CHAPTER 8✍️
Starr’s POV The next morning, I gazed into the mirror, my eyes sparkled with self-admiration. I couldn’t help but notice the transformation that had taken place over the past two years. My skin, had lightened to a radiant glow, My curves, were mind blowing. With a gentle smile, I traced the contours of my face, my fingers dancing across my high cheekbones, my full lips, and my almond-shaped eyes. I felt like a work of art. We had already packed our things yesterday, so it wasn’t hard to get the airport that morning. Few hours later, I checked the flight status and saw that our plane had just landed. My heart skipped a beat. We made our way to the arrivals gate, my eyes scanning the crowd for a glimpse of my best friend . And then, suddenly, I saw her. Her long hair flowing behind her. Her eyes locked onto mine, and a radiant smile spread across her face. “Lizzy” I exclaimed, rushing towards her with open arms. I swept her into a tight hug, feeling a mix of emotions: joy, love, and a hint of nostalgia. We held each other for a moment, the world around us melting away. “I’ve missed you so much, Starr,” she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. “I’ve missed you too, Lizzy,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. “I’m home now.” I almost forgot, that I came with Tania, I and Lizzy were locked in our own world that we didn’t even notice anyone around us. “Oh, Lizzy meet my friend Tania, the one I told you about,” I said with a huge smile on my face. Lizzy’s eyes brightened, and she extended a hug to Tania. I always knew my best friend had a good heart, so I was sure it wasn’t going to be an issue bringing Tania along with me. “Welcome Tania, it’s really nice to meet you.” They exchanged pleasantries, and afterwards we left for our home. That night we all laughed, did videos and took pictures, talked about a lot of things and Lizzy wouldn’t stop talking about her boyfriend, how amazing he is, how cute, and all of that. I couldn’t help but feel extremely happy for my best friend and I hugged her and told her she deserved the best. ••••••••••• Somewhere in Dubai, in another apartment. Seven’s POV I had arrived a few hours ago, and the guys wouldn’t stop talking nonstop about Gab’s woman and her friends, especially one. They said she just arrived too. They’ve been constantly saying she’s too beautiful and was my kind of woman, but I knew they were clearly insane. “Seven, come and see!” Gab called out, his voice filled with excitement. “You won’t believe who Lizzy posted. I walked into the room, curiosity and confusion etched on my face. “Who is it?” “That friend of hers she always talked about, the one I told you about, remember?” Gab wanted me to remember, but I didn’t always put things that didn’t matter in heart, so I was confused. “Seven, the one I said Lizzy showed her picture to me, God! That girl is so gorgeous.” He added with an expression that was clearly uncalled for. “Guys, what is it? Man, why do you have that look on your face? Chris and Jude walked in on us having that conversation, and Gab quickly showed them a picture of the girl he was talking about and they flared up, saying all the nice things about her. Chris replied, his eyes fixed on the screen. “Oh my God, she’s so beautiful!” They all gathered around, equally mesmerized by her appearance on Lizzy’s video. “Whoa, she’s stunning!” Jude exclaimed. “I know, right?” Chris agreed. “I mean, we knew she was pretty, but...wow.” I chuckled. “You guys need to calm down. It’s just a video.” And they all looked up at me, and Chris spoke up instantly. “Man, you should come take a look at her, I’m sure you will leave that playboy life of yours and focus more on commitment,” Immediately that rolled that of his mouth, I couldn’t control my laughter and I ended up laughing out loud. “What? Are you insane? Chris, why would you even think that I, Seven, would ever get involved in a stupid committed relationship? I’m honestly done. After Trisha, there’s absolutely no woman I’d ever be involved with,” I replied, with honesty filled in my tone. “Really?” Chris threw that at me immediately. What if you fall in-love with her? He added. “You’re clearly crazy, Chris, Gab, you should tell him.” I added with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. I’m not capable of love again, but clearly heartbreak. I added. Amusement spread across Chris’s face immediately. I said that, And I knew what would come next would be a stupid trick. “Really?” So you want to bet on it? If you fall in-love with her, you’d give me half of what is in your bank account, deal? He responded almost immediately, with a huge smirk on his face. I wanted to prove them wrong, cause I knew all women were the same, slutty and dependent. “I thoughts to myself. I know she’d fall just like every other slut. I smirked, confident in my abilities. I’m the one who’s going to make her fall cheaply And when I do, she’ll be just like all the others - begging for my attention, dependent on me for everything and Of-course want more