Mabella's POV

“Mabella, bring the hair gel.”

“Mabella, go get an apple.”

“Mabella, bring that scarf.”

Mabella this, Mabella that.

“Aaaahhh! I'm done here!” I yelled in anger, running out of the house.

Even though there are maids around, my stepmother, Phebian, keeps sending me on multiple errands as if it were her life mission to make me miserable.

I sat under the orange tree, the only place that brings comfort to me.

Today is my step-sister Anabel's wedding.

I'm the one who's supposed to be the bride but our lives were switched.

All thanks to whatever is wrong with me that makes me eat with no control.

You see, my mother had actually betrothed me to Alpha Alfredo De Luca when I was two before she passed away.

She knew Phebian was going to make me miserable and the poor woman probably thought being the Alpha’s concubine would give me a better life and that's true.

Only if she knew everything that had happened after she was gone.

If only she knew her daughter was going to get obsessed.

I wiped a tear that was running down my cheek while my fingers uprooted the poor grasses.

You see, my name was originally Anabel and my step-sister was Mabel, but I suddenly started getting bigger. No one knew what was wrong and the fat ugly man could not be presented to the Alpha as his betrothed, not in the pack where the skinnier you are, the prettier you are.

I would just bring ridicule and embarrassment to the family.

So they did it.

My father, whom I'm so sure had promised my mother not to let me suffer in her presence.

He and my stepmother swapped my step-sister and my name so that she who was all perfect could be presented as the bride and not me.

And since the day I lost my name, I lost my life too. All the grace and royal education I've been getting have stopped and worse, I'm not even introduced as part of the family.

“She’s a family friend.” My heart stung as my stepmother's words flowed into my memory.

And my father was there, standing, but he didn't say anything.

I'm not asking to be the Alpha's bride, I know I will never be, even if I'm asked to, but I wish I were loved.

I wish I could have people who can stand behind me, fight for me, and provide comfort.

That was why I fell for Brandon, he provided love and comfort that no one had ever shown.

I thought giving him my virginity was the best way to say thank you to him, but turns out I just made his mission even more successful.

He never loved me.

I was just an experiment object to him.

What was I expecting?

Can anyone ever love me?

No!

Why did I become too dumb?

I really wish I could go to his house and sit on his head till he stops breathing but that's only going to make things worse.

“And guess who is here?” Sandra came up behind me.

“The big fat wolf.” Chloe jeered.

“You mean elephant?” Sandra said and they both laughed.

“What do you want?” I asked, looking up at Anabel's best friends who are also my bullies.

“It's impossible not to look after seeing a whale from afar, don't you think?” Sandra smirked and I so wanted to smack that stupid face of hers.

“Just let me be,” I said, standing up.

“And if we don't?” Chloe asked but I ignored them.

I walked away but the tears had blurred my vision so badly that I didn't see the stone they had rolled before my feet.

I tripped and landed on the ground with a loud thud.

“Ooopsieee!” They both laughed.

Anger burned through me as I struggled to get myself up.

I wanted to walk away but Hazel, my wolf, had had enough of their bullshit.

“Which of you did that?” I roared.

“And what are you gonna do? Crush us with your big foot? Oh, mommy I'm shaking in my boots, Miss Elephant will step on us and…”

Smack!

My hand moved faster than I could control.

Immediately my hand left Chloe's cheek, and the red lines of five fingers appeared like a rainbow in the sky.

Gasps escaped their lips and as I marched towards them, they started running and screaming at the top of their voices.

---

“I'm so sorry, Sir Kaido. The normal punishment will be given to her in public after the wedding of my daughter to the Alpha.” My heart broke as my father apologized to Chloe's dad.

He was supposed to get mad, so mad that his daughter was being bullied or maybe even proud that I stood up for myself but my father was there, apologizing and even promising to punish me.

For what?

My hands curled into fists.

I hate him, I hate him so much.

“Oh, poor Mabella, I heard about what happened and honestly I think it's not fair,” Anabel said while barging into my room without knocking.

And I know what to expect, another fake sympathy laced with mockery.

I looked and she's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

Her blonde hair was pulled into French braids with shiny little ornaments scattered all around it and so her head looked more like a chandelier than her head, attracting every single light in the room.

The red evening dress hung onto her pear-shaped body perfectly and her skin? It was like glass.

“Oh, I guess someone is checking me out, go on, adore this goddess body…” she giggled, posing around like a model. I rolled my eyes and suddenly she raised her foot to my lips.

“What the heck is wrong with you, Anabel?” I demanded.

“I thought you admired me so badly that you wanted to kiss my feet.”

I wanted to slap the foot away but she quickly moved it before I could reach it.

“Eww… don't touch me, you don't want your punishment to be increased, huh?”

“Just go away, Anabel, I've had enough for today,” I begged.

“Poor girl.” She laughed and I was surprised and super relieved when I saw her leave my room.

---

Later that night, I watched as the cars drove out of the compound.

They are leaving.

Leaving for Anabel's wedding.

Tomorrow, she's going to be married to the Alpha.

Something that could have been me.

I remember back then, before I got big, I was getting a royal education. I was getting it all — attention, love, respect — but now it's all gone and Anabel had fully taken my place.

And worse?

