Bella did not get a chance to respond as Angel walked out of the dressing, almost running towards the stage. Bella knew it would be a long one because Angel was not the type to forget, nor was she one to just drop certain topics, such as the one she had just initiated. She let out a heavy sigh.

If Angel had heard about it already, it meant the whole club knew about it, “how is the news always spreading so fast around here?” She thought to herself as she kept on walking. Angel was almost always the last person to hear rumours in the club, as she did not relate to most girls in the club. After cleaning off all that heavy makeup, she got changed into a proper outfit, a short halter neck, and a backless dress.

It was not in any way decent, but it covered up more areas than the lingerie she previously had on. With a coat and little duffel bag in hand, she walked out of the dressing room, the instant she stepped out she was met with some subtle glances from the other girls, undeniably talking about the incident from a few hours ago. Still walking confidently towards the back door, she got whistles and cat calls from men hanging around the door.

Quickly getting into her car, she shut the door and stayed in waiting for Angel. It was their thing. She finished first most times and would wait to give Angel a ride home. While in the car, her mind wandered off to the incident from earlier, the memory of his beautiful face had her reminding herself she would definitely use her vibrator so as to avoid having sex with a stranger that she would wake up regretting to.

While still drowned in her thoughts, Angel gently knocked on the car window bringing her back to reality and rolling the window down, it was tinted so she had to know the person knocking before opening the door. She slid into the car and casually threw her things in the back seat, another annoying thing she did. What's wrong, Mia? you seemed to have been deep in thought. ‘Mia’ she almost forgot it was her real name.

Bella was just a stage name, same as Angel, they were really Mia and Cameron, Cameron’s mom had given her the name before she was born, they thought she was a boy and just stuck to the name even after she was born. It was not safe using your real name in a club filled with thirsty, dangerous men, men that were undeniably more dangerous than they appeared. I am okay, probably just stressed from the day, “is this your way of avoiding the conversation from earlier?” she said.

As already known, the girl would not just drop the topic. The wait in the car was not enough time to think of a response for Cameron, she did not even know what the question was but she was nervous, everything about him made her nervous and it made her agitated that she did not know why, “it is probably his hot bud” Angel said as Mia drove out of the packing lot. She gasped and turned to Cameron with a surprised expression on her face.

“I thought you did not see him or know who he was?” She asked. “I do not” Cameron said, “but the girls gave me enough description to be able to paint a mental image” she added with a giggle, “of course they did” Mia thought to herself. Both of the girls spoke about the man from the club throughout their drive up to the kitchen in their apartment. It was the early hours of the morning, but Mia insisted on making breakfast and preparing for school instead of going to sleep like Cameron suggested.

“Fine, suit yourself. You can stay up longer than me while I go take a much needed rest” Cameron said as she headed for her bedroom door. Meanwhile, Mia, on the other hand, turned to the batter she was whisking earlier and decided to make waffles instead of pancakes. She did not know how to explain to her friend that she was always awake after the nights at the club because the mornings were usually when she fought her demons and not that she was insomniac.

She stared at the batter for a while after that, deliberating if she should make the call or not, and at the end of the day, she made the call. "Hello, Mia. We have been trying to reach you all day, " a voice said immediately they answered. "I- I know, I have just been a bit uh- occupied with work," Mia said. She knew why they were calling. It was for her sister. Mia had a twelve years old sister who spent more than half of her life in the hospital. She had managed to get her fully admitted in the hospital, but Mia found it hard to meet up with the expenses that came with it.

Unlike Cam, who knew about her family and simply did not want to associate with them, Mia knew close to nothing about her family or her past besides her sister, who was her only family. She did not remember anything about her parents or any other family. She was used to it.

When the alarm clock rang, she went to Cameron’s room to wake her up, that was their routine… Mia's alarm clock was set about an hour before Cameron's so she usually got up first, and then she would wake Cameron, who would then go back to sleep for what she usually claimed to be five more minutes but would end up sleeping until her alarm clock came on. Then, she would spend the next hour in complete chaos trying to find an outfit and the right books for her class.

Cameron never looked like she used two minutes to apply her light make up, or like she did not throw on the first thing her hands touched in her closet, she almost always looked put together like she had spent the day before planning out her outfit. Mia, on the other hand, always looked like she rolled off the bed and walked straight to school. She used to look put together, sexy even when she went to school, until she became a stripper.