from me, then I will freaking dump her ass and win the bet“ “Well, Lizzy just told me she’s back in town now, and I told her to try to convince her for all of us to have dinner on Friday.” He concluded, Chris and Jude were already so overjoyed to meet this girl, but for some unknown reason I was too, but at the same time I didn’t want to. But I guess I should, cause I’m just about to fuck another Slutty Bitch!!! And win this godforsaken BET. Starr’s POV The next morning the girls were all in my room, and Lizzy kept on asking who Kelvin was and I kept on explaining that he was just a friend but she didn’t believe, and finally when she did she instantly made a funny requesting face, I’d recognize that face anytime. She always did that each time she wanted to ask me for something that I’d definitely say no to. “Okay, come out of it Elizabeth,” I said calling out her full name, and we all bursted out into laughter. “Come on, spill your shit. What do you want from me?” I asked. Still making that face, like a baby that wants breast milk from her mother, Lizzy finally opened her mouth to talk to me. “Baby, it’s not something hard, just a little tiny request. Please promise me you’ll say yes,” she started off, but hurriedly added another. “I know you love me, so you’ll say yes,” she added, cause she knew I was a head nut to crack. And the moment she did all that to make this request, I knew it was something either provoking, or something I’d never agree to. “Lizzy, what’s it? I hurriedly asked her. “Okay, I’d like for you to come with us to a dinner date. All of us are going right, Tania? You would, right? I hurriedly threw at Tania. And before I could process anything, Tania was already flying her hands up to show how happy she was to go out, so she instantly said yes. “Yes, Lizzy, I’ll go too.” “Jesus Christ!, please can you all calm down? I’m trying to understand the whole thing,” And to be honest, I was, I’m confused. “Lizzy, what date? What are you talking about? I asked her and I wanted to a full explanation for that date. I knew Lizzy she just wants me to agree and when she gives her full explanation, I won’t be able to back out knowing that I’ve promised her. “It’s just a date, Starr,” she replied, squinting her eyes like something was in them. “I know, Lizzy. It’s just a date. But it’s just going to be us, right? The four of us?” That exactly was what I wanted to know. Lizzy started looking around like she lost something. I instantly knew she wanted me to meet other people, and I’m no fan of that. “Starr, they’re my friends, and trust me, they don’t bite.” She said, trying to sound convincing. Wait a minute, what did I just hear? They? Is she kidding me? “Elizabeth, did you just say they? Like it’s not just one person but multiple? I asked. My voice sounded confusing but firm. “Ye…., Yes.” she responded stuttering. But I wasn’t in the mood for odd plays. I just wanted her to tell me the truth. “Lizzy, please spill it already.” I asked, my voice etched with firmness. “Okay Starr, I will, but first, promise me you’d say yes, promise me you’d agree…” but I cut her off immediately. “No, Lizzy, I won’t promise you anything.” My facial expression is rigid. So she can grab the memo. “Lizzy, if they’re the opposite gender, MEN, count me out of it. I’m not going. I concluded, my voice stern. Tania and Ella just stood there watching us banter. “See why I didn’t want to say anything? Cause I knew you’d give that answer. Starr please, there’s no harm in having a dinner date with men, moreover, one is my boyfriend, Gab, the one I told you about? And I really want you to meet him. Please, babe.” She added, trying to sound really convincing, but I wasn’t having it. I wasn’t going to sit with that godforsaken gender. “Lizzy, honestly, I’ “Starr, come on, please, just this once. Let’s have fun. And you don’t necessarily need to speak to them. After a few hours, it was night, and they started dressing up, Lizzy still came to me with a sad face, so I just agreed and she immediately ran off to my wardrobe to get me a beautiful dress, that showed all my curves. I dressed up, and I looked so beautiful. Lizzy applied a light makeup for me and we were all set to go. Few minutes later, we arrived and my phone rang so we told Tania and Ella to go in, while Lizzy waited for me to finish my call, cause she was scared I’d go back home. Honestly, I wish I could. I finished making my call, and we both stepped into the restaurant, immediately we did, everyone single person, both those who were on a date with their boyfriends, they all turned and were gawking at us, especially at me and I was shy but I didn’t want to show it. The table we were headed, the guys all looked profusely. Tania and Ella kept on looking at me, but I noticed Ella’s face. She was giving me this look that I didn’t know how to describe, so I just took my gaze elsewhere till we stopped there. And 2 guys stood up immediately to shake my hand. “Hi Starr, right? It’s finally nice to meet you, I’m Christian” A light-skinned one shook hands with