I'm banned from attending the wedding.

“Showing her ugly fat face will make the royal family think our gorgeous Anabel might bring forth an ugly thing for them. They will think there's a bad trait in the family’s gene.” I heard Phebian say earlier.

Father couldn't even fight for me.

And I was here, all alone at home while my sister was getting married to the man I was supposed to get married to.

She will be introduced as me, presented as me to the royal family.

Meanwhile the original me — the object of ridicule they always want to hide — is dying from her thoughts.

Oh Moon Goddess, what have I done so badly to deserve this?

Why is my fate this way?

Is it I that wronged you or my mother?

I tried so hard to ignore the rumbling sound in my stomach but it became so unbearable and before I knew it, I was on the dining table chewing on a large hamburger.

Day three of failed dieting attempt.

I sighed.

The day I'd finally get rid of what's wrong with me, I'd be grateful…

But for now, I have to keep living in shame as no healer in the pack is able to figure out what it was.

Mabella's POV "She's here," Vida told me quietly, placing the tiny bundle against my chest with the specific care of a healer who had done this twice now for the same mother and understood exactly what the moment required.I held her immediately, arms wrapping around that small, new weight. She was warm and perfect, eyes closed tight, her little chest rising and falling steadily. "She's so small," I whispered, tears blurring my vision. "Vida, look at her fingers. So delicate.""She's healthy," Vida said, smiling as she wiped her hands on a clean cloth. "Strong lungs, strong heart. The bloodline markers are different from Sol's. Not stronger or weaker. Just different. The same convergence is expressing itself in a new pattern. We'll document it properly after you rest.""Tomorrow," I told her firmly, never taking my eyes off my daughter. "Not tonight. Tonight is just for us.""Tomorrow," Vida agreed, squeezing my shoulder gently. "You've done beautifully again, Mabella. Rest now."Al

  • OBSESSED With The PLUS-SIZE LUNA   Two Years And A New Howl

Alfredo's POV "Two years today," Mabella told me, finding me at the war room window at the early hour before the day started, the pack below just beginning to wake under the soft pink light of dawn.I turned slowly, my heart already full before I even saw her fully. There she stood in the doorway, Sol balanced comfortably on her hip, the morning light streaming in behind her like a blessing from the moon herself. The Ashborne ring glinted on her finger, catching the light with every subtle movement. She looked just like herself—fully present, completely certain, the Luna who had walked through fire with me and emerged stronger, warmer, ours."Two years since the kitchen," I said, the words carrying the weight of every memory between us. I crossed the room in a few strides, unable to stay away."Yes," she replied softly, her eyes meeting mine with that steady warmth that always grounded me.Sol looked at me with those enormous eyes—eyes that seemed to hold the whole pack's future—and

  • OBSESSED With The PLUS-SIZE LUNA   Two For Two

Mabella's POV "One year today," Sera told me, appearing in the dispute hall doorway after the morning session with Kaia right behind her and that expression—warm and certain and entirely Sera. The kind that made the whole room feel steadier just by her presence.I looked up from the notes I was sealing, the ink still drying on the latest resolution. The hall smelled of polished wood and faint herbs from the sachets we kept in the corners. "Sera. A full year since the kitchen. How are you even keeping track with everything else going on?""It's the founding story of this pack's current era," Sera replied pleasantly, stepping inside with Kaia at her side. "We tell it to the children now. The smoke, the compound, the Luna who walked in with nothing but courage and turned everything around. They listen like it's a legend."I set the quill down slowly, a small laugh escaping me. "How does everyone know about the kitchen? I thought that was buried in the early reports. Who started spreadi

Mabella's POV"She handled it herself," Elder Bowen told me, appearing in the Luna quarters doorway with an expression I had never seen on his face before—specifically, completely, genuinely surprised. His usual calm authority was cracked, replaced by wide eyes and a slight shake of his head as if he still couldn't believe what he'd witnessed.I looked up from the stack of bilateral agreements I was reviewing, setting my quill down carefully. "Kaia? Tell me everything, Elder Bowen. Don't leave out a single detail. How did this happen?""A minor dispute in the market this morning," he explained, stepping fully inside and closing the door behind him. "Two vendors are arguing over a boundary line for their stalls. Nothing that should have escalated, but tensions have been high with the new trade routes from Caldwell. I was already on my way to address it when I saw Kaia there, right in the middle of it."I leaned forward, my heart picking up pace. "Thirteen years old and stepping into a

Mabella's POV "She said something," Alfredo told me, appearing in the Luna quarters doorway with an expression I had never once seen on his face before—completely undone and completely certain at the same time. The specific look of a man who had just witnessed something irreversible and magnificent.I looked up from the papers spread across the low table, my quill freezing mid-sentence. "Alfredo, what is it? You look like you've seen the moon itself descend.""Sol," he said, stepping inside, his voice rough with emotion. "She said something. Our daughter. She spoke."My heart slammed against my ribs. I set everything down immediately, papers scattering slightly. "What did she say? Tell me exactly, Alfredo. Don't leave anything out.""It wasn't—it might not have been a full word exactly," he said, trying to be precise but clearly struggling, running a hand through his hair. "It was more of a sound, but deliberate. Come, love. You need to hear it yourself."I rose so fast that the cha
