Kaela’s POV

Walking back into the Werewolf Aerospace Model Modification Studio felt like stepping into a part of myself I had locked away and almost forgotten. The metal doors slid open with a hiss, and a wave of familiar scents hit me at once.

For years, this studio had been my world. My pride. My creation. My second home. Standing here again I felt relief.

The first voice I heard was Sophie’s.

“Boss…?” she whispered, like she didn’t trust her own eyes.

And then she ran toward me, her arms

Kaela’s POVThe woman from the doorway didn’t bother with greetings. She stopped in front of me with that same cold, lifted chin, her gaze scraping over me.“You must be Kaela,” she said. “I’m surprised this place didn’t collapse entirely without you.” Her eyes swept the room once more. “Then again, perhaps I shouldn’t be.”Whispers rippled through the veterans. Sophie stiffened. Taren’s aura sharpened beside me.The woman, the socialite Camille, though she hadn’t introduced herself, tilted her head with a slow, predatory smirk. “I wanted to see the Omega who caused such… noise.”So that’s what she wanted. A reaction, a show of dominance. But she wasn’t ready for mine.I didn’t speak yet. I let her continue with her assumptions. It was always interesting, watching someone underestimate me with such eager confidence. Her eyes flicked to Taren again, lingering far too long. “Of course, I had to check the rumors. You know people talk.” She gave a delicate, insincere laugh. “About Taren a

But I didn’t push her away. She was trembling with relief. Her voice cracked as she spoke again. “You’re really back. You’re really here.”Behind her, the veteran workers lifted their heads one by one. Wolves who had stayed with me through the long nights, through failed tests and exploding prototypes, through victories and disasters. Wolves who knew what this place meant because they had helped me build it.Their eyes filled with recognition, respect and even pride. B

Rhett's POVDamn it.The training hall was still buzzing long after the fight ended. Wolves whispered in tight circles, their voices low but sharp, each word slicing through the air like knives. Every sound scraped against my nerves. It didn’t matter that they tried to hide it, every single one of them had watched Taren beat me.And they liked it. I felt their pitying looks on my skin, like insects crawling under my clothes.Selene tried to place a hand on my shoulder, whispering, “Rhett, let’s just go” I shoved her off. “Don’t touch me.”The humiliation boiled so deep inside me it felt like poison. I couldn’t breathe in there. I needed to move, needed to escape. Selene trotted behind me like a frightened dog as I stomped toward the car.We got in without a word. The moment the engine started, my foot slammed on the gas. Gravel spat behind us, the car jerking forward with a burst of speed that made Selene scream.“Rhett! Stop, slow down!” she cried. But I didn’t listen to her.I only

Kaela’s POVAfter the fight, we drove a bit up from the training hall. The area was silent, but not cold. The tension between us still burned from the fight. When Taren parked the car, the world outside felt far away, swallowed by night and sky.Inside the car, Taren rested his head back against the seat, chest rising slowly, the thin cut on his shoulder still visible beneath his torn shirt. I leaned closer, brushing my fingers over the scrape.“You let him hit you,” I said. His mouth twitched. “Maybe.”“That was reckless.”“It worked,” he replied. “The pack saw what they needed to see.”I shook my head, half annoyed and half… something else. Something warm. “You’re impossible.”“And you’re staring,” he murmured.I didn’t deny it.A beat passed. Then I reached out and pressed my thumb gently to the dried blood. “Still hurts?”He shrugged. “Only when you look at me like that.”I felt a sense of excitement. “You’re unbelievable.”“So you’ve said,” he answered, voice lower now.The words

Kaela’s POV“You’re working seamlessly, Aunt Giulia.” I warmly linked arms with Mrs. Medici.Yes, Aunt.Giulia Medici, my mother’s closest friend during her studies in Florence, was like a sister to her, a she-wolf of impeccable grace and bloodline, and a sharp mind honed by decades of navigating international pack politics.“That price,” she said with a wink, “even I feel a bit guilty about it.”“To deal with wolves, you need a rifle.” My tone sharpened. “Besides, that tower in Milan? The keys are no longer in his claws.”Aunt Giulia gave a low chuckle, but her gaze gleamed with pride. “Thanks to you, we claimed that Milan jewel at a cost even our ancestors would respect.”“Looking at that top floor,” she added, voice lower, “with its perfect light, the privacy, the strength of the foundation, it calls for a she-wolf with vision. Maybe one who’s tired of Parisian politics and betrayal.”I turned to her.She gently patted my hand. “I’ll keep that top floor untouched. Consider it a gif

Kaela's POVWith a loud crack, the lock snapped open.“Damn it!” Taren cursed, bursting through the door. He dropped to his knees beside me without hesitation. He caught my limp body before I hit the tile. With urgency that betrayed his calm exterior, he laid me flat, brushing damp strands from my face. Then, his hands cupped my cheeks.“Stay with me, Kaela.”When I didn’t respond, he pinched my nose, sealed his mouth over mine, and forced air into my lungs. Once. Twice.I choked, then gasped violently, coughing hard as air returned to me. My lungs burned as if I’d been drowning.Vision still blurred, I saw him hover above me, tension lining every muscle.“You…” I tried to sit up, but he caught me gently, pulling me to his chest. My soaked dress clung to his shirt. I could feel the thunder of his heartbeat.“Don’t move,” he murmured hoarsely. “You almost passed out cold.”My mind spun with everything he’d told me minutes before. Rhett. Selene. The inheritance. The betrayal. The staged