me. Then it was followed by Lizzy’s boyfriend, then a very dark skin one. He called his name Jude, and I nodded. Then lastly, a man I didn’t even notice, he’d been seated there all along the whole pleasantries. He looked at me, and I felt his sharp blue eyes. Oh My God! They were so beautiful. He stood up, and I could clearly see his chiseled arms. He looked so beautiful, No handsome. I fought with my thoughts. He had a very smooth lined jaw, his long pointed nose, and a caramel skin color. He was a perfect man. He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen in my entire life. But the moment he smirked and gazed directly into my eyes, with our hands joined together, I knew he was worse than Charles. He was a badass playboy that I hated immediately. “Hi, I’m Seven, it’s finally nice to meet the almighty Starr. They always talk about,” I got confused cause, is he okay? But I let him finish his speech. “I guess, You’re QUITE BEAUTIFUL THOUGH,” Immediately he said that I hated him even more. It felt like it was just the two of us there, others were simply staring at us. And I came to the conclusion. He was just a handsome, proud duck. Really? I’m quite beautiful? Is he insane? Did he just insult me?“Baby…” He began, pausing briefly to check my expression before continuing.I took in a deep breath as I continued to stare without taking a leap of break for a second. My eyes were just fixed.“From the very first moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you.”For a moment, I shook my head and blinked my eyes repeatedly as I continued to jog my memory, wondering if the cold has finally found a way to sway into my small head and I was imagining things. In that process, I turned around to stare at everyone in the restaurant, and I then noticed that the covered board had been opened. The silky cloth cover was gone, and it was decorated with, “Marry me, please.” And lots of balloons. My hands found my mouth to hold it from squealing. But I flashed him a small smile to see if it was real. “Starr, I cannot imagine a day go without you by my side. You’re everything I’ve ever wished for.”Smiling widely as a tear fall from my eyes. “You’re so beaut
•••••••••••••••••FOUR MONTHS LATER⏰Steadying my trembling fingers, I applied Seven’s favorite lipstick, just as Lizzy instructed.I sighed for the fourth time since I lowered my butt on this chair.“Argh,”… I whimpered since I couldn’t still get it right even after trying for the third time.Currently, I was trying to draw my brows. Boss Lizzy said I had to put on makeup to wherever she was taking me. I was consumed by ultimate complaint when she stormed into my room, annoyance evident on her beautiful face. She has made herself up too and suggested that I do the same too, but I refused and after much argument, I placed my butt on the chair and started doing what I didn’t know.“Give me that.” She grabbed the eye pencil while I chuckled and placed my hands on her ass, settling my face properly for her to do it.The one I knew how to do was a neutral one, but for some reasons unknown to me, she said she wanted something different tonight.“Okay, Elizabeth, I don’t want to look good
The room atmosphere wasn’t awkward because everyone felt love was present until Ella spoke up.“Uh…. Starr, what did the doctor say? Is it your normal illness that made you sick?”Then Seven chipped in with Lizzy’s and Tania’s eyes roaming to everyone’s faces. “Yeah, she had a little head concoction. The doc said it’s because of her memory loss. Her lost memories are probably fighting their way back and she took her drugs without eating, too.” He explained, and Ella crinkled her face like she doesn’t know everyone is trying to hide it from him.“Really? Memory loss? I thought it was……”I quickly chipped in, glaring hard at Ella with a pleading gaze. “Yes, it was memory loss.”“Really, Starr?” She inquired again, her face filled with a wicked glare. My gaze went to Seven’s immediately. He leaned forward from his chair, suddenly interested in what was going on. “What do you mean by that, Ella? Or is there something else?”“Baby…” I trailed off.“Ella, can you please stop that?” Lizzy qu
My pale face stared back at him till I found the least of my courage and finally said something. Though my voice was a little low but sharp. “Is everything okay?”His face was still as straight as a frame till he bent his head momentarily, flipped his wet tongue over his full lips, and spoke to me. “You tell me.”That was all I needed to hear for my heart to pound faster. My heart began to race as I stared at him before shrugging my shoulders to act nonchalant. “I don’t understand.”Every minute that passed with the eerie silence he pushed felt like a sword piercing through my heart, as I couldn’t wait to hear what he had known. He lowered his head again, temporarily. Down to his folded hands before fixing it back in my direction. “The doctor instructed that your drugs should be taken with food, and this morning you took it without eating.”I arched my brows as he let that half out, waiting for him to continue, but he took a pause. “Starr, when were you going to tell me you have issue
