She blinked her eyes, tearing out of her trance. Max was sizing her up with a look of excitement while her skin smoldered with goosebumps.

His lecherous gaze roamed over her, lingering on the hospital gown and her fragile state. The smirk tugging at his lips made it clear he couldn’t care less about her injuries or what she’d been through. He was simply pleased she was alone and within his reach.

Max was a wolf dressed in the skin of a sheep. His eyes always seemed to devour women's bodies, and Jasmine couldn't help but wonder if he could see through their clothes. He had the unmistakable air of a pervert, and his presence made her feel vulnerable and unsafe.

Jasmine gulped her anxiety below her throat and tried to look unfazed by their encounter. Max was shameless and depraved. She couldn't appear weak in front of him, else he would feed on it.

"Excuse me," She firmly stated and tried to brush past him, trying to escape quickly.

She was not prepared to face this pervert while she

  • Ex-wife's Marriage Revenge    Chapter 91

91As discussed, Kyle and Falcon met in their favorite restaurant. They took a quiet table by the window, overlooking a lit bridge to the left side of the sea that was calm. Moonlight reflected on the surface of rippling water. Kyle admired the view. The moonlight on water during nighttime always appeared like there were a multitude of fireflies floating on the surface. His veins were still pumping in indignation as he thought back about the discussion he just had with Falcon. While he resorted to looking out to calm himself down, Falcon tossed drinks after drinks below his throat. What Kyle shared about Lila had taken a toll on him. He shook his face after gulping another glass of drink, and then sighed."I can't believe it. Lila looks so sorted and sweet. She would go down that way to make Jessica leave your house... It's unbelievable." He broke the silence with his remark.Kyle redirected his gaze back to his friend and raised an eyebrow, "Now you know why I've been avoiding her. S

90Falcon did. He knew Kyle better than he knew himself. He sighed and moved towards the window to get some fresh air, not before passing a 'Take your time to cool down' look at his shaking best friend. The room had become stuffy with tense air and the heat from Kyle's searing glares. Falcon looked out at the bustling city. Loud noise under the clear blue sky was just normal in Eastonville. A flock of birds swayed and swirled around in the sky, putting on a spectacular show for eager bird-watchers like Falcon. A quarter hour passed in intimidating silence. It was actually a bad sign, thought Falcon. He saw Kyle in his peripheral vision. He had frozen near his desk in the same position he left him standing there. A raging Kyle taking out his frustration by breaking and shattering stuff was normal. This wasn't, and it gave Falcon the willies he had last experienced in high school when his name was dragged in a drug scandal by classmates, who didn't like him. Kyle was the one who save

89Three days later, Kyle threw his tea mug on the desk, wetting papers with the hot liquid. The steam rose off in the air while he grasped his hair and let out a growl between his gritted teeth. The noise made his secretary, Titus, rush in. He entered without a knock and froze on the door whilst holding the knob. He opened and closed his mouth, not knowing what to say. His boss's nostrils flared with every breath he took and the way he was mercilessly pulling on his hair, Titus knew not to disturb him. He quietly closed the door and stood against it, holding his heart. His heart was racing ten miles per minute— it had to because it had never beaten this fast before.Titus chewed his lips as he fell into a deep thought. The last time his boss was in such a mood, many innocent employees faced unnecessary suspension or extra time of work. Titus wanted to save them. He was thinking what he could do best to divert his boss's wrath to someone else, or something else, when he saw a famil

88Karson tried not to shake as his lips twisted in fury."You’ve had more chances than I can count. And every single time, you turned gold into garbage. But sure— why not give you the company next? Maybe toss you the keys with a ribbon on top?" He gritted his teeth in disgust. He shoved Kevin back dismissively and added, "This isn’t one of your get-rich-quick fantasies, punk. S.L Corporation is not a toy! I won’t let you anywhere near that company. You never had any right on it before, not now. Just go away before I lose my mind.""Who said I don't have a right?" Kevin was far from done speaking. He took a step backwards as he laughed. While earlier the words seemed to have been shoved into his mouth, now whatever he said came right from his heart."I wasn't born to Sophia Lawson, but I'm her husband's son... Y

87A tiny voice, aggravating and enraging at that, rang out from somewhere in his mind and said, "Too bad that she was taken. We could've changed it, though?! All you had to do was get her divorced— you had plenty of ways to get it done— and then she would have been yours. What's the point of thinking about it now? She's gone... And she doesn't want to be found again, remember!""No one's waiting on me. Neither am I." Kyle shouted, more to that tiny voice in his mind than at his father. He focused on his father's face and glowered harder. "I'm happy in my life the way I am. I'll send another set of agreement tomorrow morning and this time you'll have to sign them.""Not unless you get married." Karson said with a calm look. Kyle had lost it. He slapped an antic piece off a table near the sofa set. The noise made Ruby clutch her mouth. Her eyes set ablaze and mouth trembled because it was expensive, and Kyle had no right to break anything in this house. This was HER HOUSE and everythi

86The clock struck Ten past ten when Kyle closed his laptop. He clutched his head in one hand and rubbed his eyes with the fingers of the other. It was a painfully long and tiring day. Though he didn't have any meetings to attend physically, the online conferences with delegates overseas took most of his time and energy. He slid his chair back to touch the ends of his shoes, stretching his back. After performing stretching exercises for a quarter hour, he grabbed his phone and purse. He sat in the car and ordered his driver to take him to his father.Kyle somewhere knew it was going to be time-consuming as his father had clearly stated he wasn't signing the agreement so soon, he still tried to give it a shot. He barged inside the house with an air of authority and charm. His shoes thudded slightly on the marbled floor as he stopped across from the set of couches where his father was enjoying late-evening coffee with a phone in his other hand."So, you signed the papers? Where are the
