Anna’s pov
"You heard me the first time," he replied firmly."I have the means to make you the better version of yourself and I also need a wife."I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Why me?" I asked, trying to understand why he had chosen me for such an important role in his life.“I see that you don't lack in any department especially when it comes to women,am sure most women will do anything to be with you. So why do you want to marry a divorcee like me?”He looked at me intently before replying, ”you are my choice and the woman I want so don't compare yourself to others”"Marry me for a year, then after a year, we go our separate ways."His tone was cold and unemotional. "Why do you want to marry a woman you don't love?" I asked, unable to grasp the concept."To get my family off my back," he said with a hint of frustration in his voice."My mum and grandmother are setting me up with different women every day, but I am not interested in any of them. The only way out is to get married," he said with seriousness.I was still in shock. Here was a man, asking me to marry him for a year, without any love or emotional connection between us. It sounded like a business deal, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a part of it."What do you expect from me in this marriage?" I asked, trying to clear my doubts before making any decisions."Well, I expect you to be a wife who allows me to keep myself busy with work without interference and a bit and support.”“In return, I will provide for you and make sure you have everything you need. Like what I said, reciprocity."he replied, sounding like a true businessman. My phone interrupted my conversation with the suit man, “hello bitch, I've heard you've lost the bastard baby in your womb.I told you I am the only woman in Lucas's heart and the only woman for him so you should give up but you were too stubborn, now look at you.”I listened to my evil sister Chloe on the phone as she went about raining insults on me. I wanted to fight back but her moan cut me off.“Oh baby!” She moaned out of pleasure on the other side of the phone. Was she with….“Baby stop, mmmmm, please stop, I'm on the phone with Anna.” She said to someone seductively.“Who cares if you are on the phone with that bitch? Just let us finish what we started!” I heard Lucas say to my sister before the call dropped.I wasn't surprised to hear the man I've loved for years saying that about me but it broke my heart, that I wasted my time trying to make him love me back.Suit man looked me in the eyes and noticed my facial expression and he asked,”are you okay.”“Yes I am okay.” I replied to him.I took a deep breath to calm myself before talking to suit man again.“Give me the details of the marriage proposal.” I said to the suit man firmly. The man looked into my eyes and smiled.” You are a strong woman do you know that?” He said instead of given me the details right away.“Are you kidding me? No one has ever considered me a strong person, I am alway the weak and unfit one.”“They are blind to see the real you.”the man said with a smile,it's like he can see through meWho is this mysterious man?Anna's POV "We are going to be together for a year and we will live like a husband and a wife, but I will not force you to do anything you don't like," he said to me. "I will provide for you, and get you a job if you desire to work. You will attend business meetings with me if I ask you to," he added. "Are we going to sleep on the same bed?" I asked him. "Yes, but I will not force myself on you. I will gladly make love to you if you want me to," the man said with a smile on his face. "You wouldn't want your husband going about cheating with other women, would you?" His question shocked me. "What do you mean?" I asked him. "If you don't allow me to touch you, I will get it outside," he replied. I couldn't believe he said this to me. I wondered what I should do. I had nothing to lose if I accepted his proposal, but what if he treated me like my ex-husband did in the past? "I will give you a few hours to think about my proposal, as I mentioned earlier. You help me, and I'll help
HARVEY'S POVSix months back...."Ivan, I want to see you in my office in the next thirty minutes." I told the man before hanging up. I heard a knock on my office door and immediately knew it was the new secretary, Miss Lawson. Without raising my head to see her face, I asked, "What do you want, Miss Lawson?" "Sir, I brought you coffee," she said in a tone that sounded overly sweet.I looked up to see her standing there, and my gaze was met with a sight that made my blood boil. Her tight-fitting dress was more suited for a nightclub than a professional office, and her heavy makeup and curly brown hair made her look like she was trying too hard. I was disgusted by her lack of professionalism and her pretentious nature."I didn't ask for coffee, Miss Lawson," I said gruffly, trying to hide my annoyance. ""Sir, I was informed that you take your coffee early in the morning before starting work, so I prepared it for you," she said, her voice dripping with false sweetness. Her tone was
