. “We wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Logan, Adonis, and Jay stood at my side. Mira, Carl, and Leo had all scurried away, to meet up with their classmates backstage to get ready
Third Person POV“What is it, Willow?” Logan asked, taking a seat on the bed beside the vanity. He was concerned about Willow. Her face was very pale. She sniffled back some tears and dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief. Then she swiveled around to him.“Okay,” she said, swallowing hard. “I’m going to tell you something, but you have to promise to keep this between us.”“Of course,” Logan told her, his concern increasing by the minute. He’d promised Luigi he’d look after Willow in Luigi’s absence, so that’s what he was going to do. “Cross my heart,” he said. He drew an X over his heart, causing Willow to smile faintly.“It should be good news,” Willow said, her voice weak. “The best news, really. But given the circumstances, it’s just…” Her voice trailed off.“You can tell me,” Logan prodded her. Whatever it was, it was clearly weighing very heavily on Willow’s mind. With a deep sigh, Willow brought her eyes to Logan’s. “I’m pregnant,” she confessed. The words hung in the air, momen
Third Person POVThe guilt that Logan felt over knowing that Luigi was locked away while he was roaming free was suffocating. Unpacking his clothes in the guest room at Willow’s estate, Logan felt tired beyond words. It was only a week until Christmas at this point, and Willow was beside herself. Carl had taken a turn for the worst, and he was waking up in the middle of the night screaming. Willow explained to Logan that Carl had a lot of trauma, and now that Luigi wasn’t home, he was reliving the fear that he’d felt when he lost his parents.Adonis and Jay had also moved into the house. They’d all agreed it was the right thing to do. They intended on keeping a close tabs on Willow, and helping out with the kids as much as they could.Glancing up at the TV, Logan saw yet another news flash with Luigi’s name across the bottom. The media was having a hey day with the story and it felt like every time they turned on the TV, there was another story about Luigi and his incarceration. For th
Luigi’s POVSitting in the back of the transport van, my hands cuffed, I stared out the window at the passing scenery.“Whatcha in for?” a burly looking man sitting beside me asked. He was missing a front tooth, and had a dark snake tattoo that crawled up his neck.“Assault,” I lied, knowing that it wasn’t a good idea to tell anyone that I was committed for selling illegal grapes. The van lurched to the side, and I almost fell onto the man beside me.“Huh,” he said, staring me up and down. “Murder for me. Second degree. The dick had it coming to him.”Nodding at the man, I turned my attention back to the window. Since I’d plead guilty, I was being transferred to a different facility. It was a higher security prison, full of men with life sentences. That’s what Stewart had told me in our meeting before I left.I knew that this prison would be even more dangerous than the previous jail. I intended on just keeping my head down and not drawing any attention to myself. Stewart was already w
