FESTIVAL MORNING

Morning came, and it's the festival day.

A pale haze clung to the palace windows as if even the sun was reluctant to stir, brushing only the edges of the world with light. The air was cool, gentle with a hush that only mornings before sacred things knew how to hold. The Festival of the Double Moons would not begin until nightfall, but the palace had already started to feel different, a reverent rhythm settling into the walls and floors, into the scent of warmed milk and moon herbs steeping in a distant kitchen.

Kael blinked awake slowly, his lashes heavy with sleep. The bed was warm beneath him, but empty beside him. Alaric had already risen, likely called early by court duties, the sort that wore heavy sashes and grimmer expressions. Kael didn’t mind. Alaric’s absence left behind something sweet: the memory of being kissed on the forehead, of being touched like something rare, precious, and he knows that’s what he is to Alaric.

He's still yawning and stretching when he heard a knock

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE SACRED BALM

“There you are, child,” she said, her voice warm like worn wool. “Come. Sit. The porridge is just right.”“Shouldn't we rub the balm first?” Elara asked who nodded in agreement. She turned to Kael, “Dear, this would be your first time having this family tradition.”Kael smiled faintly as Grandma reached for the small clay bowl of balm, its rich scent filling the warm air, something like crushed lavender, wild mint, something sacred to the family. She sank gently to her knees, her joints cracking softly, and took Elara’s foot in her hand with reverence.“You gave life,” she said, voice deep and quiet. “And so, life honors you first. You're the daughter of a strong wolf, from a sacred bloodline. No evil shall befall you.”She rubbed the balm slowly into Elara’s skin, thumbs working in small, patient circles, humming a tune that Kael didn’t know but somehow recognized. A lullaby passed down, perhaps. Or a prayer.Elara didn’t speak, her eyes were wet and shining, but her shoulders were s

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    LOVEBIRDS

(Aaron's POV)Look, I wasn’t expecting to walk into a scene that looked like a post-coital cuddlefest, because in my head, no one was that bold in a palace full of windows and guests roaming around. But there Kael was. Glowing. Smirking. Curled up like a cat who’d just licked cream off royalty. And there Alaric was. Flushed. Shirt wrinkled. Eyes dazed. Because he hadn’t just been sent out for fried yam like some commoner, but had instead been spiritually reborn via divine Omega touch.I paused at the door. Lifted the brown paper bag. Narrowed my eyes.“You sent me to get snacks,” I said, slowly. “And kept your prince by your side.”Kael didn’t even look guilty. He just reached over and plucked a fried yam from the bag like he owned the world. “You’ve got faster legs,” he said sweetly.Alaric coughed into his hand. “I offered to go.”“I am sure you did not offer,” I muttered, stepping in and closing the door with my foot.Kael shrugged. “You were halfway gone by then.”Right. Of course

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    HIS PROMISE

Alaric’s body was a wall of heat pressed into Kael’s back, their legs tangled beneath the velvet blanket that clung to their sweat-slicked skin. His nose buried at the crook of Kael’s neck, breathing in slow, savoring inhales like a man addicted to something far too forbidden. His lips brushed Kael’s scent gland with reverence, his voice a smoky growl against delicate skin.“You smell like warmth… like home,” Alaric murmured. “You’re killing me, baby.”Kael’s breath hitched, fingers lacing through the Alpha’s hand where it rested on his belly. He could feel it, the desire, thick and heavy between them, the way Alaric’s hips twitched as if resisting instinct with everything he had.“I can feel you,” Kael whispered without thinking. And he could. Pressed so close, it was impossible to ignore the way Alaric’s hardened length throbbed between them, hot and unforgiving through the thin fabric of his pants.Alaric hissed, low and sharp, before letting out a strangled chuckle. “Are you gonna

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE WAY YOU HOLD ME

(POV: Kael — Third Person Limited)The soft click of the chamber door stirred Kael from a hazy nap.He didn’t open his eyes, not yet. The scent was already there — that deep cedar and frostbite scent that always wrapped around his bones like safety.Alaric.Footsteps padded closer.Kael blinked slowly, adjusting to the dim candlelight. The Alpha stood at the edge of the room, tall and unspeakably tired, as if every mask he'd worn in public had been carved into his skin.Kael sat up on the bed, his blanket slipping down, revealing the gentle swell of his belly. “Hey,” he said, voice still heavy with sleep.Alaric didn’t answer. Not immediately. He just walked forward. Each step was reverent. Slow. Silent. And then—he dropped to his knees.Right there beside the bed.His hands didn’t touch Kael. Not yet. They trembled slightly where they hovered over Kael’s knees. He looked up with eyes that gleamed like dusk — not royal, not dominant, just his.“I missed you,” Alaric breathed.Kael’s t

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    FABRIC OF DECEPTION

POV: Alaric (Third Person Limited)The council chamber was too bright for Alaric’s liking.Golden sconces glowed against polished walls, bouncing light off portraits of kings past—men who’d worn this same crown with smug smiles and bloodstained hands. Alaric sat at the head of the table, not a wrinkle in sight, not a shadow in his posture. But his jaw ached from how tightly he held his expression in place.Around the table, nobles muttered in hushed tones while servants poured wine and adjusted scrolls.“The Solaran dukes arrived last night,” one advisor said. “They ask to meet before the Moonlight Ceremony.”“Give them tomorrow morning,” Alaric replied smoothly. “Not a moment before.”An elder with silver-threaded robes cleared his throat. “And… your Highness, may we inquire—how fares Her Grace’s condition?”The room stilled. They were asking about Amora. About the pregnancy.Alaric’s fingers curled beneath the table. “She’s resting. The healers are cautious, but optimistic.”“So it’
