Chapter 43: Lillian

“Thank goodness you arrived in time.  The man just took off that way.”  Jordan says while pointing down the driveway and to the right before continuing, “He was just here and was dressed like an officer, but I noticed his shoes and they were way too expensive for a cop.” He says hurriedly as I watch the two of them carefully.

Finding myself wondering, “What’s next?” I don’t say a word, just wait for the officer’s answer and see if he is actually going to do anything about it or not.

“Alright, we will see if we can catch him.” The officer states in a rather flat tone of voice and then rushes back to the car.

He sits there for a few seconds, before backing up and driving off after the other man.  Jordan stands there for a moment, as he stares off after them.  When he turns around, he smiles at us before sighing and walking in.