The crowd was slowly increasing. The girls who were practising at a corner were no longer there. The waiters had changed their outfits and were now in uniform, everywhere seemed more organised than it was when they first came in. They were then led into a huge room that had similar uniforms on different clothes lines. There were two vanities opposite each other on either side of the room. The place looked like a dormitory. They both giggled excitedly at how much of an upgrade they had from their old place. They looked at the notes on their desks, and it was a roaster. They were performing last that night. They decided to peek at the others who went on stage before them. An hour had passed, and the two girls were now seated at a corner with their mouths agape. The performers were professionals. They danced like they had attended “stripper school,” unlike them. “Cam, why were we hired here?” Mia asked her friend with confusion. Cam could not deny the obvious fact… they did not

Cam assured her that they would get to the bottom of it when they were in a more private area, but until then, they had to act like they were aware of the changes when they were in front of Diane. A few hours went by, and it was time for them to leave, “I will see you tomorrow, D. Be fine, okay?” Mia said to her sister as she kissed her forehead goodbye. Diane nodded in response as she smiled at Mia and wished them good luck on their new job. Mia and Cam walked into the restaurant feeling very impressed by what they were seeing. Mia took her phone out and followed the directions that Alexander had sent to her. She slowly led them down a secret flight of stairs and they finally arrived at an open space that had a door at the left. It looked like a parking lot but there were no cars parked in it. When they got in, they were escorted by a guard who seemed to have been anticipating their arrival and were led to an office. On their way there, they noticed how organised the place w

  • FAULTED Destinies   CHAPTER 19- THE PART WHERE THERE IS A SECRET HELPER

The girls spent the rest of the night in fear and anticipation. They had expected their doors to burst open at anytime with Big Pa and his men, but it never came and the next day, they found themselves asleep and holding unto each other's arm on the couch in their living room. The phone rang, making them jolt up from their sleep. Mia hurriedly looked at the time on her phone, still not answering the call and realised that they had been running late. “Shoot!” Mia yelled as she shot up from the bed in a frenzy, she tried to run into the room and get ready but by the time her eyes landed on the wall clock above her bed, she knew that they would not make it in time for their next class. She let her shoulders fall as she sluggishly made her way back to the living room. Cam was still sat in place, “I tried to tell you. But I figured that you would figure it out yourself,” she said. Mia frowned at her and took a seat beside her. “Oh, I think you got a text after your call,” she said.

  • FAULTED Destinies   CHAPTER 18- MY BIG BAD ALPHA MATE

Big Pa gulped and nodded his head. He could not say anything. His voice would give away how much fear he held in his heart. He had sighted the mafia tag on the bodies of the men who placed the money on his table. His eyes were wide in fear. He wondered how he had gotten himself messed up because of those two girls. “What did those sluts do to have the heads of the greatest mafia showing themselves to a small strip club owner like me? They fucked you guys good? We could discuss this and find a way to sell them off to you. We could be allies and not foes.” he said. They were already leaving when he made the statement, and without second thoughts, Alexander took out his knife and launched it straight for his ear. The knife sliced right through, leaving his ear hanging on a nerve to his head. He held his ear in agony and he groaned in pain. They walked away, leaving one of them to care for him. They did not want him dead yet. He knew that Mia was a smart girl, if she found out that Bi

  • FAULTED Destinies   CHAPTER 17- THE PART WHERE HE MAKES SURE SHE RESIGNS WITH EASE

Alexander did not just leave Mia to think about his offer because he knew that she would accept it. He knew that the only thing that would stand in between him getting closer to his mate was that man, Big Pa, and he had to make sure that he did not bother Mia and her friend when they would call it quits. He and Angelo went into his club later that day, earlier than when the men who came for dancers usually arrived, and they headed straight for his office. The two brothers had not gotten over the disrespect that they experienced when they went to him the last time. But out of respect for the mafia rules, they still went to him instead of bringing him to them. One last chance, they were going to give him one last chance to be sensible, or whatever happened after that would be on him. They walked into his office, with the door making a loud noise at the impact with the wall. They barged into the office, and this time, they came calculated. They got access to the records, and t

  • FAULTED Destinies   CHAPTER 16- THE PART WHERE HE GIVES HER TIME TO THINK

Alexander explained the details of the job he was offering her… it had the same work hours as her usual job, but the schedule was more flexible as she could choose the days she wanted to work. Mia thought about how it would feel to not dance for every single day. He told her about her dress code, it was not going to be the scanty dresses that she wore at her old club, it was still skimpy she would be a lot more covered up than she ever was in that place. She was not going to be offering private dances to any customer no matter what and hearing that, Mia had already accepted the terms in her heart. But she let him continue. The icing on the cake was when he spoke about her pay. It was ten times more than her old pay and suddenly Mia felt a little suspicious. “These are multi billionaires, men and women around the world who have no idea what to do with their money anymore. It is for the one percent of the one percent. It is beyond exclusive” he began to say. “They do not mind paying

Mia sat at the edge of the bed in her little sister's hospital room and nervously tapped her fingers on the bed. Diane had noticed the familiar habit and decided to enquire, hoping that Mia would see her as someone who she could confide in and not just her baby sister. “Is everything alright, Mia?”

Mia had seen her sister, touched her, and even hugged her in a way she had not in months. Mia had so many things to say to her baby sister, but it was not the right time. And her sister also had a lot to say to her, most of which she was not supposed to. When Diane had seen the light and had almo

As Mia walked out of the doctor's office, she felt a heavy weight of sadness on her young shoulders. As Cam sat in her changing room, still waiting on her best friend to show up after the awkward moment with her mate and teacher, she began to feel this odd way… goosebumps appeared on her skin, the hairs on her body were erect, as though she had been electrocuted. She had waited for a while, and
