Leandro

Pain burned through every vein in my body, but anger…

Anger kept me awake.

They dragged the last three suspects into the warehouse a cold, damp, concrete room far from the city. The kind of place where screams were swallowed by walls and never echoed outside.

I stood in the center, shirtless, stitches pulling at my stomach, my breath unsteady.

But my eyes were sharp. Cold. Alive.

The men trembled.

They thought I died.

They thought Antonio won.

They thought betrayal would go unnoticed.

Idiots.

I tightened the gloves on my hands.

“Bring the first one,” I ordered.

Two guards shoved a man forward Marco. He used to brag about how loyal he was. Used to smile like he was untouchable.

Now he crawled.

“B–Boss…” he stammered. “I would never betray you. I swear….”

I kicked him across the jaw so hard he collapsed on his side.

“Don’t call me boss,” I said. “Traitors don’t get that right.”

He sobbed, hands shaking as he tried to sit up.

“L-Leandro, please….”

I crouched beside him, my voice

DeliaI didn’t sleep. Not even for a minute. At night the mansion seemed to breathe slow and quiet, like a sleeping giant. Footsteps tapped on the marble halls, doors opened and closed softly, a man coughed in the distance, and somewhere else a gun made a tiny click as someone checked it.And somewhere down the hall, behind thick wooden doors, Leandro Cavalli had brought Bianca back in and it seemed she was taken to his room.I stared at the ceiling until my eyes burned.I told myself I didn’t care.I told myself this was exactly what I’d expected. Men like Leandro didn’t sit with discomfort; they drowned it. Power, alcohol, women whatever kept them from feeling too much.Still, my chest felt tight.I rolled onto my side and clenched my jaw.He thinks I’ll crack, I thought bitterly. He thinks I’ll feel small. He thinks this is how he wins.Fine.Two could play this game.****By morning, the mansion was sharp with movement again. Orders were barked. Cars came and went. Somewhere, the

Leandro She said, breathless.“You were amazing, Leandro,” Bianca whispered, her voice still unsteady.“So were you,” I replied, breathing just as hard. The room was quiet, except for our breathing slowing down. The rain outside tapped on the windows, like it was somewhere else entirely. I lay there a bit longer, letting my muscles relax. Reminding myself this was all it was - nothing more. Then I pushed myself up and reached for my clothes.Bianca turned on the bed, propping herself on her elbow as she watched me dress.“Where are you going?” she asked softly. “I thought we were going to… sleep next to each other.”I buttoned my shirt calmly, not looking at her.“I don’t sleep,” I said evenly. “I rest when I can.”That wasn’t the real answer. She frowned, sitting up slightly. “You’re leaving?”“I’ll be in my study,” I replied, fastening my watch around my wrist. “Matteo will see you off.”Her eyes widened. “This late? How would I get a—”“Don’t worry,” I cut in coolly. “My men will

LeandroAfter Delia stormed off and left the sitting room, I signaled for Matteo. He appeared almost immediately, shoulders stiff, eyes lowered too controlled for a man who had been bleeding on my floor hours earlier.“Boss.”“Bring Bianca back,” I said, my voice even, “and arrange for the chef to prepare something for us to eat before I go to bed.”Matteo hesitated.Just for a second. Most people wouldn’t have noticed it. But I did. I always did.“Yes, Boss,” he said finally, turning to leave.“Matteo,” I added. He stopped and looked at me.“You’re walking slower than usual.”His jaw tightened. “I’m fine.”A lie. Not a big one. Not even a dangerous one. But a lie all the same.“See that you are,” I said. “I don’t tolerate inefficiency.”He nodded once and left. The room felt different after that, emptier, quieter. The rain continued to hammer against the windows, steady and relentless, like it was trying to wear the house down brick by brick. I poured myself another drink and leaned

Delia’s POVI couldn’t sleep that night. No matter how I tried to shut it out, the memories kept coming. Leandro's face - expressionless, emotionless. And Matteo... standing there, beaten up, but not saying a word. It was stuck in my head.Matteo, who had been nothing but loyal. If Leandro could do that to him… then he could do far worse to me.The thought settled heavy in my chest.Because I wasn’t innocent.I was the mole. The one who had fed information to Sebastian Callista. The reason Leandro had walked into ambushes. The reason men had died mercilessly, brutally by his orders. And yet, even knowing that, what haunted me wasn’t fear for myself. It was what he’d done to Matteo.I heard a soft tapping and realized it was raining. The sky had opened up while I was lost in thoughts. The sound got louder, filling the room, like everything was washing away.I pushed myself out of bed and walked to the window.Outside, rain was coming down hard, turning everything into blurry lights and

LEANDROI closed the door to my study behind me and stood there for a moment longer than necessary. Not because I needed calm.I needed to be locked away. Delia's words still rang in my head - sharp and bold. She looked at me like I was messed up. Like I was the bad thing she'd always suspected.Fear of wearing a crown.I poured myself a drink and didn’t drink it.Getting angry doesn't get you anywhere. Losing control is a mess. I've built my success by keeping my cool and thinking clearly. People think being quiet means you're weak, but it's actually a strength. It didn’t.It meant inevitability. The knock came exactly when I expected it.“Come in.”Matteo walked in, standing straight, looking ahead. His jaw was bruised, but he didn't react when I looked at it.“Warehouse Fourteen,” he said. “Same issue.”That word irritated me more than betrayal itself.“Explain.”“One of the men siphoned inventory. Small quantities over time. He thought it wouldn’t be noticed.”I smiled faintly.“T

DELIAI shut the door really hard.BANG! The walls shook, and the sound was loud, like a gunshot. But it didn't make me feel any better. I was still really angry. My hands shook as I dropped my bag to the floor. I didn’t bother turning on the lights. I didn’t need them. The darkness felt appropriately heavy, suffocating, and honest.I paced.Back and forth. Back and forth.Every step replayed the image I couldn’t shake from my head.Leandro’s face is cold, controlled, and unreadable.Matteo on his feet, bloodied but silent. Loyal to the point of self-destruction.And that bat.I pressed my palms against my temples, squeezing my eyes shut like that might erase it. It didn’t. The sound came back instead. The dull, sickening crack of wood against flesh. The way Matteo absorbed the pain without a word, without a jump, like suffering was just another part of the job.Like obedience meant enduring anything. And Leandro… God.I dragged a hand through my hair and let out a shaky laugh that
