Knox's POV

The wind cut through my leather jacket as we tore down the highway, Elara pressed tight against my back. Her good arm wrapped around my waist, her casted one tucked carefully between us.

I could feel her breathing…fast, shallow, scared.

We all were.

Eight motorcycles riding in formation, heading north with everything we owned strapped to our bikes or abandoned behind us. Again.

My phone buzzed in my pocket. Once. Twice. Three times.

I ignored it.

Whatever it was could wait. Right now, staying alive took priority over everything else.

Rylan led the pack, his bike eating up asphalt like it was personal.

Kai and Ash flanked him. Tiny and Reaper brought up the rear, constantly checking mirrors for tails. Stitch rode alone, his bike loaded down with medical supplies and weapons.

And I had Elara.

She shifted slightly behind me, her helmet pressing against my shoulder blade. Even through all the gear, I could feel her trembling.

“You okay?” I called back, knowing she probably c

ELARA’S POVI spent the entire morning trying to decide what to wear.“Something I can move in,” I muttered, staring at my pathetically small pile of clothes. But all I could think about was the romance novel from last night…it had kept me up until 3 a.m., my face burning hotter with each chapter.I finally settled on jeans and a black tank top. It was simple and. Comfortable. I hesitated over the bra, but with my cast, it was too awkward to put on properly anyway. The tank top was thick enough. Probably.A knock on my door made my pulse spike.“It’s me,” Knox’s voice called. “You ready?”I took a breath and opened the door.Knox stood there in his usual leather jacket and dark jeans. His eyes traveled over me slowly, lingering just a moment too long on my chest before meeting my gaze.“Hey,” I managed.“Hey.” His voice was rougher than usual. “You look good.”“Thank you”I smiled shyly. He cleared his throat. “We should go. Got somewhere I want to show you.”He led me downstairs and

ELARA’S POVI stared at the book in my lap, my face burning hot enough to probably light the entire room on fire. His hands gripped her hips as he thrust deeper with his 10 inches dick, claiming her completely, not minding her pregnancy. She cried out his name, lost in the sensation of…I slammed the book shut.“Oh my God,” I muttered to myself, fanning my face with my good hand.Three days had passed since Knox had climbed through my window. Three days since I’d fainted at the sight of his… anatomy. Three days of awkward glances and stolen moments that never went further than heated kisses because I was too mortified to let things progress. But I wanted to. God, I wanted to.Which is why in a moment of desperation I had looked for some… educational materials. Now I was sitting on my bed, two hours into the most explicit book I’d ever read, learning things I’d never even imagined people did.And I had questions. So many questions.I grabbed my phone and opened an incognito browser win

CHLOE’S POVThe phone rang once. Twice. Three times. Then it hit voicemail. Again.“Fuck!” I hurled my phone across the hotel room, watching it bounce off the wall and clatter to the floor.Jason’s voice echoed in my head from our last conversation three days ago: I’m going to get her back, Chloe. I’m going to fix this.Fix this. Like what we had was broken. Like what we’d been doing for the past six months was some kind of mistake that needed correcting.I paced across the plush carpet of my suite, my silk robe falling open. I didn’t bother closing it. I didn't care.Six months. For six glorious months, Jason had been mine. We’d snuck around behind Elara’s back, stolen moments that felt more real than anything he’d ever had with his precious fiancée.And yeah, maybe it started as rebellion. Maybe I’d pursued him at first just to prove I could. Just to take something that belonged to perfect, sweet, boring Elara. But then it became more.I’d fallen for him. Actually fallen for my step

KNOX’S POV“Elara! Fuck, Elara, wake up!”I gathered her in my arms, her head lolling against my chest, completely unconscious. My heart hammered against my ribs as I quickly grabbed the blanket and covered us both, cradling her close.“Princess, come on. Open your eyes.” I patted her cheek gently, then more firmly. “Elara.”What the fuck had I been thinking? Coming at her that strong, that fast. She’d barely eaten. Barely drank water. And I’d climbed through her window like some kind of caveman and pushed her too far.“I’m sorry,” I whispered against her hair, rocking her slightly. “I’m so fucking sorry. I should have been more careful. Should have taken better care of you.”Her eyelids fluttered.“That’s it. Come back to me.” I kissed her forehead, her temple, her cheek. “Come on, princess.”She made a small sound, her good hand coming up to weakly push against my chest.“Knox?” Her voice was barely a whisper.“I’m here. I’ve got you.” I held her tighter, relief flooding through me

Knox’s POVShe fainted at the sight of my dick Elara’s breath hitched. “Knox…”“I should have pushed her away faster. Should have made it clearer.” My thumb traced her cheekbone. “But Elara, I swear to you…there’s nothing between Melissa and me. There hasn’t been for years.”Silence stretched between us. I could see the war in her eyes…wanting to believe me, afraid to trust again.“I’ve been such a mess,” she whispered finally, gesturing at the destroyed room. “I threw things. I cried for hours. I…”“Your anger is kind of cute, actually.”She blinked at me. “What?”“Cute. Sexy, even.” I felt my body responding to her proximity, to the vulnerability in her eyes. “It’s making me hard.”Her mouth fell open in shock, eyes widening as they dropped to where my arousal was obvious through my jeans.“Knox…”“Actually, I’ve been hard since I climbed through that window.” I moved closer, watching her pupils dilate. “Seeing you like this, all fire and fury… fuck, Elara.”She backed away instinc

Elera’s POV My room felt too small this evening.I paced from the window to the door and back again, with my bare feet. The beautiful dress lay crumpled in the corner where I’d torn it off the moment we got back to the lodge. The headpiece was somewhere else…I couldn’t remember where. I didn't care. All I could see was Knox’s hands on Melissa’s face. His mouth on hers. The way she’d wrapped herself around him like she had every right.Like I meant nothing.“Fuck!” I grabbed the nearest thing…a book from the nightstand…and hurled it across the room. It hit the wall with a satisfying thud before falling to the floor. It didn’t help. Nothing helped.I grabbed another book. Threw it. Then a pillow. Then the lamp, watching it shatter against the wall in a spray of ceramic and glass. The destruction felt good. Like maybe if I broke enough things outside, the breaking inside would stop.It didn’t.My casted arm ached from the movement, but I didn’t care. I swept my good hand across the dre
