Rachael’s PoV

“The Brooks said the remaining accounts should be released in about three weeks.”

The words settled heavily in the living room.

I looked up from where I sat on the edge of the couch.

Dad was standing near the fireplace, phone still in his hand, his expression drawn and tired in a way that made him look older than I had ever seen him.

Three weeks.

Mom let out a slow breath.

“At least it’s something.”

“Something?” Dad repeated sharply. “Do you know how much this house costs

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   Bora Bora

Rachael’s POV I picked up one of my smaller bags and started heading upstairs. Bella followed behind me. Still talking. Still dramatic. Still somehow energetic despite the emotional chaos of the last few days. By the time we reached the hallway, my room door was already open. I dropped the bag by the dresser and began pulling clothes out. The familiar scent of my room hit me. There was dust but not so much. The scent was softer than the penthouse. Warmer. But still layered with the faint dust of disuse. Bella walked into her side of the room. I moved things everywhere Maybe it was time for an upgrade in this room… Nah I don’t think we have the money for that right now. I started cleaning the dusty mirror, the shelves, my books, makeup, everything literally. The dresser was also a little dusty so I pulled the clothes I had put in our and cleaned it up “I hope I never have to do this again. I hate cleaning.”, I said coughing Bella didn’t respond. Her eyes were fixed

Rachael’s PoV “The Brooks said the remaining accounts should be released in about three weeks.” The words settled heavily in the living room. I looked up from where I sat on the edge of the couch. Dad was standing near the fireplace, phone still in his hand, his expression drawn and tired in a way that made him look older than I had ever seen him. Three weeks. Mom let out a slow breath. “At least it’s something.” “Something?” Dad repeated sharply. “Do you know how much this house costs to maintain in three weeks?” No one answered. Because we all knew. The electricity alone. Security. The little staff that had agreed to return. Groceries. The legal fees that were still quietly bleeding us dry. Mom lowered herself into a chair. “We’ll manage.” Dad laughed bitterly. “With what?” The room fell quiet again. For the first time since returning home, the reality of it all seemed to truly land. Coming back to the mansion had felt like a victory. But victory without acces

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   The Next Storm

Rachael’s POV The gates opened slowly. For a moment, no one spoke. The car rolled into the driveway, tires crunching softly over gravel that had once been swept every morning before sunrise. Now… it looked forgotten. I stared out the window. Home. The word should have brought relief. Instead, all I felt was something tight and uncertain in my chest. Mom was the first to step out when the car stopped. She didn’t even wait for Dad to open the door for her. Her heels clicked sharply against the stone path as she hurried toward the entrance like she was afraid the house might disappear if she didn’t touch it fast enough. Bella climbed out beside me and let out a low whistle. “Wow.” I looked up. The mansion stood exactly where it always had. Tall. Elegant. Imposing. But somehow… smaller. Maybe because I had seen it shaken. Maybe because I now knew how quickly everything around us could crumble. Dad stepped out last. He stood still for a moment, staring at the house

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   I miss you

Rachael’s POVI slammed the door to my room shut behind me.Then leaned against it.My heart was still racing.Every second from the balcony replayed in my head. The cool night air…The way Jonathan had looked at me…The pause before his lips touched mine…The kiss.My fingers rose slowly to my mouth. As if I could still feel him there.I let out a shaky breath and pushed myself away from the door, walking further into the room.We were leaving tomorrow.I should have been excited.Relieved, even. After everything my family had been through, going back home should have felt like the best thing in the world. But somehow…it didn’t.Or maybe it did.Just not in the way it was supposed to.Because all I could think about was the fact that by tomorrow, I wouldn’t wake up in the same house as Jonathan. No accidental run ins in the hallway. No quiet glances across the living room.No late night conversations. No knowing that he was just one door away. And then there was the wedding.Coming

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   Tomorrow

Rachael’s POVThe Brooks came to us.That alone told me everything I needed to know.Because men like my father were supposed to go to them. Not the other way around. But today… they walked into the penthouse like they were delivering something already decided. Not negotiating. Not discussing.Delivering.I stood near the edge of the living room, watching as the door opened.Aubrey stepped in first.Elegant as always.Untouched by everything that had been happening to us.Clinton followed behind her.His gaze found mine almost immediately. And stayed there. Not soft. Not questioning.Just… waiting.Like he was reminding me of something. We need to talk.I looked away first.Dad greeted them formally.Controlled.But I could hear the tension underneath.Mom stood beside him.Polite.Careful.Bella lingered near me, unusually quiet for once. She was observing.Always observing.Aubrey spoke first.“The Brooks family always keeps its promises.”The words landed smoothly.Confident.Certa

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   Unwise Decisions

Rachael’s POVThe Brooks finally picked up the phone.I heard my father’s voice first.Sharp and controlled.Too controlled. The kind of voice he only used when he was trying very hard not to lose his temper. It had been a while since I heard him speak like this.At first, I stayed in the hallway.Listening.Half hidden behind the wall near the living room entrance.Eavesdropping.I told myself I only wanted to know if the blogs had stopped. If the house arrest situation had changed. If anyone had finally done something. But as the voices carried more clearly into the hallway…I suddenly realized how ridiculous it felt to hide. Why should I?This conversation controlled my life too.My wedding. My family. My future. My freedom just as much as his.So I stepped out.Slowly.Deliberately.I expected my father to pause the moment he saw me.Expected him to stop talking.Maybe send me back to my room.I expected my mother to follow right after… with that same soft voice she still used whe

  • Fallen For Best Friend’s Daddy   Mary Hills

Rachael’s POVMary Hills did not fill a room with noise. She filled it with awareness.Even sitting quietly on Bella’s couch, she carried the calm authority of someone used to being listened to.Bella, unfortunately, had never been very good at silence.“…and then Clinton decided the announcement s

Rachael’s POV Daniel was mid sentence when my phone buzzed. “…so I told him if you hate your job that much, maybe it’s not the job,” he was saying lightly, stirring his coffee. “Maybe it’s the room.” “The room?” I asked. “Yeah. Some rooms shrink you. Some don’t.” My phone buzzed again in my ha
