Sienna's POV

"Sienna?" Lila called, her voice sounding far away as my eye watched him laughing with some bitch like he is some innocent gentleman. He hasn't even noticed us yet.

Hopefully he never does. I am still very much far away from getting over our last encounter, and the last thing I need is another one.

"Can you hear me?" Lila tried again, snapping her fingers in front of my face.

"Yes, I can," I answered, forcing myself to look back at her.

"What's wrong?" She asked, confused, turning

Julian's POVI had engaged with a few more men in the room, but I felt those pair of eyes fixed on me the whole time. It is just a surprise I have not yet walked over and given him the beating of his life."Son." A voice I know too well called behind me, completely destroying the small peace I was trying to create for myself.I desperately wanted to ignore him, but this would be the worst place to do so... a room full of sharks that are looking for ways to climb up the corporate ladder no matter how dirty."I am not your son, and I would appreciate it if you never call me that again," I said, my voice very low but deathly, as I turned to fully face the monster that happened to be my sperm donor."That is no way to speak to your father you haven't seen in over a year now." He smirked, swirling the drink in his glass like I was entertaining."My father?" I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "That drink must be really messing up your head.""Do not speak to me in that manner, Julian," he shot, fi

Julian's POVI have never had any issue with the fact that Mags and I barely talk in the day when we are both busy with our lives until now.I have opened my phone to text or call her so many times today. If someone was watching me, they would think I just asked my first crush out, but somehow I always ended up dropping the phone."We are so glad to have you here, Mr. Thorne," a man I do not recognize from the past galas over the years said as he stopped in front of me."Are you new in the corporate world?" I usually entertain their pleasantries, but today is not a day for that.He stepped back a little. He obviously wasn't expecting me to be so direct. "Charlie, Charlie Anderson," he said quickly, adjusting his facial features and stretching out his hand for a handshake."You addressed me by name, so I believe you know who I am already," I said, accepting his hand with caution."Oh yes, I do," he said, a glint in his eye that made me even more wary. "I like to know everything that I

Sienna's POV"Have you at least tried calling since you dropped her off?" Lila questioned as she did her finishing touches on my hair."Yes, I spoke with Grandma." I answered, moving her gaze to my hands on my lap to avoid the stare she was giving me through the mirror."You know that's not what I mean, Sienna.""I don't know what you are talking about.""Don't play dumb with me, Sienna. You need to speak with her," she pushed further."Really, Lila? What do you want me to say? Where do I even start from, Lila? Did you see the way she looked at me like I am some monster?" I shot angrily. This is the last thing I want to discuss about... I have totally ignored that incident the whole day and it has kept me going, I don't need the reminder of something that is now probably forever etched into my mind."That doesn't mean you would not speak to her, she is just a child, things like this happen."I scoffed, "I have had nightmares so much that sometimes even when I am awake it still feels l

Sienna's POV "Has Julian come in?" I asked Leah for the umpteenth time, and telling by the look she was giving me, I already had my answer. "Not yet." She shook her head. "Up till now? And you said he didn't tell you anything about not coming in for work today?" "No, he didn't. I had my suspicions when he asked me to make sure no one enters his office and to make sure I keep my eyes on everything that goes on, but I didn't want to make any conclusions," she said, her voice calm, but worry was hidden in it. "Hmm... no meetings today?" I asked further, unable to shake off the discomfort nagging me. I am definitely giving Leah the caring girlfriend vibe who, at the same time, doesn't know where her beloved man is. "He asked me to reschedule all of them," she answered quickly. "He still has that meeting later tonight, right?" I asked, my brain already coming up with a plan before I could realize myself. "Ye...s, he does." Leah dragged, her eyes narrowing as she watched me. "What?

Julian's POV"You came home late last night," Mags spoke up, breaking the silence between us as we ate."I had a meeting with Jones," I responded, lifting my head to look at her.She has a scowl on her face that made me uncomfortable."What's happening, Julian?" Her fork dropped on the plate with a loud sound as she turned to face me fully, as if daring me to lie to her."I don't understand. What do you mean?" Mags has always been so sharp, and nothing ever gets past her, but I am pretty sure I have been in a good enough mood that can't trigger suspicion."You better start talking, Julian, because I know something is wrong. You can't tell me you were with Jones till past 11 p.m. last night."I wanted to insist, but if I have learned anything from my childhood days with Mags, it is to never lie to her."I may have gone back to the office right after," I murmured, darting my eyes around to avoid her gaze."You don't have to tell me that part. I know that already. What I want to know rig

Julian's POV"Sit, son," Mr. Jones said calmly, gesturing to the seat directly facing him. I nodded curtly before sitting. This isn't my first, second, or even third time coming to his house, but every single time there is always something new or different that wasn't there earlier.Don't get me wrong, I don't have any issue with it; it just shocks me sometimes how he easily changes the way his house looks like it's some hobby."How is the investigation going?" he asked calmly as he picked up the wine glass in front of him."Nothing yet," I breathed. "Whoever is behind this definitely knows their way around."He hummed in disappointment, slowly dropping the glass back on the table. "This is not good at all.""We were supposed to launch Project Orion next month, and now parts of it are already settling quietly in the emails of people we are supposed to pitch it to."I couldn't find any words to respond. He may not be directly blaming me, but I can't shake off the feeling that he is bla
