With tears in my eyes, knowing that Randall knows me too well, I look at her and whisper,

“I have no choice, Thalia. He will have them hurt you.”

As soon as I am close enough, Randall reaches out again, grabbing my arm. As a reflex, I struggle a little against him and he pulls me to a stop before he slaps me hard. I slide my hand on my cheek and look up at him as he says,

“You are mine, Annalise. There is nowhere you can go where I will not find you. There is no escape for you from me…”

He then pulls me over to the SUV and, as he pushes me inside, he looks over his shoulder and says,

“Virion, grab her duffle and then meet us back at the pack.”

I look over his shoulder at the same time and watch as Virion hesitates and I see the conflict in his eyes from what he just witnessed, but it is only there for a moment before he says,
