LISA POV

I'm having dinner with uncle Ben and my father. We ate in a peaceful silence, only the sounds of knives, forks or spoons making impact with the plate made noise. The guards always stood far away from us whenever we sat to eat but father made an exception for Jeremiah. When my father said Jeremiah was never leaving my side, Ihe really meant it.

He stood a few meters away from my chair as I ate, I could feel his eyes burning through my skin. Everytime I glanced towards Jeremiah, he was always staring at me like I was going to disappear.

His icy blue eyes stared deep into my soul like he was searching for something.

I felt a hand on mine peeling my eyes away from Jeremiah. I turned to see my father staring at me with a questioning expression.

“Did you hear what I said?” Dad asked.

Looking between Dad and Uncle Ben, “what?”

“You weren't listening pumpkin,” taking a sip from his wine, “is everything alright?”

Looking back at Jeremiah, I slowly pulled my hands away from uncle Bens
