Chapter 26

Angel’s POV

When Damon insisted on taking me home, I wasn’t expecting him to take me to his home.

“Ermmm excuse me, but why are we here? I would really like to go to bed!” I quizzed

Damon’s response shocked me, “I have had no choice but to keep my distance from you since the moment I found you, I’m not leaving your side! Either we both stay here or we both stay at yours! Either way I’m with you always.” He smiled

“I don’t know if I’m ready for that”, I replied honestly

As Damon raised my hand and kissed it while staring into my eyes he put me at ease, “you’re not here so we can have sex, I just need to hold you and be with you! Nothing more and nothing less, if you want to sleep alone that’s fine I can make a space up on the floor for me”

In that moment I felt truly understood. I shyly got out of the car following his lead to the Manor.

I didn’t know what I was expecting but it definitely wasn’t what I got.

On entering I was instantly met with a bow from the butler who was a smartly dressed older gentleman who also knew my name, “ms Angel, welcome” which was followed by similar responses from any other house staff I saw, as we walked into the kitchen I was shocked to see Luna Eliza sat at an island with Alpha Roman drinking tea while still wearing their beautiful attire from the ball.

I instinctively “Alpha, Luna it’s a pleasure to meet you” while I did a small curtsy

“Oh don’t be silly Angel, your family now! Please call me Eliza and this big teddy bear is Roman.” Luna replied

“Yes Luna, I’m sorry I mean Eliza” I responded awkwardly

Alpha Roman just sat and smiled, “it nice to finally meet you officially, we have heard plenty about you over the past few weeks. I hope your recovering well from your accident.”

I gave a small nod not quite knowing what to say, I had no idea I had been talking of the house, or how they knew so much about me. Something I would ask Damon later

Damon grabbed us a snack and drink to take with us and led me out of the uncomfortable moment with his parents.

He led me through the manor, huge hallway with elegant chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, exquisite art work decorating the walls and the modern light grey painted walls were the background. I followed nervously up the stairs, down yet another beautiful corridor. They must have an interior designer for this.

We finally came to Damon’s door, it was more like he had his own section of the home separated just for him.

As we stepped into his bedroom I suddenly felt like I belonged, I don’t know if it was the decor, the lighting or the scent but my guard dropped and I felt like I could actually relax. As I looked around there was no clutter which I would have expected especially in a boys bedroom but this was a room where everything had its place, family pictures up around the room showing me that he was sentimental, trophies from sporting events all shelved nice in a glass cabinet on display.

The lights were on a dimmer switch but he didn’t have them in full brightness, and a large bed against the back wall in the middle which was made with pristine accuracy and had the corners folder under like you would find in a hotel.

“Make yourself comfortable” he kissed me on the cheek then motioned me towards the bed while he walked into the en-suite bathroom

I slowly walked over while still taking in my surroundings, I have no idea what to say. The whole nice has been surprisingly surreal.

I thought this man was a monster, a cruel ruthless man with nothing but anger in his veins and that’s who I had prepared myself to meet and potentially reject. But this man, this version of the supposed monster is so far amazing, stood up for me, acting like a gentleman and when I was getting carried away he took a step back so I wasn’t overwhelmed.

Damon stepped out of his bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waste. I was in awe, I could feel my mouth watering as he sauntered over to his side unit to get bedwear from his draws.
