OLIVER

Oliver groaned, shifting his sore ass on the bed. He watched Rafael take off what was probably their sixth condom.

“You’re a monster,” Oliver whined, wincing slightly as he adjusted his position. “You make it sound like you’re just going to take it easy, and then you pound into me.”

Rafael chuckled, wrapping the used latex in a tissue before turning around. “Who asked me to go deeper and harder?” He shook his head, muttering under his breath, “Você não sabe o que quer, juro por Deus.”

Oliver rolled his eyes, resting his chin against the soft pillow. “I understood that, you know.”

Rafael laughed, sliding back onto the bed beside him. “No, you don’t. Your Portuguese is not that good, meu amor.”

Oliver rolled his eyes again, but before he could toss back another retort, Rafael pulled him into his arms for a warm hug. The heat of Rafael’s skin and the steady rhythm of his heart beneath Oliver’s cheek melted his little fuss away.

Oliver couldn’t help but sigh, the weight in his chest finally easing. He couldn’t help but say, “My father didn’t call me tonight. Thank God for that.”

Instantly, Rafael pulled back, worry written all over his expression.

Unlike Rafael, who was raised in a large, free, and wildly happy family, Oliver was raised as the son of the former football prodigy, William Hayes.

He had been born for nothing but one purpose: to keep his father’s legacy alive. It was something William had never failed to remind him of, every single day of his life.

It hurt, deeply, because ever since Oliver was a child, he had never wanted anything more than his father’s approval.

But now, it seemed like his father was just determined to never be proud of him. No matter what he fucking did, no matter how many trophies he lifted or how hard he played on the pitch, it was never enough.

Oliver let out a heavy sigh, looking down at the bedsheets.

“I’m sorry, meu amor,” Rafael comforted, his voice dropping into a tender register. “I know you and your father’s relationship is… complicated. You want to talk about it?”

Oliver sighed and shook his head, forcing a fake smile onto his face. “No, I… have four therapists already. I’m pretty sure I’m good.”

But Rafael didn’t smile. His dark eyes softened. “I don’t like seeing you in pain,” he said quietly, his large hand coming up to cup Oliver's cheek. “Don’t fake your smile in front of me.”

Oliver’s fake smile faded as well. He looked into Rafael’s eyes, a rare vulnerability slipping through his defenses. “Sorry if I ruined the mood. I just… I don’t know.”

“Don’t say that,” Rafael snapped, genuine frustration lacing his tone. “You to talk to me. I want it. I want you to share how you’re… you’re…” He snapped his fingers twice, searching his mind for the right word.

“Feeling?” Oliver supplied.

“Yes. That. Share how you’re feeling… to me.”

This time, a real smile broke across Oliver’s face. “Well, I’m happy now. Because of you.” He stretched out a hand, lazily tracing his fingertips over the hard ridge of Rafael’s dark chest. Rafael was just so large and… muscled.

“I might even be happy enough to… go another round.”

Rafael scoffed, a low rumble vibrating under Oliver’s touch. “You are not happy enough for what I will do to you if you give the chance. Come, I feed you. Then we sleep.”

Oliver let out a small sigh, his eyes drifting toward the window. “I really shouldn’t sleep here, though…”

Rafael grabbed him by the hip, pulling him close with a firm grip. “You are not leaving me this night. That was not a suggestion. Come, let’s go eat.”

Oliver barely hid his smile as Rafael turned to swing his legs over the side of the bed. He never liked to make it obvious just how much Rafael’s dominant side turned him the fuck on.

Though, judging by the tiny prick of pain lingering in his ass, he really shouldn’t be getting turned on anytime soon.

“Fine,” Oliver groaned, pushing himself up from the mattress and following Rafael out into the dim lights of the living room.

