Skylar

A week had passed in a blur.

I still couldn't believe Sebastian had stood in front of everyone and declared that he was going to marry me properly.

The entire auditorium had gone silent when he said it. For a few seconds, everyone had simply stared at us as if they couldn't believe what they had just heard.

Then the silence had broken into cheers.

I could still remember that moment as clearly as if it had happened yesterday, even though several days had already passed.

I closed my eyes

Skylar My heart was racing so hard I could feel it in my throat. Every brush of his fingers sent heat pooling low in my stomach, a restless, throbbing need building between my legs that made me press closer. He kissed me again, deeper, then slowly trailed his mouth downward — along my jaw, the side of my throat, until he reached my stomach. He paused there, placing a soft, lingering kiss right over the place where our baby was growing.“This is why I kept my distance,” he murmured against my skin, voice rough with restraint. “I knew the second I touched you like this I wouldn’t be able to stop.”I shivered. His hands found the hem of my top and slowly pushed it upward. I lifted my arms, letting him slide the fabric over my head and off completely. Cool air touched my bare skin. I was exposed from the waist up in front of him now, and the way his eyes darkened as they moved over me made my breath catch.“You’re so beautiful,” he said quietly, almost like he was talking to himself.

  • Falling For My Ex-husband's Trillionaire Brother    Chapter 122:

Skylar Three weeks had passed, and I was doing much better.I could move around on my own and live relatively normally again. My strength was returning, and I no longer felt as weak as I had during the first few days after waking up. I was finally beginning to feel like myself.Unfortunately, my husband didn't seem to think I was anywhere near ready to resume my normal life.Sebastian had become ridiculously protective, to the point where I sometimes wondered if he expected me to spend the rest of my life in bed. He barely let me do anything without worrying about my safety. Even something as simple as walking down the stairs had become a problem. Whenever he caught me coming down alone, he would immediately rush over, looking at me as though I had committed some terrible crime, before insisting on accompanying me the rest of the way.It was the same with almost everything else. He wouldn't let me carry anything, discouraged me from standing for too long, and was always watching me

Skylar"We're going to have a baby."For a moment, I wondered if I'd heard him correctly. My hand slowly drifted to my stomach, and a surprised laugh escaped my lips.I was pregnant.I was really pregnant with Sebastian's child. After everything we’d been through, after the miscarriage and the fear that I might never conceive again, I could hardly believe it.My gaze returned to Sebastian's. His expression was relatively composed, but the joy dancing in his eyes was impossible to miss."We-we’re really having a baby," I whispered, a smile slowly spreading across my face."Yes, my love."Sebastian cupped my face and kissed my forehead. "I'm so happy, Skylar. I don't even know how to express it."My eyes immediately began to water."I wanted to tell you as soon as you were feeling better. You'd only just woken up, and I didn't want to overwhelm you with too much information."I understood what he meant, but I couldn't help imagining him carrying this news around for two whole days.I gl

Skylar My eyes slowly fluttered open. For a moment, I lay there, staring blankly at the ceiling. Then the memories slowly returned.Sebastian carrying me into the house. The familiar sound of his voice. The feeling of being gently lowered onto a bed before exhaustion finally dragged me into sleep.I shifted my hand slightly and felt something tug at it.My gaze dropped to the IV drip attached to my hand. My heart began to pound. Was I still in the hospital?I turned my head, taking in the room. The familiar curtains, the furniture, the soft lighting. This wasn't the hospital. It was one of the rooms in our house, though not our bedroom.I was home. A slow breath escaped my lips as relief washed over me.I lay still for a while, trying to shake off the strange feeling in my head. I remembered everything now, unlike before, when my thoughts had been muddled and distant. Still, I felt somewhat disoriented. When I finally attempted to sit up, the door opened quietly.Sebastian walked in.

Sebastian "Mr. Blackwood, could you please come to my office? I'd like to discuss her condition with you," the doctor said as he walked past.My jaw ticked.I glanced at Skylar one more time before bending down to kiss the back of her hand. Then I rose to my feet and followed him. When we reached his office, I took the seat opposite him, my heart already racing.I leaned forward, unable to hold back my questions."What's going on, Doc? Is my wife okay?" I paused, running a hand over my face. "She seems confused. She keeps asking me the same questions, and it's like she forgets what I've just told her. She doesn't seem to understand what's happening."The doctor nodded, allowing me to finish before speaking."First of all, Mr. Blackwood, I need you to relax. Your wife is out of immediate danger, and that's a very good sign."I stared at him intently. "Then what's wrong with her?""After being unconscious for such a long period, it's not unusual for a patient to experience some confus

  • Falling For My Ex-husband's Trillionaire Brother    Chapter 118:

Sebastian I barely remembered the drive to the hospital. One moment, I was sleeping in bed. The next, I was behind the steering wheel, speeding toward the hospital with my heart pounding.‘Your wife is awake, Mr. Blackwood.’Those were the words the nurse had said, echoing in my head over and over again.Skylar was awake. After thirty-five days of lying unconscious in a hospital bed, she had finally opened her eyes. And yet, I couldn't bring myself to believe it.What if I was dreaming again?I'd had too many dreams about her waking up, too many mornings when I'd opened my eyes convinced she was beside me, only to find an empty bed.By the time I reached the hospital, my heart was beating so hard I could feel every frantic thud in my chest.A small part of me wanted to believe the nurse had made a mistake, but I refused to dwell on the thought. When I finally reached her ward, I stopped outside the door.Taking a shaky breath, I pushed it open. And then I saw her.Skylar was lying ag