I snapped my eyes open, moving my fingers to trace the blood. Not knowing what to do, I plastered a small smile on my face before I narrowed my eyes to meet his worried face.“I’ll be fine.” I muttered as I tried to take another step, but stopped abruptly the moment I saw the entire room rolling in circles.Hearing his voice that sounded distant, I knew I’d be on the floor any moment from now. “Baby, hold on a minute. I’ll get my car keys and take you to a hospital.” His shaky voice cut through the air.My hands clenched into a fist as I hastily shook my head in disapproval. “No. no. Babe, I’m fine.”Swiftly, he leaned closer and held me by my waist to grip me. “I’m definitely taking you to the hospital right now.” He urged, his tone filled with command as it echoed adamantly. My hands that laid on his arms fell in defeat as realization hit me that he would definitely not take no for an answer, especially in this condition of mine.So I nodded my head in approval as he motioned that I
Spreading my hands apart, my eyes flickered open and I clasp my mouth together to stiffen a loud yawn. After making sure I’d surveyed the entire room, I turned to my side with a smile to stare at his beautiful face.He looked so peaceful and innocent with his lips slightly apart and a soft snore coming from him. After that brief stare, I took my eyes to his small table where his alarm clock was before dropping my legs to the floor.Swiftly, I wore his slippers and moved to the bathroom to take a leak and definitely brush my teeth and after take my bath.Squinting my eyes around, I stood up and approached the bathroom door. I just wanted to do everything, then make breakfast and take my drugs before he’d wake and ask questions.I took in a deep breath and hurried to the bathroom and jammed the door shut.I furrowed my brows as I searched for where he kept the toothbrush he used to brush my teeth last night. My eyes landed on it just right above the box where he keeps his skin care rout
“Huh? What did you say?” He asked, his voice dripping with presence. He feigned ignorance, like he wasn’t aware of what he was clearly doing to me.“Seven, please…..” I spoke out loud again, my voice sounding raspy caught between the sensation building in me and not wanting to put an end to it.Crying out, I pleaded with him to take it easy on me, but he didn’t listen as he didn’t say a word and positioned himself at my entrance and pushed it again. My both hands found my mouth to clasp it shut, but he took his hand to mine to unclasp it. “I want to hear all of it.”So my both hands fell to my sides on the bed, gripping and grabbing the sheet to culture my self on my soundtracks.“Ahhhh.” I whimpered and shrieked under him, making him know how vulnerable I have become under him.His chest was heaving, moving forward and backwards as he continued his torturous work. So carefully, I leaned forward as my jaw met his right shoulder.Opening my mouth, I bit it, trying to suppress my moan a
His face brightened a little, and he grabbed my hands into his and placed a kiss on the back of it. “I love you too …..”He took a pause, as he took in a deep breath, making his Adam's apple pop out a little. “But Starr, are you okay? Do you feel sick?”His eyes searched mine, looking for anything but an answer. “No, I’m fine Seven. Okay?”Instantly, my stomach churned, sending the feeling that induces nausea right directly to my throat.Suddenly the feeling of disgust, or should I say, regurgitation, surged through me so quickly I gulped it back down, pushing it back with my spit. The doctor mentioned that with the drugs I was taking, the side effects would be nausea, weakness, and stomach irritation. So that’s why I’m not halfway to the hospital freaking out.I took my eyes back to the throbbing eyes of him, still staring without taking it off for a minute. He just stood before me, gazing intensely.Knowing a lot would probably be going through his mind and I didn’t want him to beco
Two weeks have passed. Seven and I were supposed to go on our date last week Saturday but work had it moved so we were both currently preparing to go today.Seven had to travel back to New York for a meeting and I had to understand as the understanding girlfriend I pledged to be.But now right, I’m glad that we were finally able to do this.My ringing phone jolted me out of my reverie. It was on top of the cabinet where my makeup was. So steadying my full hands, I picked. That familiar deep, masculine voice sent a shrill of excitement through me. I haven’t heard from him for a long time now and trust me that’s not how best friends behave. But it wasn’t entirely my fault. Kelvin was now a busy person. One that travels from country to country in one week. So he was damn busy.“Hey, hello?” I responded with my lips pouted to the mirror still applying my red seductive lip stick to it, just like the way Seven likes it.“Starr? What sup? How’re you?” He asked all at once and I was wondering