RAFAEL The door of his family home vibrated as Rafael knocked three times. A few seconds passed before it creaked open, revealing a dark-skinned teenage girl absorbed in her phone, her thumb flying across the screen. “Yes?” she asked flatly, not even bothering to look up. A warm smirk spread across Rafael’s face. “Delivery for Sofia Costa?” “I’m—that’s me, but I didn’t order—” Sofia began, finally raising her eyes. The moment she recognized him, her phone nearly slipped from her hand. “OH MY GOD, RAFAEL!” She threw herself forward, jumping directly into his arms. Rafael laughed out loud, catching her easily and swinging her around. From somewhere inside the house, a panicked voice rang out. “Sofia! Why are you screaming—AHH, RAFAEL!” His mother appeared at the end of the hallway, dropping the dishtowel in her hands. “Meu deus! Rafael!” She rushed over as Rafael set Sofia down, immediately pulling his mother into a deep hug. She showered him with questions, kissing both of hi

RAFAEL“Diego is driving me crazy, Rafael. I tell him every day to focus on his studies, but all he wants to do is play with his little friends. Por que ele não pode ser mais como a Sofia? Why can’t he be more like Sofia?”Rafael tore his gaze away from the muted television screen, his eyes widening as he registered his sister’s name. “What did you say about Sofia?”His mother let out a loud scoff on the other end of the line. “Você não está prestando atenção em mim! You are not paying attention to me! If you are not going to listen to your mother, why do you always bother me about these calls?”Rafael sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with two fingers. He wanted to listen. He really did. He loved his family more than life itself. But he could not wrap his head around whatever the fuck he was watching on the television screen.Winning?Oliver Hayes did not just play to win. Sure, Oliver hated losing, but he had an undeniable joy for the sport. Rafael knew that deep down. He ha

OLIVERAs Oliver left the training room, he gave a brief wave to a few of his teammates. Some forced a polite smile in return, while others ignored him entirely, keeping their eyes glued to their lockers. Oliver let his hand drop. Sure, he had pushed them hard during practice today, but it wasn’t that bad, was it?He didn’t have time to wonder for long, as his phone suddenly began to vibrate in his hand. A familiar dread settled in his gut the moment he looked down at the screen.Father.Oliver groaned quietly to himself. He couldn’t say he hadn’t been expecting the call after their performance in last night’s match, but he had naively hoped his father might wait a little longer before reaching out to tear him down.Taking a deep breath, he slid his thumb across the screen and pressed the phone to his ear.“You seem determined to embarrass me, huh, Oliver?”The cold voice came through the speaker without a single greeting. Oliver swallowed hard, stepping into a corner by the corrido

[THE NEXT MORNING]RAFAELThe morning sun had long since risen, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with the darkness in their hotel bedroom.Rafael was very occupied, his large hand working Oliver’s morning rod. Oliver kept moaning in pleasure, his voice cracking as he begged Rafael to go faster, but Rafael stubbornly maintained his torturously slow pace.“Rafael, please,” Oliver gasped, his back arching off the mattress as his knuckles turned white against the headboard. “I’m so close, just—”Oliver tried to move his body, to roll into the friction, but Rafael pinned both of Oliver's hands firmly above his head with one strong grip. A devious grin spread across Rafael’s face as he looked down at his boyfriend.“You take what I give, bebê,” Rafael murmured darkly. He leaned down and claimed Oliver’s mouth, drowning out Oliver’s protests in a hot, messy kiss. His tongue slid deep, tasting him while his hand on Oliver's length finally began to speed up, pumping him with a practiced rhyth

RAFAEL“AND HE’S DONE IT! Rafael Costa leads his team to another impressive victory. While it may only be a friendly match, both sides have shown exactly why they're among the favourites heading into the World Cup.”The roar of over forty thousand voices vibrated right through the soles of Rafael’s boots. People were shouting, flags were waving, and his teammates were suffocating him in their sweaty jerseys, pulling him down, lifting him back up.Rafael’s mind was far gone, floating away from the chaotic celebration, but not too far that he didn’t notice Oliver at the other side of the field looking at him with a smile. He couldn’t believe it—Oliver was usually the one who was strict about not interacting with each other in public. Regardless, Rafael gave back a smile of his own.Oliver’s teammates didn’t share the same sentiment, they looked immensely disappointed but congratulated them still. Rafael tried not to wear a smile, especially when Oliver shook his hand. The brief touch