HARVEY'S POV Ivan burst into my office without knocking, his mind clearly preoccupied. He slumped into the sofa, his eyes fixed on the floor, and his shoulders slumped in defeat. "Do you have any good news for me?" I asked, my tone sharp with anticipation, but also laced with a hint of frustration.Ivan's face fell, his expression a picture of disappointment. "Nothing yet, sir. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack." He shook his head, his voice laced with frustration, and his eyes clouded with despair. "I've been searching for two years now, and every lead I follow ends up in a dead-end."Ivan had been working on this assignment for two years now, and I was growing tired of the same old excuses. I had hired him the woman of my dreams, the one whose name I dont even know and I was starting to lose hope. "Ivan, it's been two solid years, and all I get is the same old story. What am I paying you for?" I demanded, my patience wearing thin, and my voice rising in anger. The
Anna's povPresent day....."The doctor said you can be discharged today, am going downstairs to take care of the bills and paperwork for you discharged. get prepared, we are going home." After the Last word, he smiled warmly before leaving the room again. " What would have happened to me if not for the help of this man? no one not even my family has asked about me.Why did they hate me so much? They couldn't hide their hatred for me, they even proved that they didn't have a daughter called Anna.My thoughts swirled as I lay in the hospital bed, my mind racing with questions and emotions.I had been in the hospital for several days, and the doctor had finally given me the news she had been waiting for - that I could go home. But as I thought about my family, a mix of sadness and anger filled my heart. Why had they abandoned me? Why had they pretended I didn't exist? The pain of their rejection was still fresh, and I couldn't help but wonder what o had done to deserve such treatment
Anna's pov As I stepped out of the hospital room, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Mr. Gorgeous, my new husband, had been by my side throughout my stay and I was grateful for his support and love. I had never been surrounded by loved ones in the hospital before, and the experience had been overwhelming, to say the least. But Mr. Gorgeous had been a rock for me, always there when I needed him most. However, as we made our way toward the exit, I couldn't help but notice the stares from the nurses. They were all looking in our direction, some even trying to talk to Mr. Gorgeous without acknowledging my presence as his wife. It was as if I was invisible as if I didn't exist. But he ignored them and held my hand protectively, which no one had ever done for me before. The man became a changed person from the moment we stepped out of the hospital room. He was as cold as ice, and I could see how distant he was from other people. It was strange to see this side of him, as he had always
Anna's pov As we continued to drive, I looked out the window and saw that we were approaching a gated community. It was called Riverview Estate, and I had heard rumors that only the wealthiest of people lived there. It belonged to a very powerful young man, or so the rumors went. This man must be extremely powerful to afford a place like this, I thought to myself. We drove through the gates and I couldn't help but gasp at the sight before me. The estate was absolutely stunning - beautifully manicured lawns, huge mansions with sprawling gardens, and a pristine lake at the center of it all. It was like something out of a fairy tale.As we pulled up to our own mansion, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was easily the biggest, most luxurious house I had ever seen. I felt like I was in a dream.Mr Knight helped me out of the car and led me inside. The interior was just as opulent as the exterior - marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and priceless works of art adorned every wall. It was lik
Anna's pov"The maid will be here soon to bring you food. On the left side of the closet, there are your clothes which are already Arranged in it." "Are you sure those clothes belong to me?""yes I bought them for you, I know you will need them."Harvey's words made my heart skip a beat. The thought of someone taking care of me in such a way was overwhelming. I was taken aback by his words. "Do you mean those clothes belong to me?" I asked him in disbelief, and he nodded quietly. Suddenly, tears welled up in my eyes. For years, I had longed for Lucas to show me some kind of affection or appreciation, yet he had never even bought me a single dress. I was so used to fending for myself, but his kind gesture made me realize that there are still good men out there. But now, seeing the beautiful outfits hanging in the closet, I felt truly touched by Mr knight's gesture.I couldn't help but wonder how he had known my size. "I have someone who does the shopping for me," he explained as if
Anna's PovOver the next few weeks, Harvey proved to be an incredible friend to me. He went above and beyond to help me settle into my new home and get back on my feet. From accompanying me to doctor's appointments and helping me with physical therapy, to cooking my favorite meals and watching movies together, Harvey was always there for me.One thing that stood out to me was how considerate he was. Even though he had promised to share the same room with me, he instead moved into one of the guest rooms to make me feel more comfortable. It was such a gentlemanly thing to do, and it made me feel incredibly grateful that I had met someone like him.As the days went by, I began to feel more and more at ease in my new surroundings. I no longer felt like a stranger in his home, and I had Harvey to thank for that. He was always so patient and kind, and he never judged me for my struggles. Instead, he simply listened and offered whatever support he could. One month later, I decided to vis
