Chapter 39

Gabriel's POV.

The doctor began to look even more confused than I was. For a second there, he had me doubting his skill and wishing I had just contacted our pack doctor.

“She's alright,” the doctor abruptly stated, clasping his hands in finality. “You can visit her now. There's nothing wrong, just a little stress. Her blood pressure is good and I'm sure she caved in because she is getting closer to labor,” he explained.

“Stress?” She has been the coolest and relaxed in days,” I argued, my lips twisting in curiosity.

“Well, it could be mental stress. Or not. Most people tend to be dramatic with slight pain or…”

What the hell? I exclaimed in my head. Was he claiming Anna fainted because she wanted attention? Who the hell was this doctor? And why hadn't I put him in his place?

My brows furrowed and my eyes shone with rage. The doctor quickly raised his hands as though bowing in defeat. “It's not what you think,” he emphasized. “What I mean to say is the pain receptors in

  • FATED HEIR    Hello Again, Anna

Chapter 77. Anna's POV. “Go on,” a voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I gulped as my eyes flickered and my heart pounded heavily. They never told me I was serving Rogers, possibly his Luna, Stella. “Crap!” I muttered inaudibly. “What am I gonna do?” I panicked. I looked sideways but there was nothing I could actually do. The women proceeded to walk in as the door fully opened and I trudged along with them, scared and distraught. As soon as I got in, the streak of warm air brushing on my face felt nostalgic. It came with memories, chuckles of the time I had there with my father, the last meal with my mother before she died, the last meal with my father before he… died. No, it wasn't warm, it was cold, haunting and stiff. I hated being back there. I wished I could just get out. But I couldn't. “I…”“Whoa! Be careful, you don't want to trip,” one of the women whispered. “Are you alright?” Another echoed. I stared at the floor. It was no longer covered with a plush carpet,

  • FATED HEIR    Think Too Hard.

Chapter 76. Anna's POV. The next morning came slower than a snail crawling on a flat board. My eyes were wide open all through the moonlight as I found it hard to sleep, not even for an hour. I couldn't stop thinking about my baby. Even about what Stacy said. All of these were an elaborate plan and Stella couldn't have done it alone. I thought nobody knew where I ran to for help. How come they knew where to trap me? Where to take my child away from me even when they weren't in their territory? “How could this be?” I muttered to myself, tossing and turning on the rock hard floor. Suddenly, I wasn't comfortable. Maybe the thought of my child made me uneasy or I was just scared of… of nothing in particular. “Good morning,” Stacy yawned, stretching on her couch, the only soft thing she had in her home. She had offered to let me sleep on her couch but it was her home and I had some decency in me. “Anna, you don't look too good, was the night rough on you?” She continued yawning as

  • FATED HEIR    Closer Than You Think

Chapter 75. Anna's POV. Our eyes stayed fixed at each other as though we were in a staring contest. I knew for sure that I was backing out. I needed an explanation. Had my cover been blown? Had words gotten out? I needed to make sure even if it meant breaking the rules a little. Besides, how much could a little question cost? For a moment, there was a deafening silence until he blinked and twisted his lips in annoyance. “Yes and that's where it's going to stay from now on,” he stated. “Now, move! You are blocking the others,” “No,” I fired back and a few gasps escaped out of their mouths. “My tag has never been separated before and I think I should know why it's suddenly separated," The man couldn't believe his eyes, at least his open mouth told me so. He gritted his teeth and turned to the next woman. “Hand it over,” “Yes sir,” she bowed her head and gave him her tag. Well… He placed her tag in the same box as mine, even the tag after the woman. I felt like a fool as they

  • FATED HEIR    Save Yourself For Another Day

Chapter 74. Anna's POV. My body failed me. I moved out of my hiding place springing up like I had just been caught. His voice called me, it rang in my ears like an unending melody. I knew it. My son was here all this while and Gabriel thought he was randomly kidnapped him. Just as I moved closer to the door, I heard mumbling getting closer. They were walking out of the door. I didn't want them to catch me in their dungeon. Moving with my instincts, I ran back to my hiding place as I wondered how my son was. Was he comfortable? How was Stella treating him? How did she pull of the abduction? Gabriel! What I wouldn't give to tell him I had found our son. My son, his heir. “Lock it up,” Stella walked out, then, turning in my direction. She stared stiff for almost a minute. She had me wondering if she had found me. Or just deep in thoughts. “All done, my Lady,” the guards reported. “Good. You two follow me,” She walked out with guards and they shut the door after. Certain that

  • FATED HEIR    Help Us, Luna

Chapter 73Anna's POV. “Help us,” “Please set us free,” “A drop of water, please,” The imprisoned women cried weakly, the chains all over their body barely letting them move a muscle. I couldn't believe my eyes. What was this? A prison? A breeding prison? It was inhumane. It reeked of sweat, blood and the cold piercing air of torture. Cold chills crawled down my spine. So this was what was behind the mysterious dungeon. They never wanted anyone to find out what was going on in here. To make things harder to endure, the captives were a mix of women from my pack and other smaller packs. They looked malnourished, brutally beaten and in need of medication. My muscles were cold, stiff, my eyes widened in shock and my brain an empty train wreck of emotion. I managed to step forward through the only pathway in the middle. Their chains rattled in fear. Some coiled back like they were afraid to see me. I couldn't bear the sight. It killed me inside. My eyes watered up, rage buildi

  • FATED HEIR    Walk Around In Circles.

Chapter 72. Anna's POV. Nobody said it was going to be easy. Nobody hinted at it. So yes, I had to take the risk even if I had a guard totally against me, a pack house filled with painful memories and a constant reminder that I needed to be careful. I was going to push on. The answers to my questions were here, I could feel it calling to me like the waves of an ocean tides. “Hellooo, now's not the time to spaz out. You gotta listen,” Stacy waved her hands across the room. I turned to her, raising an eyebrow as if I had been attentive all this while. “I’m listening,” “Oh yeah,” she said with a daring look. “Yes Stacy,” I smiled lightly. “Can you help me with my zip,” I gestured. She grumbled with her hands spread in the air. “You are not taking this seriously,” “I am,” I winced as she zipped up my tight gown. “When did the uniform get so tight,” I moaned. She huffed and shook her head as we both stared at the mirror hung up on the wall. “Trust me, I will be careful. A lot
